^ Hanggang 2 yrs old pa yan sis. Ako naman hindi na nag-avail ng flu vaccine, personally di ko gusto effect sa akin, mabigat sya sa pakiramdam lalo. So when I discussed it with my pedia, ok lang daw sa kanya kasi may ibang tao daw talaga na hindi hiyang ang flu vaccine. But its my personal take ha, hindi naman sa hindi ako ok sa flu vaccine. Iniiwas ko na lang si baby na maexpose, extra ingat na lang. Ibang vaccine na muna kami.

thanks sis daveigh. nag skip ako ng 1month sa vaccines na yan kasi nung nagpa MMR shot si baby, nagka rashes buong katawan. nakakatakot.

hindi maalis sa isip ko minsan na shempre sasabihin ng pedia kailangan yan, ganito ganyan. income nila yon e.

^appearance of rashes after MMR is a common reaction, my pedia warned me of it when we had the first MMR shot.

It depends on how much you trust your pedia also, if you think of them as pushing vaccinations for profit purposes, then you may want to rethink your pedia.

^ If you take the time to back read, I have posted here several times the link to the Philippine pediatric society page on vaccines (you can also do a search if you do not want to back read). It contains the number of doses, intervals, etc. Primary vaccinations are recommended to be given until 4 to 6 years of age with yearly flu vaccines given after and there are booster doses to be given at 11 to 12 years of age. There is a little bit of rest lang at 2 to 3 years of age kasi mas konti ang kailangan ibigay na vaccines at that age pero this will all depend on how compliant you are on the schedule given by your pedia or how many vaccines are given at a visit. If your pedia only gives 1 vaccine per visit, then most likely it will still be monthly after 1 year of age hanggang ma-complete ang necessary vaccines.
As to the flu vaccine, I believe it is a very important vaccine to get because not only is it a disease that is very contagious, it also carries the risk of complications such as pneumonia, asthma exacerbation, etc. For allergic patients or those with a family history of allergies, it is recommended that they get the flu vaccine yearly.

Flu vaccines may be given starting at 6 months of age. Two doses one month apart is recommended for patients aged 6 months to 8 years and 11 months receiving the flu vaccine for the first time.
Dose is only 0.25 ml for patients below 3 years of age while it is 0.5 for those above 3 years of age.

Pedia ba ang nagbibigay sa lying inn clinic? It is your choice pa rin naman if you want to continue with the oral polio vaccine. You can also ask your pedia for guidance. 3 primary doses and 2 booster doses ang recommendation for polio here in the Philippines.

Hi I just want to be certain dito kasi kami nakatira sa bahay ng mommy ko tapos yung brother ko is going abroad and he is required to have measles vaccine daw according sa pedia ko measles is a live vaccine, I have 2 babies isa 15months the other one 4 months ok lang kaya na mag stay pa rin kami?

ask ko lang po for HiB vaccine.. i've just read kasi na the 4th dose (booster) should be given at 12 to 15 months (at least 6 months after the 3rd dose).. my baby is now 17 months old and his 3rd dose of HiB was given 10 months ago.. pede pa rin ba syang bigyan ng booster for HiB?

Pwede pa siya mabigyan ng Hib booster kahit late kasi Hib is recommended to be given till 5 years of age. Children less than 5 years of age kasi ang susceptible to infections caused by H. Influenza type B like otitis media (ear infection), pneumonia and meningitis.

Magkaiba talaga ang flu vaccine at PCV. The flu vaccine only protects against the 3 to 4 strains of the Influenza virus included in the vaccine. Para lang ito sa trangkaso or flu. It will not protect against colds or cough caused by other virus or bacteria. It is recommended to be given yearly because mabilis mag-mutate ang flu virus so if nabigyan last year ng flu vaccine, it doesn't mean na protected ka na for this year. It is preferably given between the months of Feb to May here in the Philippines kasi June start na ng flu season dito.
PCV protects against infections caused by the strains of Pneumococcal bacteria like otitis media, pneumonia and meningitis. Halos pareho ang prinoprotect ng Hib vaccine and PCV pero parehong kailangan itong vaccines na ito kasi magkaibang bacteria ang Hib and PCV.

Yes, measles is a live vaccine. Pwede pa rin naman kayo magstay sa house ng parents mo kahit na mag measles vaccine ang brother mo. Only those who are pregnant and those who are immuno-compromised (ex. cancer, immunodeficiency, those receiving immuno- suppressive therapy) are at risk of developing the infection once exposed to someone who received the measles or MMR vaccine.

Thank po natakot lang ako because our pedia told us stay away for 2 weeks din and ayaw din nya bigyan ng varicella vaccine yung 17 months baby ko kasi risky daw for my 4 months baby

merong measles vaccine ngayon baby ko. tapos next friday flu vaccine naman. ok lang ba yon? naka-schedule kasi sa office namin yung flu vaccine nya. yung measles naman ngayon nakaschedule sa center.

^ Measles is a live vaccine so you have to wait at least 4 weeks before giving any vaccine. Pwede ibigay ang measles vaccine and flu vaccine on the same day as long as different injection sites pero if this was not done, 4 weeks ang minimum interval before giving the next vaccine. Delayed din ang side effects of the measles vaccine (fever and rashes 1 to 2 weeks after).

thanks leletmd. naturukan ng measles baby ko nung june 11. since saturday nagsisipon cya. may side effects po ba pag earlier than the 4-week interval nabigay yung flu vaccine?

also, pwede ba cya maturukan ng flu shot kahit may sipon? thanks in advance!

hi! pa reply naman or pa pm naman ng mga pedia na recommended nyo from Makati Med or St Lukes Global, but I prefer MMC mas malapit samin. Taga kasi yung Pedia ko 8.5k yung 6-in-1 :/ ganun ba talaga cost? tytyty

The side effects of measles vaccine come out late. Usually 1 to 2 weeks after the vaccination saka palang possible na lumabas ang fever and measles like rash so if you are to give the flu vaccine within the same period of time, baka magkaroon ng overlap ng adverse reactions.
Regarding sipon and giving the flu shot, technically, high grade fever lang ang hindi pwedeng bigyan ng vaccination pero of course, it will all depend on the check up prior to vaccination. If the doctor finds something amiss, he or she may defer vaccination until the patient is fully well. I suggest you discuss it na lang with the doctor administering the flu vaccine and also inform him or her about the measles vaccination. Siya pa rin kasi ang magdedecide whether or not to push through with the vaccination.

Hi Dra. Lelet, I know Meniggo vaccine is not required sa kids. Do you recommend it? Medyo mahal din kasi sya (php4,500) and read sa baby booklet na kelangan lang sya pag may epidemia. Thanks for answering
