I have 1 VUL policy with 1M face amount. I chose VUL because its more affordable compared to traditional.
Dont forget to get additional coverage
i want to get an additional insurance, TERM this time, why, because with a low premium i also get the same coverage in 15 years time.

Sisses! Meron akong traditional life insurance (fully paid na) from Insular pero 100k lang yun kasi year 1990s pa kinuha ng mom ko saken. And then, I recently got married and kinuha ko naman si hubby ng insurance from insular din (traditional) worth 500k pero if in case si hubby old na and established na ang kids namen, pede ko ma i-encash ang policy + interests/dividends incurred. So two-way purpose siya. Ako naman since 100k lang ang insurance coverage ko, kumuha naman ako ng Wealth Secure from Insular (investment linked to insurance siya, so I guess para siyang VUL). Para naman yun sa retirement plan ko or educ plan ng anak ko. I am so happy na nadiscover ko tong investments na to, thanks sa pagbabasa ko ng financial books as early as now naka pag invest ako.

I cannot save money sa ngayon kasi we are paying our downpay sa new house namin, at least may forced savings at insurance kami di na lang puro sa dp at home improvement.

parehas tayo sis, parang force savings sya! kaya tuwang tuwa ako na nakuha ko yung I-Aspire 60 ko from Insular.

until now,na 3 weeks na since ang-enrol ako from that, naeexcite pa rin ako. :)

sarap ng feeling ng insured!

I have that sis. Mine is not. In fact it has an illustration of fund allocation and projected benefits or fund value for the next years. This is on top of what your benefeciaries will receive in case of death.

Exact Protector na ba ang pinakabest? they also offered us kasi Assurance Account Plus.. Di ko maintindihan pareho ;D  Kung 2500 per month ka, after 10 years.. ano makukuha mo? parang magkakaroon ka na ba ng pension?

sa pagkakaintindi ko sis, pwede mo sya iwithdraw so thats 300k plus interest pa yata kasi investment plus insurance sya. if you choose to withdraw your earnings lang, pwede din and protected ka pa din. pag hinayaan mo lang yung insurance mo, paid ka na ng 10 years diba, pag 60 or 65 years old na ko i have 2M na as a retirement fun. it can be more or less depende sa market kasi nga insurance plus investment sya. pero still walang lugi. kumita ka na insured ka pa :D

Upon checking our plans. Yung Exact Protector, limited number of years lang. Yung Prulink Assurance ay tuloy tuloy. Pwede naman tumigil ka na magbayad pagdating ng panahon na enough na yung fund to pay for your insurance every month. But we decided to have both kasi magkaiba ang goals namin so depende kung ano ang goal mo. more on coverage ba or investment. pwede naman kayo sis mag request ng quote and then you compare the plans. make sure you compute the total amount you have paid come that YEAR/TIME then check it against the projected value. And very true, the earlier you start, the better.

^marami yan sis, try to check yung sa Insular Life, Sure Cash for Kids.

pero expect na medyo mas mahal yung ganyang klaseng insurance kasi 10years is short period na.
although nakita ko meron pa nga at the end of 5th year pwede na start endowment  ;)

One VUL na di na-discuss dito is the level face variety. Eto yung whichever is higher sa face amount or fund value ang death benefit. This makes VUL a very flexible product. A simple way of looking at it is savings plan siya na may objective.

Your objective is to have that face amount. The insurance component makes sure that you have that objective in case of death. Your premium payment are sort of deposits that add-up until you achieve your objective.

Ang maganda sa policy na ganito is bumibili ka lang ng insurance habang kailangan mo pa. During lang sa time na ang na less ang fund value kesa face amount. Di to directly ma-compare sa mutual fund + level term but ma-compare to mutual fund + Renewable Term on the difference.

I think that's because Sunlife and Prulife has no such
option, and Sunlife and Prulife represents majority of the plans here

But what you said is true, a level death benefit is cheaper
in the long run
