for a healthy person, masama talaga mag skip ng meals. why? na strestress ang pancreas. it has to produce hormones to protect the body from hypoglycemia. tapos pag kumain ka, blood sugar goes up tremendously dahil nga gutom na gutom ka, so insulin naman ang katapat. pancreas din ang maoover work. kaya nga masama mag palipas gutom. and dapat eat small muna pag nalipasan. now if you are suffering from diabetes lalo na dapat hindi. right? as for the liver and other internal organs, ganun din. mabibigla sila. okay lang kung bata pa. but as you age, body will be more sensitive as it can't repair itself the way they used to. eating in small meals will definitely help regulation.
now, there was a medical study in australia led by Dr. Kerin O'Dea of the Department of Medicine, University of Melbourne. He took a 10 aboriginals who were obese and had diabetes and introduced them back into the Hunter-Gatherer lifestyle. they only ate what they could hunt, fish or collect. after a short period of time. all became normal
so theoretically it shows that exercise and having the proper foods can help you control blood sugar levels.
Ako, as a sports enthusiast, I've been following fitness expert Clarence Bass since i was a teenager. Sabi niya his Dad suffered from diabetes. and therefore nasa genes niya. Now Mr. Bass is at least 75 years old and has not developed diabetes. Mr. Bass is so into health and fitness that he would always have himself tested, ie body fat, VO2 max etc. Then one time the Doctor said that his Blood sugar and Triglycerides are slightly elevated. If not for his diet and exercise, he would have developed the disease. Sabi nga ng isang doctor sa Cooper clinic, i think it was dr cooper himself or maybe dr. jensen,
"Genes load the gun but lifestyle pulls the trigger." But a lot of Doctors today say that Diabetes is merely more than being genetic. every one is susceptible.
As for Mr. Bass' diet, he's almost Paleo. He eats grains mostly. he is so lean and fit for his age (75). sabi nga niya, how can insulin be a problem for him if he has so little body fat? so kelangan talaga mag pa slim down...or better put, to be lean. so the paleo diet, the way i see it, is a way of controlling the break down of foods. hindi agad papasok sa blood stream. veggies rich in fiber, matagal mag break down yun and will keep you feeling full. so the point is, mabagal ang pag convert into glucose.
exercise naman, increases insulin sensitivity. at the same time burns sugar.
kaya normal lang ang topic ng insulin sa body builders because kasama yun sa pag palaki ng muscles. not that may sakit sila. the more muscles you have the more stuff in your body will be burned
while at rest. i just can't remember if it was Mr. Bass or someone else, basta walking daw after every meal helps insulin sensitivity and the burning of sugar. Mr. Bass walks for 30 minutes in the morning and evening. this i remember clearly. he has days dedicated resistance training and days focused on cardio. some of my friends nga ndi nila pinapansin etong idol ko na author. why? they're so into the hypes in the gym. sa akin lang, the point is, he was able to reach 75 with no problems sa mga organs niya.
the good thing with weight lifting is that it takes 2-3 days for muscles to recover. since there is an increased need, more nutrients is needed to repair. therefore mas "masusunog" ang glucose dahil may increased need. kaya important ang resistance training, kasi the demand lasts for days. unlike pag cardio lang, you can recover in an hour or 2 or even minutes. walang heightened demand.
they also say that ALA, CLA, fish oils etc...those omega 3 and 6 can help the body's insulin sensitivity. these good fats can thin the blood too. have you ever seen fish oil placed on styro? yun. it should melt bad fats. sabi din nila Chromium is important.
detox din daw. plus supplements of fenugreek, bitter melon etc etc. I've heard meron pa daw na nag bleblend ng ampalaya for breakfast. good to detox din other organs.
also i remember a.vivero saying that most of the ampalaya capsules being sold are not made correctly? kaya mas mabuti pa daw other methods or other ampalaya capsule brand or eating the real vegetable.
as we grow old, hormones go down. one way or another, diabetes or not, one is bound siguro talaga to regulate the food that he eats. as our hormones decrease, siguro decrease dina ng volume. para yakang yaka ng hormone levels.
After 3 weeks, of at least 6 tests per day -- I correlated that when I get sleepy, or toes tingle -- sugar's up
i read na pag high sugar, malapot ang blood. so hirap to go through the body. therefore body needs to shut down and go into "safe mode".
