^sis, I'd like to recommend my rheumatologist, Dr. Ester Penserga. she's from UP-PGH (i think she was once PGH's head ng rheumatology), siya yung long-time rheumatologist ko since i was diagnosed with JRA nung mga 12 years old ako. may clinic din siya in front of PGH sa Taft, cute nga the clinic's name is Rayuma at Iba Pa Klinik :P anyway, she's very nice, and conservative when it comes to treatments/meds dosage (like ittry niya muna na low dosage if it works, para less negative side effects din if ever). earlier this year she was the one who diagnosed my dermatomyositis (joint pain and rashes din ang symptoms), as in hindi halos ako makagalaw even to lift my arms. now i feel so much better na, konting pain and rashes na lang. will PM you her clinic/contact details. hope you get better soon!

Thanks!

I'm only in my 30's.

Tapos I went to another rheumatologist sa Alabang, mas gusto ko approach nya tho pinagtake niya lang ako ng biogesic and some Glucosamine Chondoitrin supplements, rest and wear knee brace. I called up his clinic para bumalik kaya lang nagresign na yung doctor.

^^sis, re-posting what I said last year about my doc -- I'd like to recommend my rheumatologist, Dr. Ester Penserga. she's from UP-PGH (she was once PGH's head ng rheumatology), siya yung long-time rheumatologist ko since i was diagnosed with JRA nung mga 12 years old ako. may clinic din siya in front of PGH sa Taft, cute nga the clinic's name is Rayuma at Iba Pa Klinik hehe. anyway, she's very nice, and conservative when it comes to treatments/meds dosage (like ittry niya muna na low dosage if it works, para less negative side effects din if ever). noong 2012, she was the one who correctly diagnosed my dermatomyositis (joint pain and rashes din ang symptoms), as in hindi halos ako makagalaw even to lift my arms. now i feel so much better na, konting pain and rashes na lang.

Kailangan ba by appointment kay doc penserga?

Anyways, will give her a try. Thanks for the suggestion sis.

^ salamat sis sa recommendation mo na yan at malapit lang kami sa pgh area buti napadaan ako sa thread na to kasi dad ko sobrang dalas ng maga ng knees nya as in sabay pa minsan. Flanax really works for him pero if every other week sumasakit e baka masama din yung maraming intake ng flanax. Magpa appointment din kami dyan. Thanks.

@silverlilac.. sis hindi ako nakapunta sa clinic ni doctor pensarga nung thursday kasi nung tumawag ako cancelled lahat ng schedule niya so after one week pa daw ulit babalik. Anyways, so since nasa labas na ako my brother suggested na maghanap na lang ng rheumatologist sa Makati Med. May available naman at that time, Dr Lontoc pero after long hours of waiting hindi ako satisfied sa diagnosis niya. He just told me to get bilateral xray both knees.

Tapos bumalik ulit ako this tuesday afternoon with my xray result pero sabi naman wala daw makita sa xray ko. Sobrang disappointed ako kasi after waiting for almost 3 hours sa clinic niya wala man lang siyang maexplain kung ano ang cause, things to do and avoid, what meds to take, wala, sobrang tipid ng mga sagot niya kesyo you're too young to have knee pain or hereditary daw. I am so disppointed talaga at sobrang inis. Ang advice niya lang saken, to get MRI, baka daw sa cartilage or dahil nga sa wear and tear, balik ulit for follow up and baka magconsult na daw ako ng Ortho.

Hi sis!

Mahirap matanggap I'm prone na to osteoarthritis, sa akin lang sana tolerable ang pain and ayaw kong mahook sa pain drugs, side effect is either kidney or liver damage.

Good luck sis.

So parang nadala ako.

@dacian which part ka may arthritis and for how long, what meds do you take?

@geek I am already 41 yrs old, I had a vehicular accident 3 years ago I was 37 at that time, may kakaunti akong fracture sa acetabular roof (pakisearch na lang), as in ang liit pero naalala ko grabe ang hirap ko noon, wala namang operation pero naka traction, parang cast pero hindi naman semento sis, natatanggal naman siya pero sinuot ko iyon for 2months para maging stable ang fracture. then afternoon nagtherapy ako. I was back to normal walang pain then suddently after 3 years last december parang nag-stiff muscle ko sa right hip and ayun na pabalik balik until naging constant. Well right now may pain ako, had my 3rd session tapos namasyal kami kahapon kaya nanibago. I worked in the medical field pero paperworks ha, kaya may alam ako, ang problem nga sa sobrang alam ko nauunahan nako ng fear...hehe kaya ni-re-relaks ko lang sarili ko.

There are 3 prevalent types of arthritis in our country.
1. Osteoarthritis, usually due to wear and tear or degenerative nga kumbaga. Common sa weight bearing joints (hips, knees). Maganda dito weight loss or supplementation of glucosamine/chondroitin.
2. Rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune and common sa women, sharp pain and immobility sa morning or pag malamig. Usually nasa fingers or toes.
3. Gouty arthritis, due to high uric acid. Basta may gravity since dense and uric acid crystals. Medications for hyperuricemia can also help.

Hope this helps. :)

I started having pain on my right foot due to wearing heels. I thought may pilay na ako or bone spur so I had it x-rayed. Then the ortho prescribed me Celecoxib/Celebrex as anti-inflammatory. Nag-improve naman, but my right foot is never the same, though the pain is more tolerable. But I just wear flats na for 2 years. Then just recently, I started taking Procosa, siguro after a week or two, grabe, sumakit ulit ng sobra ang paa for 1 whole week, after that nawala na. Not sure if it was the uric acid crystals being detoxed kaya it got painful.

Hi mga sis, after requesting for an mri, I dont have arthritis at all, what I have was gluteus medius tendonitis. ang hirap kasi 2 doctors suggested physical theraphy tapos iyong physiotherapist iyon din suggestion.

My left knee is super painful and my legs too kapag naglakad ako wearing flat shoes, and my legs are achy kapag nagluluto or nag preprepare ng food, or nakatayo ng matagal. I hope it's not arthritis cause i'm just in my early 40's. :( Any doctor you can recommend in Medical City?

My father has arthritis, for like 6 years na.
It really changed his life, there are lots of things na hindi na nya kayang gawin like before.. Then we heard about acupuncture,a natural treatment for arthritis.. We went to an alternative medicine clinic in quezon city for his acupuncture treatment hoping na matutulungan nila ang father ko.

In that clinic, my father had his check up, okay yung doctor, matiyaga nyang inexplain yung condition ng father ko then he had acupuncture treatment for 30 minutes.. I was inside the treatment room so nakita kung simula nung itusok at tanggalin yung mga needles. So after 30 minutes they remove the needles, and the doctor asked my father to move and stretch his legs..
I was quite surprised when my father said right at that moment that the pain was reduced immediately. .
Those words came out from his mouth, from the person whose been suffering in pain for already 6 years.. I was so happy, really happy, I felt like he is back, nakita ko sa kanya na nagkaroon siya ulit ng new hope.. Sobrang saya lang talaga.. We will be back to continue his acupuncture treatment :)
