Seriously, it is a sweet thought. Storing wine in manila is a b***h though and I am not sure if we have any sommeliers who can make a good recommendation. I'd love to hear what happens to this situation. Please keep us posted as to what you decide and avail of. Cheers!

How would I distinguish a champagne from the other wines? Kung nakalagay ba na sparkling wine, it's considered champagne?


Which  brand that is not so pricey can you recommend ? Where can I buy a good one?

I want to start drinking wine too! Kagabi kasi we had dinner then we had one bottle of australian moscato. Di ko naitanong yung brand pero nasarapan ako

^^Champagne only comes from Champagne, France. You cannot call any sparkling wine champagne if it did not come from this region.

If you want to drink good and not too expensive white wine or chardonnay, go for Australian brands.

My favorite winery is Wine Depot because they have friendly staff and a casual atmosphere, and you can sample some of their featured wines at the store.

As for recommendations, our staples now are Veramonte chardonnay (89 pts) and cabernet sauvignon. Each around P500.

Also, try to finish a bottle in one sitting. At most, 2 days/nights. Nag-iiba ang lasa ng wine. Umaasim/pumapakla. I use unfinished bottles for cooking na lang.

Last week puro white wine ang natitikman ko. Yung masarap na moscato na natikman namin sa Circles, nahanap ng mommy ko sa S&R. Rosemount Australian Moscato. Mabango and sweet. Ang refreshing. Around 800+php siya.

Yung isa naman na natry ko Jacob's Creek na Riesling sa Viking's mga 3 days ago. Mabango siya kaya akala ko magugustuhan ko pero naasiman ako so di ko naenjoy masyado.

Yung martini ba ay wine rin? nakatry din kasi ako last week and naenjoy ko rin siya.  Asti Martini yung brand.

My favorite Italian sparkling wine is Prosecco (available in different brands).

im not a wine drinker but would like to go on a wine tour one day out of curiosity. we have a lot of wineries here, big and small and would like to visit one. i prefer fruity red wines. i get a lot of wines as gifts during the holidays. still have maybe 3 unopened bottle. others i re-gift.

I recently got interested in trying different wines. Here's what I tried so far:

Red:

1. Veramonte Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon - didn't like it - alcohol was too strong, it was difficult to drink

2. Jacob's Creek Merlot - too strong as well, hard to drink

White:

1. Veramonte Reserva Chardonnay - this one i liked

2. Yellow Tail Sauvignon Blanc - so-so


So far, not so happy... Or di lang talaga para sakin... Di ako nasasarapan...

Where can I buy a good bottle of Moscato D'Asti? I can go as high as 2K for a good bottle.

Also, where can I buy Pink Moscato (aside from the Yellow Tail brand)? Sold out sa Wine Depot yung DeBortoli Pink Moscato eh.

Saan pa ba kayo bumibili ng wine? I just tried Wine Depot and Yats. Wala ako nagustuhan sa wine section ng Rustans, SM and Cash n Carry.

Last weekend we were able to buy red and white Moscato - Bartenura brand for the white, and Barefoot for the red. This we would like to serve to guests for Thanksgiving. Not pricey at all.

In August we went wine tasting in upstate NY - bought a white and red sweet from a small production winery that doesn't sell commercially.
