Hi sis! Im currently using Obagi Vit C 10%. I can attest that its really effective sis even yung mga scars ko when I had pimple scars due to hormonal imbalance in 2007, nawala sis. Ive been using this for 2 years now, and I can see significant improvement talaga. Hardly no trace of the scars at all.
I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud.

I'm a fan of Vitamin C serums. in fact any product containing vitamin c since they're really effective for me.

I have used plenty of Vitamin C serums na in my lifetime and I will try to mention them all here.

1. Obagi Professional C-Serum 10% - this one is my HG. i have been using it for 5 years na and it works not only for lightening scars but also for giving me a glowy, even complexion on my face, and small to almost non-existent pores. i think it is also responsible for making my skin firmer. for fading deep or very dark old scars, it might take some time for that but surely it aids in lessening hyperpigmentation of new spots. like if may pimple ako then it starts to dry na, instead of it becoming dark, mabilis lang sya maglighten. so i highly recommend this for maintenance, something you can use as part of your regimen for the rest of your life. plus it works well with any moisturizer, no breakouts, not sticky, no sting. downside is it is expensive here, 4k++ but it lasts me 2-3 months so sulit na din.

2. Obagi C-Rx C Clarifying Serum - if you have bothersome dark spots that have been on your skin for quite some time, this one really works. it has prescription strength hydroquinone making it an excellent whitening Vitamin C serum. Problem lang is you cannot use this for a long time since hydroquinone has bad effects for long-term use. It's quite stronger than the Pro-C, so it stings a little but same lang halos sila ng consistency. I suggest using this first if you have old dark spots then after 3-4 months you will note a big difference na by this time, switch to the Pro-C na. mas expensive sya by a few thousands kay Pro-C.

3. Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate - this made me breakout a little at first, but after a few uses, naging okay na din naman. it works as promised, reducing fine lines on my face and has somehow faded newer dark spots. but for older ones, medyo tough, i can't say it really worked for that since we naturally slough off dead skin naman in 28 days or so. I think i have used mga 5 bottles of this until I stopped because it kind of irritated my skin, there were some redness on some areas. it's moisturizing, but too much product will cause you to have dryness and sting. also pag napadami ka ng lagay, it causes patches underneath makeup. for its price, medyo mahal i think 3k++ here.

4. The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules - i like this but i did not repurchase after three jars because ang bilis ko sya nauubos. one capsule is not enough for my entire face and neck, i feel it is kulang. so isang jar half a month ko lang nagagamit, and it's also a bit expensive for just 15 day of use. TBS goes on sale very often but then hindi madalas kasama the Vitamin C range sa sale. for dark spots, it helps to fade them especially light spots, but then like i said i cannot identify any significant change since lumalabas i only used this for more than a month. it's also very moisturizing and gives me a nice glow. another low is that i wish hindi na lang sya capsule type, it stresses me to do all the cutting, then squeezing all the products out.

5. The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost - the SAs in TBS say this is their Vitamin C serum but I refuse to believe it is a serum. I think it's a primer of some sort. so it's more of a makeup product than a skincare product i think. Anyway, it's nice and smooth on the skin, gives me a dewy glow, mattifies and evens out skin prior makeup, so i like it. For dark spots, i cannot say much if it really lightens them but i think it's not as potent as a real Vitamin C serum. go for the capsules and use them together i suggest.

6. Ciracle Vitamin Source C-20 - it works for moisturizing and fading spots gradually, plus it's cheap. 1k++ lang sya. but i cannot use this under makeup. it comes as thick for me, and sticky even if i use a few drops lang. it also stings. i am not also a fan of the fragrance, amoy fruit juice sya. plus it stains clothing, even my hands and mahirap sya tanggalin, so i think it has food color or something. if these are not issues for you naman, this one is a good product because it works as promised. it gives me a nice glow as well. for its price pwede na.

7. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - used two bottles of this but it was so slow in showing results. some dark spots have faded but not entirely while i was using this together with the other clearly corrective products, so you see i was expecting more. it's also a bit irritating like the powerful-strength concentrate, it gave me some redness and sting. it's pricey too. so better try other serums first lalo na if you're just starting.

8. Dermax Hyal-C Serum - got this from Skin Station. it's cheap less than a thousand yata that time, mga 4 years ago. sabi sa ibang reviews this works for them, but for me, nah. i threw it away.

there you go. sorry mahaba hehe. i cannot recall all of the serums i used na so these are just some of them. but if you want to know more about serums, i think the serums thread will help. http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,254867.340.html

I used to use Skinceuticals pero sobrang mahal!  So i looked for an alternative, i found the brand Timeless vitamin c serum.  It is very similar to Skinceuticals formulation & a lot cheaper.  I order directly from their US website & use a coupon. Google it, daming blogs raving about it.

Finally a real feedback from Obagi Vit Serum. Im looking for Vitamin C Serum that really works. I don't want to splurge to another beauty product na di naman effective kasi tumatambak lang. Huhu. Sa house of obagi lang ba meron nyan?

Only vit c serum I used years ago was OST; brightened my skin but for pigmentation, only laser works for me. Sis-in-law still uses it for anti-aging.

yes. HOO lang sis sya avail here. ako din minsan i'll try na magtaksil kay obagi pag may bagong product  na sounds promising, lalo na if it's at a cheaper price, but i always end up going back to obagi, and i always regret na nagtaksil ako kasi nothing compares talaga hehe. it's expensive talaga, but 4-7 drops is enough to cover your face, and i use it once a day lang, so if you think about it sulit naman na sya kasi matagal mo magagamit.

i used to make pabili sa US kasi cheaper, but then madami kasi naglabasang fake (even abroad) so i got wary of buying from other stores/sites other than HOO na lang.

^ yeah sis. Naisip ko naman na kahit magpabili ako di rin naman machecheck kung nag oxidised na yung vitamin serum. I don't mind paying as long as it's worth it. Andami ko na kasing tambak ng beauty products na di naman effective. Hahaha. I will check HOO kung may go signal na sa doctor ko na pwede akong gumamit nyan. Haha

I really want to try obagi vitamin c serum because of my acne marks, so i decided to buy from hoo.. but when i opened it yellowish brown na color niya so natakot na ako gamitin siya sinoli ko na lang and i exchanged it with other obagi products. Ask ko lang kayo sis do you still use oxidized vitamin c serum? Also if bumibili kayo vitamin c serum ilang months niyo bago mapansin na nagooxidized na siya? Thanks po

I think so.. sa pagkakatanda ko 3-4k+ pero hindi mo lang siya ma-sure if hindi pa siya nagooxidize. Nabanggit nong staff nila na they still use oxidized vit c, pinakita pa sa akin yung vit c na they still use after facial halos brownish na talaga siya. Kaya ask ko nga dito kung pwede pa gamitin pag oxidized na yung vit c.

their serums used to be clear or at least champagne in color, but recently, new batches have changed in color, i think they changed it and added color kasi some are actually wondering/complaining bakit sya clear. i did the same thing as you, i returned one of my Pro-C then asked them to open another one, truly same color na yellowish. but not brown or anything dark naman. i believe if it's darker it has started to oxidize and may not be beneficial anymore, which defeats the purpose of the serum. If it turns bloody red of course, throw it away. I wouldn't risk it.

Obagi also said that their Vit C serums range from clear to slightly yellow or yellowish in color. But IMO, any serum should not be darker than that, it means it has gone bad and not okay to use. but study wise, i haven't heard anyone who was harmed by using oxidized Vit C. so i cannot really say more about its safety.

I asked the derma in HOO about this and she said the same thing, kung yellow lang naman din, nothing to worry about, but if dark yellow, brownish or reddish na, wag na daw.

Regarding HOOs use of oxidized Vit C, this I don't know and maybe the staff didn't know what she was talking about, but like I said, oxidized Vit C may still be used but a lot of its effectiveness has been lost and you are not getting your money's worth.

My Vit C serums start to oxidize at around months 3-4. What i do is keep it in the box and store it in my mini fridge na walang ilaw.  ;D

^can we buy sa HOO ng vitamin C serum even without prescription? How much pala sya?

yes, you can pero once you buy any product waived naman na the consultation fee, so paconsult ka na din. :) the Pro-C 10% is 4k++.

Haha. Sinoli ko pa naman yung akin dati kasi yellow na talaga siya noong inopen ko e naisip ko baka nasayang lang yung money ko. So ok lang pala yun if yellow na yung vit c basta from obagi? Pero would love to try it na uli, every morning niyo lang ba gamit ang vit c?

Here's a great article to answer your questions about vitamin c turning yellow.  https://www.futurederm.com/vitamin-c-serum-really-lose-potency-turns-yellow-futurederm-labs/ .  To add to this, if the vitamin c serum is new (newly made) it has a clear color.  Over time it really does oxidise.  The most stable vitamin c serum is Skinceuticals but it is the most expensive.  I've also tried Obagi by the way.

if yellowish sis, i would say okay pa. pero pag brown na or darker color wag mo na gamitin. kahit yung ibang brand ng vit c serums may pagka yellowish din sila. My Ciracle serum na hindi ko na ginamit yung natira sa last bottle ko, orangey red ang kulay nya when I checked so tinapon ko na. But when it was freshly opened, yellowish din sya.

what i noticed though with Vit C serums pag oxidized na sya it stings more than the usual, and hindi sya  smooth sa application.

i use Pro C every morning lang. I think it helps naman with fading spots even once a day ko lang ginagamit. But I suggest continuous long-term use talaga with serums para effective talaga. I have dark spots right now due to a scary breakout from products I used from a networking company recently (big, big regret because i helped a friend) and inuubos ko na lang Pro C ko. I will switch to the Clarifying serum with hydroquinone na mas stronger. I will share here if yellowish na din sya. Before kasi clear/champagne din sya.

Have you guys tried using two serums at once? Hindi naman ba na-congest skin nyo? Esp those with sensitive skin..
