food tripping location: CEBU

Bound for Cebu next week. It's been more than a year since I visited home thus, I look forward to eating Pinoy foods again. Must try Zubuchon. I've read a lot of raves about it.

just got homefrom our 3-day trip to cebu. we were there to
attend a wedding so didnt get to go around much. i read rave reviews on casa verde here and we had our lunch there before heading to the airport-i wasn't impressed. the ribs are ok, steak was tough, chicken was dry. the food next door at bigby's was better.

there was a korean resto my hubby and his friends went to that served really good ramen and yakitori-10 mins from ayala. i don't know the name though

for lechon, the locals we asked suggested rico's lechon instead of zubuchon or cnt. we brought home 2 kilos. i bought my aunt 1 kilo frozen zubuchon lechon at the airport and chicharon for myself. its yummy

we ate at Zubuchon @ Cebu City , sabi ko hndi ko palalagpasin ito pag nag punta ako ng Cebu ulit kasi na feature siya ni Anthony Bourdain sa TLC show: No Reservations, as:  "The Best Pig Ever" ... the food really taste good

for me sa Five Pork Rice and Slow Cooked Adobo solb na ako... regarding sa lechon, honestly ok den ang lasa, but my vote still goes with CNT mas type ko yung may sawsawan.. ang di makalimutan dito ni hubby yung Kalamansi Juice nila, masarap pag hot.. sayang yung specialty na drink nila wala yung Kamias...

Winner nga ang Zubuchon lechon! At yung pickled veggies and Kamias shake, panalong combi, pantanggal ng umay. Di ko type yung sisig-stuffed squid. Masyadong strong yung herbs.

Matamis na maasim-asim, sis. Parang uminom ka ng green mango shake, pero kamias ang lasa. Nasarapan talaga ako dito. Well, mahilig din kasi ako sa green mango shake.

speaking of rico's lechon, they already opened a restaurant in ridges, mabolo. you can try it there it's more convenient.

i love lechon that's why Zubuchon was on top of our must-try list when we visited cebu a few weeks ago. their lechon has a chinese spice aftertaste which i'm not fond of. the skin, while very crispy, was also very salty. Cnt lechon for me is better. pero the kamias shake was very good.

We also go to try Casa Verde and La Marea. Food at Casa verde is very good. We liked everything we ordered especially their ribs.  and it's reasonably priced. La Marea's warm brownie cup was a winner. it was soo good i've been craving for it ever since.

^ ok nga daw ang Rico's Lechon nung bday ni pokwang ito pinarequest niya buti na lang pwedeng umorder sa cebu tapos via plane deliver dito sa manila... kaso effort lang pag dayo sa lugar ng Rico's sana meron man lang sila sa malls sa cebu para mas madali...

^ Rico's lechon has another stall along Panagdait Mabolo.. Nakakatawa kasi taga Cebu ako pero never ko pa natikman yang warm brownie cup ng La Marea.. What makes it good ba?

Ladies, sinong naka-try nang kumain sa Lantaw Floating restaurant in Mactan? Masarap ba yung food nila or hype lang? Kamusta yung presyo nila?

^ wow sis mukhang maganda yung restaurant nila ah pricey siguro dun... pero sa Mactan ang na-try ko pa lang dun yung Sutukil, ok naman para den paluto sa Dampa Macapagal..

hindi masarap sa lantaw pero maganda ang view. they also opened one in busay. by the way this is not in mactan but exact location is cordova, which is farther than mactan. price is ok. pero if gusto nuo ng masarap, golden cowrie, hukad or kuya j's is better.

another secret food spot: rather going to larsian which is dirty and crowded, try yakski bbq instead. clean, maayos, mura at masarap! its near capitol site

i dont like zubuchon, its bland for me.

try nyo cebu's original boneless lechon in parkmall. or tatangs in as fortuna.

other restos u can try in it park:
east west - masarap food and crepes nila
irie gastropublika and ila puti - same owner
abuhan for pochero

im from cebu, and i could say ang daming hidden food restos dito...
