hi mga sis im on my 26w now, we did ultrasound nung 22w & 2d ako & the doctor said that my placenta is implanted posteriorly with grade I changes, di na ako nakapag ask sa doctor about it kasi rush na ko to go to work,  ano po ba normal position ng placenta? i was thinking kasi baka mas painful ito compare pag anterior??

i know someone w/ placenta implanted posteriorly, wala namang problem ok naman she gave birth normally a month ago. I think low-laying placenta ang problematic.

on my last ultrasound (3rd month), i was diagnosed with grade 1 low lying placenta. my ob didnt ask me to rest naman totally basta wag lang daw ako matagtag. am very anxious to know kung tumaas ba placenta ko. Am on my 19th week now and so far i havent experienced anything alarming like abdominal pains or spotting so hopefully ok na sya by next ultrasound ko.

sis pareho tayo, low lying, wala ring pinagbawal ang doctor sa kin, she just asked me to come back on my third trim. para ma-check kung umangat ang placenta ko, wala ring any pains or spotting. pero ngayon feeling ko ang bigat ng tyan ko, nahihirapan ako lumakad. i'm wondering if it has anything to do with my low-lying placenta

Im not familiar with the grades, pero my placenta was low lying din around 22 months of pregnancy, 1cm away na lang from the opening. I asked my OB what I can do about it and she said none.
So I researched and found out that it's dangerous mostly for me when it totally blocks the opening. In most extreme cases, the mom can bleed heavily - non stop.
So I asked the opinion of another OB (more senior than my 1st OB), and marami sya pinagbawal, especially s*x. Pinag ingat nya ko kasi I still work, wag na daw mag stairs (I take stairs kasi ito lang exercise ko to avoid naman edema), rest as much as possible, madami pa I forgot na lang. So far ok naman, umakyat placenta ko and gave birth through NSD.
Sabi nila placenta usually goes up when the baby gets bigger, pero I don't want to take the risk by doing nothing.

@eeyore5147: sis ako 21 weeks nung nag ultrasound, at sa report 2.23 cm away from internal cervicl OS. Nagstairs ako pero once a day lang dito sa house para to get dressed to work. Working din ako. Tapos lakad ako from office to megamall mga 10mins walk yun.

So i assume yung paglaki at pagmove ng position depends on what they like :). Pero both babies ko breech din around 20-30 weeks, umaasyos na lang around 33 weeks. Helps din siguro i always massage my tummy while talking to them ba "baby your head should be here (touching the lower part of my tummy), para di ka mahirapan at si mommy ha". Every night ko gawa yun hehe.

31 weeks - placenta is posterior, grade 2.

33 weeks - placenta is anterior, high lying, grade 2.

ano ba ibig sabihin nito?

^antero-fundal means nasa front ng uterus yung placenta. high-lying is a safe location kasi its not blocking your cervix kung saan lalabas si baby. ang explanation sakin ni ob sa grade 1 is it means matagal ka pa manganak. it will progress to grade 2 pag medyo malapit-lapit na. grade 2 yung sakin when i had my ultrasound around 31 weeks. all in all, ok naman yung location ng placenta mo.

Grade refers to the maturity of your placenta, you want it to be the appropriate age in line with your pregnancy. I think stage 4 placenta means it has aged and is starting to degrade na which is dangerous for your baby.

Anterior/posterior is just where your placenta is located. It may make some ultrasounds harder to perform.

The only thing to worry about is low-lying or a placenta covering your cervix (placenta previa). In early pregnancy it is commonly low-lying and it can move upwards duing your pregnancy. If your placnta oesn't move and covers your cervix then cs is your only birth option.

I had a low lying placenta anterior with less than 1cm to my cervix, thankfully it moved up and i was able to deliver normally.

hello mga sis, normal lang din ba ang posterior placenta grade 2? nung first ultrasound ko kase placenta previa ako totalis. and by God's grace never akong nakaranas magbleed actually bed rest ako until now.
nakakatakot pero i know God is good all the time. lagi kong kinakausap si baby. then yesterday nung nagpaultrasoung ako ulit nakalagay dun posterior placenta grade 2 na. normal lang b un? tapos may nakalagay na breech presentation. going to 27 weeks n ako. hindi na kase ako makapaghintay na basahin ng ob ko [textspeak!] result ng ultrasound ko.  :)
salamat and God bless us!
