^ sis, do not despair.  My student number starts with 89.

Meron palang ganitong thread.  I spent 8 years in UP Diliman.   4 years at the School of Economics and 4 years (+ 1/2 year bar review) at the College of Law.  Those were some of the best years of my life.

question mga iska at isko, anong naging epekto ng pagiging taga-UP natin sa mga sarili natin? Especially sa trabaho?

Ako, share ko lang. I took up BS Statistics sa Elbi. I was supposed to take Civil Eng pero naengganyo ako ng high school teacher ko dati na stat na lang kasi mas challenging, mas mayaman. syempre bata ako nun, masyado pa akong idealistic. 3rd year na ko nung narealize ko na mahirap pala at hindi yun ang interest ko. so I took a minor course which is finance management and was planning to switch courses to management. kaso katamaran mag ayos ng papers, di ko ginawa. so nung time na ng SP (thesis) ko, hindi ko kinaya. Dati natatawa ko kapag nabalitaan ko na yung ibang kabatch ko nasa call center na, pero karma is digital. Sa call center din ako bumagsak. I stayed sa ganung industry for more than 3 years, until I changed my path to Research.

Somehow, math-related pa din. Kayo, were you able to pursue your degree or sa ibang industry din kayo napadpad?

^ Sis, Stat ako sa UPD hehe.  I just resigned from my job dahil nabo-bore na ako... pero ang totoo, di kami magkasundo ng boss ko LOL. 

Di naman malayo sa course ko ang mga naging trabaho ko.  Madami naman kasing applications ang Stat, iba-ibang industries.  Nga lang, di nga lang masyadong nagagamit ang Stat sa mga pinili kong trabaho. =)

Corny nga eh. Kailangan talaga daw na isuot at all times. Pero marami naman ang nakakalusot. Haha. Kahit kilala na ako ng guard, sinisita pa rin ako kung hindi ko suot ang ID.

Although para sa building namin, for security purposes yung dahilan. There was an incident where non-students entered the building and binugbog nila yung isang studyante na nag-sSTS.

I so miss UP. I graduated with a degree in Geography.
Although I want to pursue a career related to my field of study, currently my situation won't allow me because of location. So sad.. Hopefully in the future I can successfully transition to my field of study, sayang kasi ang mga opportunities..

Anyway, nice to see fellow UP peeps here in GT.
