Skin Asthma treatment

my eldest daughter was diagnosed with skin asthma last dec. she was 3y.o that time.. here are some things about skin asthma na tura ng derma namin:
-nagoocur siya usually pag cold ang weather
-don't take a bath too long kasi the longer they stay sa water, mag ddry yung skin nila
-no rubbing, scratching
-use meds from the derma nag effect talaga yung samin, 1 soap substitute then 1 hydrocotison ba yun i forgot the exact term
-pat pat lang the part ng itchy

just follow those and ok na yan.. my daughter is well now and so far no attacks ulit since december.

ako naman simula nung nag aveeno sya na-lessen na din yung attacks. medyo mahal nga lang din. pero matagal naman gamitin especially yung lotion.

sabi nung pedia-derma, yung daw malamig and maiinit can trigger skin asthma.  siguro, because of the cold weather nung christmas, nag karon mga babies natin.

^onga sis sa weather talaga. and bawal ang oil, powder at cologne.. gusto ko pa naman lagi cologne

i have skin asthma. continuous naman sya the whole year pero pinakagrabe kapag malamig yun panahon coz mahangin and this is often when i forget to moisturize. nun january super kati sya, pero ngayon medyo nagiging ok na sya. always moisturize lang talaga. namana nga ng baby ko ito from me e.

question, did u experience na parang nangingitim yung part kung san may skin asthma, usually sa neck, likod ng tuhod, o kya don sa mga arm nyo? if ever, pano ba siya ipantay sa color mo?

at 6mos my son was also diagnosed by the derma to have skin asthma...di ko tinanggap yun.  yung result kasi nung skin scraping na test eh meron daw presence ng fungal elements.  but the derma doubted the result and told me that the skin patches with white flaky appearance and sometimes parang nakaumbok are signs daw of skin asthma.  these patches are mostly found on my baby's legs and tummy.

since birth top to toe wash ang soap nya and when we switched to a new pedia when he was 2mos pinalitan sya ng cetaphil cleanser.  tapos nung lumabas na yung mga skin patches nya last december, the derma advised us of the following:
1.  use oilatum soap for baths
2.  physiogel A1 as lotion, its also hypoallergenic
3.  pat dry lang after bath and don't scrub baby's skin with towel, wash cloth, etc.
4.  since i'm breastfeeding, pinagbawal sa kin ang eggs and chicken and other foods that may cause allergic reaction kay baby at pangangati
5.  use hydrocortisone on itchy areas, can also be used sa insect bites
6.  wash baby's clothes with perla bar and use hypoallergenic fabric softener, we use dell
7.  ask yaya to avoid using very fragrant lotion since di maiiwasan ang skin contact with baby.

derma, also advised me that  skin asthma can be outgrown by age 7, if my baby doesn't, then he'll have this for life.  remember lang daw to always keep the skin moisturized.  mas mataas un chances of attacks pag cold season kaya sa case ni baby nung december talaga lumabas.

after 2mos, okay na ulit skin ni baby, wala na rin traces nung patches.  tapos we use na rin physiogel cream as lotion pag nagda-dry ulit skin nya.

my baby prolly has skin asthma, based on the symptoms mentioned here.  it was my hubby who took her to the pedia so im not sure if the pedia did indeed diagnose skin asthma.  i remember tho that she prescribed hydrocortisone for 3 days.  hay naku, wala namang improvement. chicken skin pa din and it gets really itchy before and after sleeping.  ang hirap pa naman mag-saway ng bata na nagkakamot!  i'll ask yaya to put more lotion nga...

when my son was about 3 months old til 8 months, we had the same problem.. Eczema.. cluster sya ng mga butlig na internal.. it means pag hinawakan mo smooth naman pero visible yung patches na white tapos naka circle sa red.. (hirap iexplain..  ) this was all over her chest, back, legs, and arms..

what we did was to moisturize with virgin coconut oil and lotion after taking a bath.. dapat medyo damp pa ang skin.. nag recommend din si pedia ng desowen lotion pero after researching that it contains steroids, we stopped using it after a while.. until later nadiscover ko naman emu oil.. nawala din naman ang eczema.. not sure if my son outgrew them or dahil sa ginawa namin.. til now he uses emu oil from time to time para kinis balat..

my 3 month old baby has skin asthma also, we have history of asthma kase on both sides. pedia told me that it will start as skin asthma and might lead to bronchial asthma or other allergy when she grow up. so i'm hoping na gumaling sya before it leads to those.

recommended ang Physiogel AI cream on rough and dry areas pero hindi din totally kumikinis ang skin, I sometimes put hydrocortizone on rough or reddened areas for a maximum of 5 days lang kase nga bawal sa bata. I also use cetaphil gentle cleanser and aveeno baby lotion. wala lang flare ups pero the skin is still not smooth like other babies.

and yun nga din, wag daw prolong bath kase nakaka-dry ng skin. i forgot to ask kung nakaka-dry din kaya ang aircon, kase almost 24 hours kme naka A/c.

^ i don't know if you can use vco na sa baby mo, pero yung baby ko since malaki na before he takes a bath now, we use vco.  then physiogel after his bath. gumaling yung baby ko.  salamat naman.

wkt: dapat aside from hydrocort the pedia gave a moisturizing lotion to help. even may steroids kung hindi hydrated un skin hindi talaga magiging ok. i suggest you use an after bath gel by physiogel or elovera cream after bath.

cetaphil can help sis. nag lighten un marks ko sa eczema

my son has skin asthma..he's 9 years old now but usually he has this during cold season. but for maintenance we only use dove sensitive (light green)as his soap.. nirecommend ng derma niya from UST.. he was using this since he was a baby..

sisses, those creams that have a 'cort' in their names like cortisone contain steroids kaya very effective sya... but there are adverse effects..

my eldest has skin asthma and she's turning 9 na. i feel bad kase sabi nila if meron pa din skin asthma after 7 years old, for life na yung skin asthma 

but what's weird is that wala siya nung cold season. recently lang ulit bumalik. her pedia prescribed Iterax, am crossing my fingers and hoping that it would work. nakakaawa kase aside from itchy, ang pangit din tingnan coz napapagkamalan na "buni"

hi sis, sakin 2 days old palang si baby lumabas na yung skin asthma niya for 3 months we've done and use everything pero wala talaga di gumagaling.. then nagpalit ako ng pedia, he advise me to use J&J soap.. yung hindi milk and use jergen's ultra healing. then nagpasecond opinion ako sa dema na nagspecialize sa allergies.. she recomend also the ultra healing of jergens. since nung ginamit ko naiiwasan ng magkaasthma yung baby ko.. up to now un pa rin gamit nia.. dati gumagamit pa ako ng cream for asthma pero i stop it na and concentrate on putting jergens sa part na makati.. okay lang daw ang jergens ultra healing sa babies.. try to put it always sa skin ng baby mo.. samin kahit sa face nilalagyan namin.. kinis na ulet skin ni baby ko ngaun..

^ sige sis will try that. sounds promising! i just bought physiogel, cetaphil and the ointment for rashes. am hoping all of it would work. if not will try jergens ultra healing.
