Big school for Grade 1: Miriam College or Assumption Antipolo?

Hi, I can only speak for Assumption.  My daughters studied there, actually 1 is still there. 
My eldest just graduated last year and she is now studying in UP. 

Academics wise, based on their passing rate for the college entrance exams last year, a good number of them passed UP, a lot passed ATENEO and LaSalle and UST.

Yes, they are heavy with giving homeworks, but they are manageable. I think the purpose of this is for the kids to learn how to manage their time wisely early on.

I just noticed that the kids in Assumption Antipolo values being simple as well.  They are well rounded individuals and has a deep sense of camaraderie among themselves.

Any feedback re. Entrance exam ng mga daughters nyo sa AA for grade 1?

I spoke with 1 mom and she told me that there's a part daw where they would ask the child to write sentences... Is that true? Kanerbyos! My daughter knows how to read  and also comprehend but if it's some sort of composition, she would have a hard time 😔

I have nothing to contribute to the current entrance exams kasi I had mine in Prep during the latter part of the '90s haha but +1 for AA as a great option for your daughters. Mentioned in a separate thread that majority of us ended up going to UP, DLSU and ADMU for college so that says a lot about the quality of academics there. I do remember that we had homework for every subject almost every day, but we were able to adjust naman. It's great training for college and work anyway; we were never one to shirk responsibilities.

This isn't to say that it's necessarily better than MC though since I didn't go there, but I think AA has an edge in promoting quality Filipino education as well. I had friends who graduated from MC high school with honors and are really smart but had to take supplementary Filipino classes in college cause they really couldn't write/speak Filipino well. Medyo weird lang for me kasi they're pure Filipino naman and they grew up here.

^thanks for your reply sis, my eldest is from Ateneo now in Grade 4, my daughter will be graduating from Kinder this April, she is schedule to take entrance exam at Miriam on Feb 5, i want also to try AA before we finally decide

^got my daughter's acceptance letter from MC , she is also schedule to take entrance exam at AA on Feb 23, problem is at MC we must pay P5000 before or on Feb 19 as a confirmation for her slot

That's fine, but the reason we have private schools is because public schools are inadequate in many places. You can have your lottery, but if a family can afford it, then they will send the child to a private school over a substandard public school.
