my bf is in the outsourcing business. It is based in Manila and the clients are from the US. So medyo sad siya ngayon kasi di na 50php- 1usd. But it is still doing fine. hehe he just really has a good manager na maiiwan niya yung business niya doon. He just makes calls on what he wants them to do tapos date na kami =)

Nag iisip siya ngayon ng business na kumikita ng PHP.

I think I read somewhere that you're supposed to save 10% of your income.

I'm nearing my 30's and I need to get serious with my savings.

Since my parents don't really have much to leave me, (just a couple of items like kitchen stuff and utensils) and even if they do I don't want to count that into my net worth. Why? Because its their money.

I am currently reading a lot of financial blogs and books as well.

I recently came across an EIP from BDO. Its investing made easy. I's still researching on this but I think its a good idea. ^_^ you gals, might want to check that out. ^_^

The house we moved into 2 years ago is mine and has a net worth of about P2.2M. So does that make me a millionaire? But I don't feel like it. I also got a hand-me-down car but never got to use it now that my driver's license is expired and a partial ACL tear on my right knee.  I have P70k invested in stocks (kung ano man yung current value na ng stocks ko, I haven't checked) , around P65k in cash deposits and gadgets galore. - A 31 yr old workaholic/investment freak..

hello, i earned my 1st million 7 yrs ago. I was 23 then. I earned more or less 70-90k/month in the next 3 yrs after that. I saved all my money in the bank until one day my tita who's too bossy decided to lend it to her kumare and guaranteed the amount to me. To make the long story short, hindi ako nabayaran. Those were my hard earned money, hindi hingi sa parents ko. I filed a case and for 4 yrs wala pa din ako nasisingil. Hope what happened to me will be a lesson to you guys. Take care of your money kahit sabihin pa natin relatives sila. Hindi sa pagdadamot but you worked hard for it. Kc kahit gusto ka nila bayaran pero wala naman silang ipapambayad, ikaw pa din talo.

What happened to me, i didn't took it lightly. I got depressed for 2 yrs. I dont want to go out, to talk to people, etc. As in parang gumuho yun mundo ko. Now 2011 im more optimistic. If i did 7 yrs ago, i can make it happen again. I just need to believe in myself. Goodluck to us!

I am 34 years old, 2 kids
assets amount to 4.7M (house, car, dollar and peso deposits, collectibles, jewelry, appliances and furniture, gadgets), liabilities 1.9M (primarily house loan which is automatically paid when i die and a few thousand pesos na credit card and salary loan)

suma total net worth ko is 2.8M Pesos but only 125 thousand pesos liquid lang. like the others, i have my money tied sa house and car.

Its not a lot of money or wealth so I have another way of calculating my net worth

do i have good relations with my family - check
do i have quality friends - check
do i have a good job - check
do i get to travel - check
am i able to help others - check
do i feel secure (street crimes) - check
do i have a partner who I love and loves me back - check
have i written a book - check
have i borne a child - check
have i planted a tree - check

do i have enemies - i can think of one lang..

all in all i feel very very wealthy.. ahahaha!!!

Well, I cant say what my net worth is because I dont see myself as something that can tantamount to money. If you post a certain amount equivalent to your net worth, hinde mo ba maiisip na 'ah ok yon lang pala ang worth ko...'.

i think "net worth" here implies financial net worth--hence, the monetary figures (it being categorized under work and money), its just that some posters interpret it in another way...which is totally ok too.  it only means that two people can look at the same object and still view it differently.

i have to say.. computing one's net worth is not funny..
its being responsible with your own assets and liabilities.. part of budgeting yan and being financially in control..

i rarely compute for my net worth financially, in fact i count my blessings more, i even have even compiled a list of "things to be thankful for and be happy about".

and yes, I receive at least 10 I Love Yous and give back same amount everyday.. kasi may net worth is high.. hehe.. peace!

thanks for pointing that out. maybe i should start preparing statement of assets and liabilities ko annually even if its only for my own documentation.

i do that with my assets abroad. but yung asset ko sa pilipinas, i only have a rough estimate about it. every uwi ko lang kasi ko inaayos.  i can't trust anyone to do it for me just yet heheh. i am an old school weheeh

half of it is liquid but take note, i don't have a car   i gave this up since it's very impractical in my situation right now.
