Mga sis anyone knows where to buy tapioca flour or arrowroot powder?
Sayang andami sanang pued magawa with this ingredient i.e dinner roll, crepe, empanada etc but i couldn't find anything here in Davao not even in healthy option.

Cauliflower is so addicting but i agree medyo tedious cia gawin so better if you make plenty of it and store nlng sa fridge. Just like what im doing with my camote brownies and cupcakes.
Just buy the tapioca balls in healthy option then blender mo para mapulvurize. Instant tapioca flour :)

^ tapioca flour has different properties from almond flour. look for almond flour at chocolate lover. i think they call it almond powder. i think meron din sa santi's.

I plan to do this after my current program and am considering trying Paleo Manila by then para hindi muna ako ma-stress with food prep. May naka-try na ba umorder sa kanila?

I'm slowly transitioning into Paleo diet and I can already feel the difference. First couple of days I was a bit groggy due to consuming less sugars (was obsessed with Coke) and carbs but I am slowly getting my bearings. Less cravings and not even tempted to get a sip of soda. Also the jacket I bought this Sunday is now loose. ;D To think na I wasn't even working out the entire time due to work.

So this weekend I'll be making my own beef jerky in preparation for my overseas trip in case I have a hard time looking for paleo-friendly restos.

^^ what's vetri sis?

^ good job sis Irtwisted! sa umpisa lang naman mahirap ang paleo. and once you've tried it for about a month, kahit hindi ka na gaanong strict you'll know na what kind of food is good for your body.

I eat plantains/saging na saba and sweet potato for carbs and after work out ko lang kinakain. Need to lose 6 lbs more. :-)

Mabuhay to my fellow Pinay Paleo sistas!

I'm new to this thread but not to Paleo. l am super happy beachgirl started this thread.

Just a lil bit about me:
Started non-strict Paleo a couple years ago but before that I went Vegan with my mom but had to quit because we got so sick! Mom actually got diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
I was young and foolish and in all honesty believed Veganism was the way to go after doing some 'research'. I've learned from my mistake. We were told by the Doc that if we continued down this path our then current health issues would be irreversible. Veganism is not for everybody! That's all I'm going to say about it.

Oh, and BTW most bestest thing ever we learned recently from Doc that Mom's liver is doing lots better now, also she isn't pre-diabetic or at risk for HBP so Yay!
There are a few things I have learned that are crucial for everyone to know whether or not you're Paleo.
If you already know this good for you!
If you don't, here are some reasons you may want to take a real good look at your current food choices.

#1 Table Sugar is not Paleo! Sorry but true. Paleo or non-Paleo avoid this at all costs!

#2 Not all calories are created equal.
Table Sugar (aka Sucrose) is 50-50 or 40-60 glucose and fructose.
Glucose from starch (and fat) is necessary. Our body and brain need it, clamor for it. Sucrose and Fructose? Not unless you're already addicted.

#3 Fructose = Metabolic Syndrome (and Obesity, Diabetes, Gout, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, and CVDs, not to mention dental caries, etc)

#4 Fat isn't the culprit, it's the table sugar yo!
Fructose triggers the Fat Switch!!!

* Honey and Agave are high in Fructose. Throughout human history, Raw Wild Honey, a rare treat and I mean rare, is used to fatten up young virgin brides in certain indigenous populations.
* Coconut sugar is still sugar.
* 100% Real Fruit Juice is just as bad as Soda in driving the obesity epidemic in the US.
My recommendation? Eat your sugar don't drink it! Whole foods is still the best way to go. As with everything in life, moderation is key. Don't overdo it.

#5 Subcutaneous fat GOOD. Visceral fat or Gut fat NOT GOOD, it's downright dangerous even!

#6 Don't lose weight, lose fat! And don't lose hope if you don't lose weight. It's true that when you workout you actually get heavier. Because of muscle gain!
The more muscle you have the faster you burn fat! And the better your body looks and feels after the fat is gone.

^ thank you for sharing this! it's true, sugar is the culprit for obesity today. they hide it in everything so better read the ingredient list when you buy at the supermarket. or JERF (just eat real food).

After a year of working noc, I am finally back to working days and able to do Paleo again. For breakfast, I chow down 2 eggs ( farm-raised, cage-free) and chia seed pudding. For lunch, I just snack on lettuce wraps with skirt steak, sometimes chicken and homemade mustard. And dinner is mostly grilled meat with grilled veggies like brussel sprouts/ lettuce/ cabbage and beets. I made a killer jerk marinade and that's what i use to marinade my meat, until my husband and I gets sick of it  ;D It's not hard at all to go completely Paleo, but my husband will never give up rice and he's not even Asian. So i just cook enough rice for him to last the whole day. And I get my salt fix from fish like sardines and mackerel since the ocean makes naturally brines them  ;) for sweets, I make bukayo using yacon syrup.

For those who travel frequently like I do I have some tips para hindi kayo masira in case na wala kayong makitang restos na nagse-serve ng paleo food.

Paleo Snacks: On The Road
from paleopepper.com

• Hard-boiled eggs
• Bacon
• Spiced, Roasted Nuts
• Dark Chocolate
• Cut up dry-cured sausages
• Olives

My additional options depending on length of trip:
▪ cut-up veggies - veggie sticks: carrots, radishes, celery, etc
▪ fresh fruit: bananas, apples, orange, grape, berries
▪ cut-up fruit: pineapple, melons
▪ jerky

Sana makatulong to
