im currently backreading the part1 of preschools in qc.  habaaa!~

grabe pala, sobrang nao-overwhelm ako sa mahal ng tution fee ng mga pre-schools ngayon!  i guess the surprise comes from being raised in a middle-class family back in the 80s.  i myself started school pretty early, as in 2 1/2 yo lang daw ako nung nagstart ako mag-saling pusa sa class ng kuya who was already in grade 1.  wala yatang bayad yun?  after that i did nursery sa NFWC which is just walking distance from our place in sta. mesa.  im sure murang-mura lang tuition doon.  goverment employees lang ang parents ko so no way nila ma-afford ang exclusive schools.   private schools yes, pero exclusive schools, malabo.

sana lang makahanap ako ng ganung setup ulit.  taga-tandang sora near vizayas ave. nga pala ako.  im now looking for a play school / toddler school for my daughter who's turning 2 this coming december. looking forward to your replies, tia!

i plan to call UP-CDC to inquire about the 'raffle'. i read mga january daw yun?  anyway if we get lucky pag-aaralin ko na daughter ko agad.  if not, sa 2012 na lang.  she's just about to turn 2 anyway.

you might want to check out Books and Blocks Preschool in Tierra Pura. it's along the main road lang. It's a progressive school just like UP CDC parehong philosophy. they accept 2 year old kids sa toddler class

^ That's a good preschool.  My friend's sons went there.  She has praised the school.  Her sons are in Ateneo grade school now so maganda siguro ang foundation doon.

i'm not sure pero huli kong naalala its about 50 to 60K including meals na. teacher student ratio depends on the age. toddler class max is 12 with two teachers and 1 teacher aide, oldest class 15 kids: two teachers and 1 teacher aide

i used to teach there, career change lang ako. three of my nephews went there. gandang foundation - thrust namin is to build up the child's confidence para it's easier for them to learn
philosophy - A child learns through play. basically concepts are thought through play.

wow eksakto. we're looking for a pre-school for our son. he'll be turning 3 this april. we passed by books and blocks this morning.  tuition if you pay in full is 67k. it includes tuition, school materials and food.

we'll be checking out other schools in the tandang sora / congressional area in the next few days para ma-compare namin.

Hi Mommies! I have been reading Preschools in QCI thread for months now i think since last year pa, now na lang ulit kc palapit na pasukan , it's a good thing I saw this one. I have a 3.8 year old daughter and she wants to go to school na rin, dapat last year pa pero naisip ko parang masyado pang bata, but honestly medyo I was thinking na sana pinasok ko na sya last year so she could have socialize with other kids earlier, kc medyo shy sya with people lalo na pag hindi nya masyado nakakausap but she's really smart. I'm scouting for a very good school din in QC near Novaliches pero so far ang malapit:

School: Diliman Preparatory School Annex
Location: Talipapa Quezon City
Tuition Fee: P55717.00 excluding misc fees, uniform & supplies
Comment: Their admission for yr 2011-2012 is really early September 2010 pa lang then last day Nov 2010 so syempre tapos di na abot anak ko dito kung gusto ko sya dito mag-aral. Mommies if your kids are studying here kindly give feedback.

School: John Dewey
Location: Congressional (previously Mcdo)
Tuition Fee: 60-62k excludng uniform and supplies ang sabi sakin when I called
Comment: Progressive daw sila, ratio 16: 1 teacher & 1 teacher aide.
Yung anak ng neigbor namin (nag nursery sa Mirriam CSC eh lalaki kaya di na pwede dun mag kinder) inenroll nya sa tutorial ng John Dewey  for passing big schools like Ateneo (sya nga ngsabi itry ko din dun) nakapasa sa exam sa Ateneo so kinder na sya sa June. I don't know lang un preschool ng John Dewey kung okay so if you have feedback papost na lang.

Lastly, maybe any mommies here din may feedback sa St. John of Beverly near SM Novaliches kc I heard US trained daw un owner tapos advance daw teachings, un isa nmin neighbor dun mga anak nya tsaka friend ng husband ko nasa around 20k tuition fee.

Any recommendations near Nova QC? I want quality and syempre budget friendly. Thanks and more power sa school hunting natin mga Moms!

Kamusta preschool hunting? OK ba yung option na food included in the fees? Diba medyo nakakatakot what ur kid would eat in school and how it was prepared.

I need your info on this.

@Mamuconnie, my children's preschool provides snacks for the students.  Parents get the snack list for the month at the end of the previous month or during the first week of the month.  We also get the actual snack list served.  When there's a birthday party, the school does not prepare a snack.  We pay for snacks actually consumed.

At first, I insisted on making my children bring food to school.  But having sampled the food prepared by the school several times during parent-teacher conferences, seeing that the school's kitchen is well-maintained and clean, and ascertaining that the school does not serve junk, I gradually stopped making my children bring their own baon.  Doble gastos kasi if I pay for the snacks consumed in school and I buy their baon pa. 

Bottom line: whatever is comfortable with the parent should work.

^ For this coming school year, tuition is Php76,000 (single payment plan), Php77,500 (two-installment plan) and Php79,400 (four-installment payment plan) + miscellaneous fee of Php12,000 payable upon reservation of slot/confirmation of enrollment. The fees are inclusive of the Montessori materials.  No uniform.  Snacks are billed per month - around Php200-300, depending on your child's consumption.  If the child did not eat the snack for the day, you will not be billed.  Ditto if there was a birthday party in school.

By the way, walang levels like nursery, kinder, prep at Family Montessori.  The preschool class is composed of children aged 3-6 years old which is a typical Montessori class.  This arrangement has worked well with my children.

May summer class sa FM.  I don't know lang how much ang fee for the summer class.

Mga sis, I tried at UP CDC parang paraffle sya per age range, gender and if UP & Non UP parents. There are 3 slots open lang when I went there. Then nung bunutan na pang 3rd sa waiting list anak ko sobrang dami kc nagpass ng application forms, kaya not sure pa sya doon. Maybe if 3 girls will not enroll pwede pa.. pero just hoping hehe..

There is one very near N. Domingo. We recently visited it and it's a very good school. Name is Kinder Explorers Playschool. Look them up on FB they have an account there. I believe they have summer classes as well.
