Will be going to the fair tonight. I'm particularly eyeing a deal at Sun Cruises.

Also booked for Palawan in October via APX. Yung papunta na nga lang ang piso. Anyway, sulit pa rin naman. Umabot ng 3,500 lahat.

sulit sa travel expo. was able to buy 2 one-way tickets to sg for 4400php and hk for 3400php.

^for 2 pax na. bale 1469 ea to hk tas 1869 ea to sg. kasing mahal lang siya ng P1 fare na nakuha ko pabalik from macau. good thing pa kasi parehas na long-weekend yan. aug and june respectively.

tiger airways. pero clk-hk siya not manila. pero ok lang kasi mura naman money changer sa clark so ok n rin. yung sa sg manila-sg kasi doble price pag clk-sg. weird nga e.

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Air Inc., operator of Cebu Pacific, yesterday defended the airline’s policy on promotional fares as Congress set an inquiry this week into the alleged unfair treatment by low-cost carriers (LCCs) of buyers of cheap airline tickets.

There are a number of House resolutions that will be taken up during the inquiry. Among them is one that seeks to “expose” the “unjust and unfair policies” of LCCs.

A technical working group (TWG) of the House Committee on Transportation will prepare the groundwork for the investigation.

House Resolution 716 directs the Committee on Transportation to conduct an inquiry into the allegation that local carriers are issuing tickets that are nonrefundable, nonreroutable, non-endorsable and which, if unused, are forfeited. Rep. Acmad Tomawis is the author of this proposed bill.

Another bill cites the inconveniences experienced by passengers because budget airlines tend to over-book, cancel flights and, at times, deny boarding of some passengers. The author of House Resolution 1283 is Rep. Christopher Co.

When sought for comment, Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing, said, “There are different rules for different fare types but generally for promo fares it is highly restricted.”

Cebu Pacific is one of the country’s LCCs. Others are Airphil Express, Zest Air and Seair.

The terminal fee is still Php550. There is a move to bring it back to Php750 but it will have to go thru legal proceedings. No date yet is given when it will take effect.
