i just wanted to share. i was required to take the ielts, siguro 3weeks before yung exam nagbook ako. naswerte rin kase same date ang speaking and the other test din... sa awa ni Lord okay ang score ko.

time consuming ang writing and reading exam nila.

listening part, a guy wants to reserve sa isang high end yacht club, ask lang siya ng mga amenities.

reading is about sa mga geologist na may nadiscover na bones ng animals na very young & they studied it.

writing. argh!
1st writing: sorry po pero cannot remember na this one, pero 150 words lang siya.
2nd writing: a before & after of an old place that was restored. ito yung sa 20 words madedescribe mo but you need to write at least 250 words.

speaking, nataon the interviewer asked me about myself and a very random question about noise.

ganun yung akin, pero between reading and writing, mas nahirapan ako sa writing coz the images can be describe in just 20 words or siguro 30 words lang. hinimay ko talaga yung picture. sa reading kase dapat lang  may mga "magic" words ka na hinahanap or yung talagang synonyms talaga ng mga words sa module vs sa questions.

i finished the writing exam mga 5-7 mins nalang before the time, eh as i was scanning what i wrote & editing this & that, nakita ko na pag hindi readable ang handwriting mo, nakakabawas pala ng word count yung hindi ma-read na words. so dapat hindi saktong 150 & 250 talaga.

To those who have taken their IELTS recently, how was your Speaking Test? I mean, was it like the ones shown in YouTube where you are asked to speak for a minute or two regarding a certain topic in Task 2 and then the interviewer asks follow-up questions? Because in my friend's experience (two years ago), he was asked to speak continuously about the topic on the Task Card for 15 minutes. The interviewer was squeezing a stress ball pa nga daw and not making any eye contact but he didn't allow it to distract him but whenever he'd stop because he was anticipating for a follow-up question, the interviewer would just gesture a hand signal for him to go on until the 15 minutes was over. Ganun din ba sa inyo? Hope someone shares his or her experience. Self-review lang kasi ako. Thanks!

^in my experience naman last year, topic 1 was ok, it's all about yourself. Topic 2, where you will be given 2mins, I think, to take notes, on the topic the interviewer chose for you to discuss, dito salita lang ako ng salita, tapos ika-cut ka ng interviewer, times up na kasi, hehe..sa 3rd topic, somewhat related to topic 2, where the interviewer will ask you questions, then every answer, may follow up question. parang debate ang nangyari, kasi may sinagot ako na, nagdisagree siya, tapos ieexplain ko further..ganon, for 12mins yung speaking test.

yung interviewer ko, minsan walang eye contact, ako lang nakatingin sa kanya, pero minsan napapatingin pa din ako sa wall, lol..tapos ako lang ngumingiti, siya hindi, intimidating ang aura, hehe

their practice tests are quite challenging. I want a grade of 8! But I did not practice that much because I was confident I can do it until I tried a practice test a week before my exam. Wow. Ang hirap pala makakuha ng grade of 8! hahaha ang taas kasi ng pangarap. Minimum of 7 on all parts and kelangan ko so good luck to me!

I just want to share pala that I already took my IELTS and I'm happy with the results. I took my IELTS (Academic Module) sa British Council. Some of us had our Speaking Test earlier than the rest of the exams and while waiting for the start of the exam sa hotel, some were sharing bout their Speaking Test experiences and parang nag-agree sila na intimidating daw pag Filipino interviewer. Mine was British based sa accent niya and he was nice, tumatawa pa nga minsan sa sagot ko and would just talk with me like we're having a normal conversation although he'd ask questions from the guide on the table.
