Tingin ko, maximum price na yan para kung may complication. 86k kasi sa aken, naka lamaze/birthing room at small private room ako then 4-5 days ako nagstay. How much naman daw sa polymedic?

Sorry for the late reply.. I worked there before sa del room.. I dont know exactly sis kasi sa ward nagbibigay ng hosp bills ng pt.. But they have packages for as low as 50k.. Try to ask your ob..

^Is the pedia required to be there at delivery? Mine wasn't and when my OB did a CAS she also said she would ask the pedia to be at the delivery if they saw anything wrong on the CAS. Otherwise no need for the pedia to be there.

My pedia came to check on my baby the next day. My daughter was born at 11PM and the pedia saw her 10AM the following day.

Interesting that your bill decreased since your last birth. Our total bill was about 110K but I stayed 4D/3N so my baby can have her NBS.

My only complaint on Cardinal - the nursery viewing is too small!! Plus the door to the breastfeeding room is where people pass to go to the nursery so sometimes people can see you while you are breastfeeding.

The ideal set up for deliveries, really is that there is a pedia present esp when there are complications for both mom and the baby.. But most of the time pedia consultants arent available.. But pedia residents are there 24 hours, and they update the consultants every now and then..

Yup, there was a resident pedia present during my delivery. She also expained what they would do as soon as my baby was delivered, what vaccines, etc. I never thought to ask for the pedia to be there hehe

Hi Everyone, I am in SG right now but during our vacation last Christmas nagpacheckup ako kay Dra Letty Chua, I forgot her last name May kasunod kasi yun Chua nya eh.. hehe!

Anyways, she quoted us 80K for Normal (No Complications) and 160k for CS (No complications). Ganun ba talaga yun? Double the price for CS? And also not sure if meron sanyo under kay Dra Chua, let me know if ok naman ba sya. First time ko lang kasi cia nameet, 6 months ako nun last Dec. EDD ko is end of April.

50k ata PF nya. So if you can recommend someone.. Or normal rate un sa Cardinal?

My two hospital choices for giving birth to my first baby this coming August are Cardinal Santos and St. Lukes QC. Currently leaning towards Cardinal Santos because it seems to be a bit cheaper than St. Lukes QC and also because I heard you have a choice of nursery or room in. Whereas in St. Lukes, they require the babies to be roomed in with you no matter if you're NSD or CS.

Is Cardinal Santos a pro breastfeeding hospital? Can anyone share their recent experience regarding the hospital's breastfeeding policy especially if you chose to place your baby in their nursery right after delivery? Thats what I plan to do kasi, nursery pero breast fed sana. Thanks in advance!

our pedia! Dr. Joy Ty-Sy. She did not make it for the delivery! which is one of the most important parts of her job. But, later that day and until the next morning when i asked has she dropped by to see the baby she still had not come. She came 1 and a half days later....So i was extremely annoyed at her..... Every person we paid at that hospital i felt happy to pay them as they had earnt their money, except dr. Joy ty-sy, it felt like i was paying her so much to basicly do nothing.

This is Dr Joy Sy, I'm deeply HURT and saddened by your allegations and the way you felt during your stay in the hospital under my care.

Please allow me to clarify certain facts-

Your baby was born last Jan 6 at 5:54 am on a Sunday. My senior resident on-duty informed me about your delivery around 6:30 am and I came at exactly 9:15am of the same day (Sunday morning) to check on your baby and order several tests. I wasn't able to talk to you personally at that time because you were still resting at the Recovery Room but asked the nurses to inform you that I already checked your Baby and that he's A-OK.  The following day, I visited you at the room and checked your baby at 8:45am and we discussed about breast feeding and newborn care. On Day 3 of your hospital stay which is January 8, 2013 at 8:30 am , I made my rounds and gave my discharge orders and we agreed to see each other after 1 wk for follow-up. So it is NOT true that I came to see your baby only after a DAY and a HALF.

( BTW, I retrieved the medical chart today to make sure that I gave accurate information).

With regards to "attended" delivery , I do it upon the request of the OB-Gyn if we are expecting a "complicated " case or if the mother wants me to be present. This is usually pre-arranged or scheduled ahead of time with the mother who expects to deliver via C-section. Other times, for Normal Spontaneous Delivery where the schedule of delivery is not predictable, I try to make it a point to go to the Delivery Rm esp during work days (Mondays thru Saturdays).

Lastly- regarding the professional fee, my secretary informed me that she extended an 8.3% discount to your husband when he asked for it. Please check again  OR# 1175 issued Jan 8,2013 - VAT inclusive. If my professional fee was an issue, you could've personally approached me ANYTIME and I would be more than willing to hear you out. Especially because we have known each other for years  since your first child was born. That is certainly NOT a problem.

In my many years of pediatric practice- it has never been my intention to shortchange my patients in terms of the medical service I give. I make rounds as soon as I'm informed -even on holidays or  regularly on Sundays. I also hold clinic on most holidays if I'm here in Manila so there's no reason why I would miss 1.5 days before seeing a patient cuz I'm practically in the hospital every single day of the entire week. Pediatric care, daily rounds is not basically "DOING NOTHING" just because there was no procedure done or anesthesia given.  I hope this settles the issue and clarifies the matter or any misunderstanding. I value your opinion so I took time to go over this and answer thoroughly. Should you wish to discuss this further - you are very welcome to drop by my clinic or call me anytime.

I will be a dad soon, me and my wife is considering cardinal santos because of its nice, good quality hospital, i also heard that pedia Dr. Joy Ty Sy is one of the best pedia there in the hospital, mainly because she really a breastfeeding advocate, always present even holidays and does not charge double for it, and also she replies to text messages asap unlike other doctors who reply after 1 day, she starts earlier than her clinic time if there are patient already, and the best part is you can always talk to her about doctors fee, i hope me and i wife can go to manila and have her as our pedia, hearing all of these good words from our friends.  As what my friends have said she is a good pedia and children loves her

1. Experience - at least 20 years of practice
2. Caring and Sincere Service (May pagmamalasakit)
3. Hinde mukhang pera

Try Dra Carmela Madrigal-Dy, she was my OB, and I'll definitely get her again for my next baby in the future. She's pro-normal delivery, I was able to deliver via lamaze with her as my OB. And I can say na may malasakit sya and hindi mukhang pera. Just not sure though how many years she's been practicing. But I think she's in her middle or late forties.

I was also in my 30th week when i transferred to her.

My OB is Dra. Patricia Luna-Sun, she is so nice. I felt at ease the moment I met her. She gave me her mobile number and I could text her anytime if I felt anything was wrong. I delivered via NSD with her even though my baby had a cord coil around her neck. She stayed by my side nearly the entire time of my labor, as in she was the one monitoring my contractions.

I will definitely go back to her for my second baby.

 Been backreading but I still can't understand how packages are in cardinal. My ob is dra. Aguilar and wanted to find out if she is included in any kind of package cardinal offers. I've heard of the economy package but super labo ng explaination sakin ng staff over the phone. Don't have enough time to swing by the hosp. To those who already gave birth in cardinal, who was your ob, pano yung breakdown and what are tips and tricks you learned to have a smoother giving birth experience? Am trying to make a list for my hubby. Firrst baby namin, 1 month 1week to go. OC ko lang talaga. Help sissies please!

^not sure if I can be of much help as when I gave birth I used my company's HMO so everything related to the delivery was covered.

As with any hospital, decide on the type of room  you want, I think many of the charges will be dependent on your room.

They itemize and charge every single item - cotton buds, rubber gloves, needles, etc.

I guess you could cut costs if you decide to room in your baby immediately.

Don't you have a checkup scheduled with your OB? If so, you can drop by the admin to ask them personally. I did that on one of my checkups and they explained naman to me the process.
