BEST DRIVING SCHOOL Thread 2

Been planning since last year to enroll at driving school, di ko lang magawa kasi wala akong student license, and I never wake up early enough to go to the LTO for one. Hehe.

I might go to Red1 for driving lessons, meron sa kanto from where I live in Taguig.

Twice na akong nag driving lessons sa A1 pareho pero different branch. Yung una sa SM North branch yung next sa Katipunan branch nila.
Naka kuha ako ng drivers license pero di naman ako naka pag drive until now. Ayaw ko sa A1, talagang naninigaw sila.
Plan ko mag aral mag drive ulit. Sana this time natuto ako. Sana yung 1 ride away lang sa bahay namin yung ieenrollan ko at sana mabait yung instructor.

^sayang naman ang mahal pa naman sa A1. Sana mag request ka na Lang ng specific instructor na kasundo mo na para madali kang matuto.

Sa 5 hours ko sa Red1, naka 3 instructors ako. Yung 1st and last hr instructor ko pinakamalumanay/malambot sa lahat. Yung 2nd hour, mukhang matapang mukha like Joko Diaz/Gary Estrada, Sabi niya wag daw ako matakot sa kanya. Yung 3rd-4th hour instructor ko Medyo tahimik, so Kung mabagal ka matuto, mabagal din siya magturo, so depende na sayo Kung sasayangin mo yung Oras mo sa pagiging mabagal. Lahat naman sila okay for me.
Since different instructors, I drove different cars din, altis and Vios, so mag adjust ka konti.

For practice, I transferred to a cheaper school pa. So far 2 out of the 3 assigned instructors ang na-try ko na. My 2-hour 3rd session I was able to drive a manual innova, ang laki niya, Buti na Lang never ako namatayan at npagbigyan ako sa gusto kong routa, from mabini/kalaw to Ortigas. Gusto ko kasi ma-experience mag drive sa mga papuntang malls, bridges, going home and central business districts. May natutunan pang routa sakin si instructor, Kasi taga Bulacan siya e. yung isa taga-batangas kaya pala okay Lang sa kanya mag drive kami sa south. Dapat Kasi Balkan kaya ng Oras mo, including the traffic and yung speed mo. So far pag bridges/flyovers I go around 45 kph Lang.

My problem na Lang is remembering that I am not on gear1 (no clutch) and when to go back to gear1 when slowing down or stopping. Sana di na rin ako pumping gas and pumping break.

I highly recommend socialites sa Cartimar. They have the most patient instructor. Finished my 7-hour driving class almost 2 weeks ago and I was able to drive on my own the day after. I survived edsa, katipunan and C5. I just followed the instructor's tips. Galing talaga.

Sabi ng friend ko mahirap daw mgdrive along EDSA Kasi maraming buses and traffic and hanging ka sa flyovers. Pero Sabi Ni instructor madali Lang high-way Kasi moving in one direction kayo, walang pasalubong saka malaki ang kalye naman, 4 lanes, avoid Lang u-turn slots, and loading/unloading buses.

Sa Red1 Kasi residential area dinaanan namin so always 2-way ang kalye, dapat umiwas sa mga pasalubong sayo, double parking pa so masikip, with some jeepneys and pedicabs, so Dapat take turns sa bigayan. Every kanto, usually no traffic light yun, you decide when it's safe na tumawid. Dami pang roadworks ngayon. My speed is only 20 kph pag ganun.

Kulang pako sa manibela, lalo na pag NASA rotunda paikot daming merging, mejo natataranta ako na ang daming tiltingnan at iiwasan, at dim bumubusina, si instructor humahawak sa wheel kc Baka ako magasgasan. Pero yung nagtahan to v.mapa to shaw na pa-curve S ang streets okay naman manibela ko, Siguro kc comfortable ako sa mga streets na yun I pass through everyday riding a jeep or FX.

I don't have a car yet so no chance to drive alone. But I'm thinking of renting self-drive car nga  e. I haven't gotten my non-pro lic, I learned kc one my friends just driving a motorcycle is actually a pro.

^nakadaan din ako sa residential areas and masisikip na daan during my driving classes. My classes were during weekends only. Hindi kami ng C5 and Katipunan. I tried it on my own after ko mgdriving school.

Tinuruan ba kayo how to drive in the flood?

Yung always step-on gas basta may flood, so never ka ng mag-break pad. Clutch yung breaker ko for stopping & moving slowly.

Sisses, pls recommend naman a good and affordable driving school in Las Pinas area, near RFC/Manuela. Yung patient ang instructors. TIA sa mga sasagot!

Guys, try Honda Cars Kalookan Driving School. Mababaet instructor dun, si Sir Mhel at Sir Renzy, before i enrolled at Honda Driving School, i do some research, read forums and so far wala pa kong nakikitang bad comment/negative about them, so I'd tried to enrol then. Yes! Mababait nga sila, magagaling at Maliwanag pa magturo. Pasensya na kayo bias ako sa Honda Driving School, kase naman, my experience is a great learning and i wanna share my story to all of you. Sabihin na nating, mataas ang presyo nila, pero kung worth it naman, why not di ba?

I hope this message helps a lot to the readers who find it hard to search for a good driving school. I will not forced you to Honda Driving School sabe nga sa isa sa mga poster dun sa kanila, *Customer Satisfaction* yun! quality service. socialites caloocan. i had my driving lessons there, yung pinakamura (5hours). wala talaga akong alam when i enrolled. so far, nakakapagpatakbo naman ako ng car. hindi lang talaga ako pwede mag-isa. hehe. maybe after 1week in EDSA siguro, makakapagdrive nako mag-isa. also, the instructors in socialites caloocan are okay, hindi naninigaw, super patient. the other instructor nga is funny eh, pinapatawa ako habang we were on the road kasi sobrang concentrated na daw ako sa road.

Update: Nag inquire lang ako sa Reyes Driving Institute today ang kina-endingan napa-enroll na ako. Ang ganda kasi ng offer nila 10 hours practical plus free one hour tapos optional na 3 hour lecture all for only php4,699! At ang pinaka gusto ko pa, iisa ang instructor ko for the entire lesson!Excited ako na kinakabahan.

Hi. Sino naka-try na sa Socialites Driving Institute dun sa JP Rizal cor Mkt Ave branch or CNR Driving School or Universal Driving School near makati city hall? Pa share naman ng experience kasi di ako makapili And if beginner ako meaning no experience talaga, can I still get yung 5 hours or should I get the 10 hours? TIA!

Mga sis, I'm done na with my 10 hours (plus free 1 hour) lessons at Reyes Driving Institute. Ok naman sya for php4,700. My instructor was nice and patient and magaling magturo pero he was a shameless flirt! Di ko alam kung kasama yun sa pagpapa relax sakin pero I made it clear naman from the first day na married na ako. Pero di naman yung manyak type na flirting. Yung patawa type lang pero madalas kinukuha nya kamay ko na pa-joke.

Anyway, despite that, natuto naman ako. Ang hindi lang naturo sakin ay parking. Feeling ko we could have covered more had he 1: flirted less and 2: not stopped for "lectures." Pag may mga mali kasi ako, tumatabi kami sa mga bakanteng lote at mag lelecture muna sya. May tendency akong mag panic attack pag nasa mga places na feeling ko walang matatakbuhan in case of danger (or in case na c-CR ako, hehe) kaya pag ganun, sinasabi ko wag kaming matagal na nakatigil. He obliges naman (and to be fair, may mga ibang cars sa paligid na mga training vehicles din ng ibang driving schools, pero ewan ko ba, mas komportable ako pag umaandar kami, kahit sa traffic pa, basta wag lang kami dun sa mga walang gaanong tao at sasakyan).

Here's my experience (per day/lesson):

Day/Lesson 1: The usual pag start ng car, stopping, gears, etc. Dun lang kami sa subdivision na katabi ng driving school umikot.

Day/Lesson 2: Review ng tinuro last lesson. Focus kami sa pag timpla ko ng clutch and gas. Nag turning na rin kami. Medyo sa ma-traffic na lugar na kami nagpunta nito.

Day/Lesson 3: Timpla pa rin ng clutch. Sa heavy traffic na kami nito. Ok naman, kakangalay lang. He taught me 2-pt turn and 3-pt turn.

Day/Lesson 4: Sa highway na kami. Mas maganda na ko humawak ng steering wheel by this time at second nature ko na tumingin sa mga mirrors ko at sa mga blind spots (unlike nung first 2 days na he had to tell me pa when and where to look). Ok na timpla ko ng clutch at gas, di na ko namamatayan.

Day/Lesson 5: Nag C5 kami pero bago kami nakarating dun, pinadaan nya ko sa mga squatters area na super sikip at maraming batang nagtatakbuhan, mga nagba-bike, etc. Keri lang basta mabagal lang ako at alert. Dami rin naming dinaanang major intersections. Tinuruan na rin nya ako sa hanging.

All in all I can say na sulit naman yung binayad ko. Need ko na lang talaga ngayon mag practice using my own car kasi luma at medyo mabigat yung kotse ko eh yung kotse sa driving school napakagaan na Vios. Nanibago nga ako agad kanina when I drove my own car. Sarap tuloy bumili ng brand new, hehe. Wish me luck!
