may i share with you our impromptu trip to subic last saturday.
friday night i searched the net and called/texted acuatico, palm beach, canyon cove in batangas; and camayan, all hands, ocean view in subic, hoping they have one standard room available the following day, a saturday.
all of them replied they are fully booked. kaya when we woke up at 7am the following day, sa club manila east na lang sana ang punta namin. but i tried calling once more ocean view, and they had one customer who cancelled their reservation! so merong available! my husband and i, with my 6yr old son, immediately packed our things! hehe
we reached victory liner cubao around 10am. walang pila as in...the bus going via sctex will leave pa daw by 1130 so we decided to ride the express one going to olongapo. anyways, sabi ni bus driver, 10-15 mins lang naman daw ang diperensa kung may sctex ka man or express...at ganun din naman, pag inantay namin ang 1130, 12noon na makakaalis yun, 3pm na ang dating...
nung sumakay kami sa via express, the bus left at 1045, we reached olongapo at exactly 145 din. we dropped by mercury to buy sunblock. then sakay na kami ng blue jeep going to ocean view...
ROOM - standard, 2,500.00
- kung di ka maarte, pwede na itong tulugan. pero im sure if you have a car, and enough patience to resort-hop e marami ka pang mahahanap na mas mura or mas worth it sa 2500. ok naman ang room. we were able to get the beachfront (ang view mo e cottages, hindi mismo beach hehe). may aircon. the bathroom is not smal, not too big din naman. tama lang. there's hot and cold shower. may free 2 sunsilk sachets and soap. extra pillow costs 35.00 each pero ewan ko kung pangit lang ang natiempo saming extra pillow or talagang tira tirang bulak lang ang extra pillow nila..hehe...pero yung two pillows na kasama talaga sa room e ok naman.
BEACH - dito wala akong masabi. the sand is sooo fine. hindi sya black sand. hindi mabato sa tubig, as in ang sarap magbabad dahil ok ang tubig, fine sand, no jellyfish, etc. may mini slide along the shore na shallow water ang babagsakan mo. perfect for the kids. may two life guards sa magkabilang dulo ng beach. may mga jetski din for rent. island hopping meron din. we didn't try both, takot ako mapunta sa gitna ng dagat e...swimming is 24 hours, may ilaw talaga sila to guide night swimmers.
POOL - meron na pala nito. last time i was there kasi mga 12 years ago pa.maliit , pero ok naman, masaya na mga kids dito, may slide...kainis lang yung mga adults dahil they almost occupied the whole pool, picture lang ng picture...=)
FOOD/RESTO - siempre mahal. e dahil impromptu ito, and we dont have our ride, we had no choice but to eat sa resto nila. suuper expensive. 1 serving of imbutido, 4 slices, costs 200. ham and egg sandwich costs 100. sinigang costs 300. sus maryosep.
- buti na lang the owner was there when we ordered. . instead of 4 slices of embutido, she doubled it. hehe...that was lunchtime...,..nung breakfast naman we ordered tapsilog with free one coffee (180.00) and ham and egg sandwich with NO free drinks (100.00)...pero generous sila...instead of one, the waiter gave us two coffee...instead of none, the waiter gave us three glassess of orange juice pa kasama nung sandwich...then dinoble din ang serving ng tapa. as in naka two extra rice pa kami sa isang order lang ha... vip ata kami dun.
nagbrownout nung gabi, walang generator yata kasi di automatic e, pero after 4mins nagkaroon din naman.
may banda pag gabi, may bar din. tequila sunrise costs 150, coke in can 50, beer 50.
we decided to have dinner sa cantina mexicana. ok naman, not worth the 700 we paid for salisbury steak and buritto. pero masarap naman pareho. a few steps away is the coffeeshop where the big tacos are. we didnt eat na here. tiningnan ko lang. dami tao.
check out is at 12pm, 100 per hour pag lumagpas ka. we decided to extend for an hour. so we gave them the key mga 1:10pm na....at hindi kami siningil sa extra 1 hr and extra 1 pillow....vip talaga! hehe...joke lang.
by 230 we nasa royal subic na kami, na pinagsisisihan ko kasi gumastos ako ng 1k just for chocolates. hehe...pero oks lang. then we went to addidas and nike factory. wala naman kami nabili. husband was able to buy shorts lang for 300..dapat sa meatplus kami kakain after pero di na naman carry ang sobrang init!! as in dobleng init!!! kya dun na lang kami sa S & R kumain ng giant pizza slice nila for 99.00...
back to terminal by 5 na ata...dito ang grabe ang pila. halos 1oras kami pumila! at lagi kaming natietiempo sa hindi bago na bus hehe. pero oks lang naman...we reached cubao mga past 9pm na...
too tired...and too sunog...hindi tumalab ang sunblock sa sobrang init.
