^Paris to Milan via TGV (fast train) is 7 hours and 20 minutes while Paris to London via Eurostar (channel train) is 2 hours and 20 minutes. Depends what class of service and when you're buying the price range of 2nd class is EUR50 up and 1st class is EUR100 up.

For a week's visit, suggest just stay in one country i.e. France. After seeing Paris you can go to the other cities within an hour or two train ride away. If you really want to go to Milan then do an open jaw route. For example fly in to Paris and fly out of Milan or vice versa para di sayang oras mo sa byahe.

Save London for another visit at mabibitin ka lang. Plus you will have to spend for another visa. Not worth it for a week's stay IMO.

^sis, malayo yan sa central Paris ha. When you look for apartments be sure to check the area code or zip code. For central Paris ideally you would want the apartment to be situated between 75001 to 75007 (inner districts). The apartment you chose is outside Paris with an area code of 92700.

^Hi sis, I found the apartment at www.airbnb.com and the description is "cozy studio in Paris". The landlord is Cara Courtiades. That's actually where she lives and she rents it out when she goes on vacation.

If you check the website you'll find a lot of choices in case hers isn't available on your dates. It can be a bit confusing at first since you have a lot of apartments to choose from. These are just some of the steps I do to narrow down my choices:

1.) Set a budget per night
2.) Choose where/what area of Paris I want to stay.
3.) Check the amenities/facilities of the apartment. For example does it have A/C? This is very important specially during the summer months. Not so much for the other seasons as the temperature is quite cool during those times.
4.) Check the landlord's reviews and response time. The more favorable reviews and higher response rate the better
5.) Check the modes of payment acceptable to the landlord. I always choose credit card payment plus I avoid landlords requiring a security deposit.

^^The 4eme arr. is the Marais district or the gay district This area is very popular with the third gender. You find a lot of cafes and small shops here. While the 8eme arr. is more of a business and shopping district. Both areas are a good base for sight seeing.

@m_lim, we stayed at the Marais district during our most recent trip to paris.  just like what mama squeak said, madaming cafes and small shops.  we liked it much better than when we stayed at the 1st or 2nd Arr (di pa ko naka-stay sa 8th Arr).  based on my experience, if you are right in the middle of the shopping/business areas, walang masyadong choices when you want to go out at night.  usually kasi, ayaw mo naman lumayo masyado pag gabi.  wherever you end up staying, have fun

hi mama squeak! i would like to ask for an advise regarding train tickets.my friend and i are planning to go to paris-brussels-amsterdam, I'm checking out the rates and it seems like it is cheaper to book tickets thru thalys website than thru eurail and other sites.should we book in advance or can we just buy our tickets at the train stations? thank you very much.

^You're doing the right thing  Don't use Eurail if you won't be travelling by train extensively in Europe. Better to book direct with the local/national train company.

If you are already sure of your departures dates buy your tickets in advance since you can get cheaper fares by availing of early/advance purchase. You can sometimes get first class fares priced as day of departure second class tickets. Plus for advanced purchase you are already assured of a seat as compared to buying tickets at the train station. But for short train rides i.e. commuter trains no need to buy in advance.
