Hello mommies

First and foremost, I want to greet all the mothers here ... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !!!

Manghingi lang po sana kami ng feedback about two catholic schools in Quezon City - Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and St. Francis Xavier Parochial School.

Me and my hubby are considering this two schools for our daughter ... since they are both catholic schools but very affordable. The thing is Xavier is a little bit far from our place ... but may service naman ... so carry na. However, in Xavier my daughter is considered as an incoming Kinder (K1) student while in Rosary, she is only accepted as Nursery. My daughter turned four (4) last March. Both school are very affordable ... what matters to us is the QUALITY education that our daughter can get. Good and negative feedbacks are very much welcome ... and be of big help to us (so as with the others here) knowing more and assessing these two catholic schools ... in making our final decision.

^ Check mo lang sis on the way they name grade levels. I have a feeling Kinder 1 sa kanila is Nursery din, iba lang ang tawag. Kasi your daughter is only 4.

Iba-iba kasi pagpangalang ng schools:
Nursery-Kinder-prep
Kinder 1-kinder 2-kinder 3
First step-nursery- kinder  (sa miriam)

.... pero pare-pareho lang yan, nusery, kinder, prep in levelling. Kasi after niyan tatlong yan, Grade 1 na.

c) Highschool: 1st year to 4th year

i just enrolled my daughter who is incoming gr 2 at LA CONSOLACION coll.. binan campus..
grabe ang sakit din sa bulsa huh.. and ang uniforms i dunno if allowed bumili outside ng uniform since ultimo buttons eh personalized na meron name na la-co... and sana din worth it ang tuition nila para sa anak ko...

any feedback on ST. James College Paranaque at ska sa Immaculate Heart Mary College near munisipyo ng paranaque. Im a bit confused kasi kung san mas maganda/quality ang turo. sa St. James, private school sya..yng immaculate heart, managed by nuns/sisters... although both are malapit [textspeak!] sa house namin..any feedback, positive or negative are very much welcome...thanks in advance

hi sis, we just enrolled our son at Don Bosco Mandaluyong for grade 1. 52k tuition fee. So far sa feedbacks ng mga kakilala ko ok naman. wala pa kong nareceived negative feedbacks.

hi! my daughter is also in st. scholastica's manila, she's in grade 2 now. so far, we really love her school. here are some of the reasons:

1. SSC instills the value of simplicity - bawal ang maaarteng accessories at mamahaling gamit
2. SSC trains the girls to be responsible - sabi dun sa circular, kung may naiwan na project sa bahay ang anak, huwag na ihatid sa school ng magulang yung project kasi part yun ng training sa kanila to be responsible.
3. students are taught to be socially aware - prep pa lang meron na silang matinding training on the electoral process, complete with voter's ID and certificate of candidacy (for those running for positions). nakakabilib lang.
4. DEAR time - drop everything and read. my daughter and i appreciate this so much because we both love reading books. i'm happy that SSC is the kind of school that seriously encourages its students to read. sa schedule ng daughter ko, their DEAR time is after lunch.
5. clubs - friday is club meeting day. eto yung parang extra-curricular activities na kasama talaga sa regular schedule nila. kids get to choose their own clubs, like green thumbs, young artists, book lovers, etc.

so far i am very satisfied sa CGF Academy. ang mga teachers, sobrang babait and obvious na caring talaga.

they just had their first field trip yesterday.

san beda alabang-nursery tuition is around 78thou.they don't have books yet.they have mandarin lessons.for kinder level, they started a robotics program.next year, they plan to fully integrate robotics to preschoolers.

manresa-nursery tuition is around P42thou.my son took the entrance exam there and passed, but we decided not to pursue it.

dlsz-entry level is junior prep (kinder level in other schools).junior prep tuition is around 97thou plus a one-time capital devt fee of 30thou.they have grade 7.i called their registration office several times to ask questions and was received very well.i plan to intensively research on the school's curriculum and facilities prolly around oct this year.i also inquired on the school's bus service provider and their fees are quite reasonable, they're accommodating too because they're willing (at least the one servicing our area) to waive additional fee for the yaya who will ride the bus together with the student. they allow "kandong" for preschoolers if the bus is full otherwise they don't mind if yaya and child sits individually.

naku nakakalula na tlaga ang mga tuition. 

bat kaya may mandarin lessons na sa sbc. during my brothers time [textspeak!] silang ganun (though super dati pa yun).  would you know if its optional o required tlaga?  i emailed them last week kung pwede mag sked ng visit pro till now [textspeak!] pa.  siguro next week puntahan namin yung school along with the other 2.

san na nag aral son mo?  why didnt you enroll your son in Manresa?  sa 3 schools, im not too keen in enrolling my son sa Manresa but yung dad ng anak ko gusto Manresa [textspeak!] daw pinaka mura.

this is #1 on my list pro super mahal and i don't get that development fee kahit na payable in 2 years.  pang facilities daw.  di ba dapat [textspeak!] na sa tuition yun.

i was also looking at southridge kaso they don't allow kids na unmarried yung parents.  just like xavier :/

^matagal nang may "development fee" ang dlsz.  it used to be termed differently before though.
why don't you check it out first baka naman magustuhan mo when you see the school na.  i spent
some of the best years of my life there.  best thing about it is, it's coed.  if only we live near pa
rin i'd probably send my kids there too.

I'm looking for a school for my children (2 boys), preferably in QC/Pasig area, I'm leaning on Reedley and their previous school, PAREF as back-up, we want an Int'l School sana in preparation for college abroad, any feedback on Reedley?  Baka kasi overrated lang.  I can't send them to Fort or Magallanes for Singapore school which is really my first choice, too far na and I don't want to stay in Pasig anymore.  Any feedback on Reedley please.

Parang mixed reviews ang Reedley eh.  One thing that struck me was a post in the old thread here saying that Reedley is known as a party school.

i get mixed reviews din with reedley.  one thing positive is that they adapt the 7 habits of stephen covey as their mantra and development for the students.

but, i worked in a big school and encountered students who cannot thrive in big schools moving to reedley.  i have a colleage who also worked there but does not like the school.  thats all i know.

on reedley, my cousin studied there for high school. based on her and her group of friends, i'd say yes  it's more of a party school. plus, students who get kicked out of the bigger schools (i.e. ateneo, la salle), moved to reedley.
