I think GMA exaggerated the issue. I saw how they delivered the news on 24 Oras and it was exaggerated to the highest level, focusing on rape. Sinali pa ang Gabriela. And the tweets of some GMA reporters, like seriously? The joke was not about rape, it was about Jessica Soho. I am not defending Vice but Clavio and the likes just proved how narrow-minded they are. Sana hinayaan nalang netizens and di na nakisali pa.

Siguro I'm mean because I like to watch and laugh at mean jokes. Mas cruel pa nga jokes ng stand up comedians sa States eh. Who can forget the cruel jokes against then Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin? It's funny lang how some friends express their resentment against Vice because of the rape joke and yet they watch shows like The Big Bang Theory, which have racist jokes pa nga eh. I like Jessica Soho pa naman kaya I'm disappointed because I can't believe Nancy Binay was able to deal with it better than she did.

Grabe.. network issue talaga?  hindi ba pwedeng Ms. Jessica Soho is just protecting her name. Multi-awarded journalist, hindi lang locally kundi internationally pa, tapos gagawing katatawanan ng isang Vice Ganda?  They're not even close. And for all we know, those GMA reporters reacted that way kasi kaibigan nila si Jessica. Imagine kung yung kaibigan, ginawang laughing stock ng mga bully sa school, di mo ba ipagtatanggol?
By this do we mean ok lang mang-okray ng tao just because the style of comedy is meant for comedy bars?  Just FYI, it's not just staged in Araneta, but it is shown via live streaming sa mga Skycable pay-per-view.
And in what sense did Nancy Binay handled the nasty comments about her any better than Ms. Jessica?
If you watch the video, you can't stand the repetitive mention of the name na parang napakawalang modo. It may be just me, pero di kasi ako sanay sa ganong okrayan. For me, it's a form of bullying.  Sabihin na lang natin na si Sharon ang ginawa niyang subject, saan na kaya siya pupulutin ngayon?

wag naman sana natin i dignify yung ginawa ni vice at isali pa network war dito. ang babaw naman ng pananaw natin kung dahil lang dun. Again, hindi lang naman GMA ang nag react against VG's joke. Writers, directors, even yung mga taga Dos may nag react din.

Oo sa US usong uso yan kaya mataas suicidal rate nila eh. I consider Vice's style of jokes as a form of mockery. Kahit ako pumapatol ako sa mga baklang walang pakundangang makapanglait na akala mo naman napakaperpekto ng itsura. I wonder kung sakaling naging boss niya si Jessica magkakaroon pa kaya siya ng guts na gawin yun. Si Binay kasi she was taking advantage of it dahil eleksyon nga naman at dagdag exposure kaya tingnan mo nanalo. Pero I'm sure kung out of nowhere eh ginawa sa kanya yung panlalait baka magdemanda pa yan.

Kakapanood ng mga bata ngayon tingnan mo anong natututunan nila? Mambara, mambully at mamilosopo! Yan ba ang gusto ninyong maging susunod na henerasyon, mga bastos at walang modo! Sa huli anong napulot na aral? Wala, puro kat*r*nt*duhan lang. Kung sa inyo ayos lang yung mga ganyang klaseng mga pagbibiro, pasensya na pero hindi lahat ng tao nabibiro ng ganung ganun nalang.

^ true. wala ka na halos makausap ng matino at may respeto (bata or matanda) dahil sa ganung trend ngayon ng "joke". not really blaming it all on Vice alone, i know responsibility din ng parents yun (blah, blah)
pero he is a big figure na napapanood ng mga madami. and doing those kinds of stint on TV, malaking influence yun sa mga taong nakakasalamuha ng mga anak natin, thus influencing even those who really don't watch Vice Ganda mismo.

this is funny, oh sige na network war issue na rin, sana napanood mo din na hindi lang yung mga maka gma ang nagreact diyan, madami na din, tignan mo na nga lang yung issue kay Binay, is it a joke pa rin for YOU? or network war issue pa rin? - fan naman ako ni VIce pero noon yun nung narealize ko na below the belt na yung mga biro niya, paano kung ikaw yung victim ng rape, hindi ka ba babae at matatanggap mo ba yung mga joke na yun? Alam na naman na may network war bakit nag provoke pa tapos sasabihin na nag overreact yung taga GMA. Kung hindi nila sinama yung name ni Jessica di walang magrereact na taga GMA. At hindi rin maganda yung sabi ni Vice na si mam Charo tawa ng tawa dahil taga kabila.

jessica soho is the victim here. Bakit nga naman ba kelangan magjoke by bringing other people down. Parang napakalow naman ng joke kung laging ganun.

US Presidents are no pushovers. Most (haha) of them have high intellects, and all of them are highly regarded all over the world. Of course, there's also that moniker "most powerful man" in the world. Yet, when they are made fun of by their own comedians, they don't lose their cool, even though they have all the power to get mad. Why don't they? Because they know they're all jokes, and they'd just look smaller for even reacting. I know a lot of you won't agree with me on this one, that's because we're all Filipinos, but the reactions to Vice Ganda's shots on JSoho are again so overboard. I understand, Filipino values ek ek. But sheesh, anong petsa na? Get with the program, get your mentalities out of your caves. Words are wind, anyway.

^Vice and Jessica are not Americans. Kung ganon ang jokes sa US, eh bahala sila.

from what I know kaya parang "delayed" ang reaction matapos ang concert, hindi na dapat mag gawa ng action si Jessica, but then the vid went viral and GMA decided to push w/ legal actions na lang.

I understand Vice started and became famous w/ toilet jokes. Pero w/ his influence ngayon, pakita nya na matalino and magaling na komedyante talaga sya by coming up w/ a more intellectual jokes.

I actually like him, I think this is not going to affect his career that much.
I also w/ agree w/ others na masyadong pinalaki ng media.

^And the jokes in the US, for example, are not about somebody's physical attributes. Iba kasi ang spoof sa lait. If this happened in the US, he will get a bigger backlash. Career ending pa nga yung result ng iba.

as far as i know vice has used jokes that can be considered equally offensive

if it was some unknown overweight person na subject i'm sure we would not be hearing any of this

my husband & i don't like his jokes kahit nung sa simula pa lang na pasikat siya. ang jokes kasi hindi dapat at the expense of other people. kaya kahit kelan hindi ako nanood ng showtime o kahit anong show na andun siya. feeling ko nga na-bully yan nung bata siya kaya ganyan siya.

chaka i remember, may time na nagkataon nakita ko yung show niya tapos may guest doon na iba ang opinion about gay people, si Tado ata yoon. kung hindi trip ni Tado ang mga gay, edi vice should respect it diba?

^^ I agree it has been blown out of proportion. It is a SKIT and yung napakita sa youtube was na chopchop na. And, just because a media personality was involved, sobrang naiba na ang focus, nagkampi kampihan na. Napunta na sa rape, rape victims, etc. It just shows how media can twist a story and make it seem like a legit issue  which is always the case sa political news sa dos at siyete (pati singko?) Just an observation 

I'm not a fan of Vice Ganda, but I've been to some comedy bars where he performed (or still performs from time to time) dahil nayayaya ng friends ko, and he never fails to make me laugh not because I enjoy seeing people being made fun of. But it's because people there do not take comedy/farce/sarcasm seriously. Siguro dito pumapasok and cliche na 'ang pikon ay laging talo'

I don't know about you but i found the skit with paolo avelino  more offensive to gays kasi parang pinapakita na ang bading, hayok na hayok sa lalaki.

Medyop foul naman talaga kasi yung mga sinabi ni Vice about Jessica Soho. I'm a Vice Ganda fan as well and I really enjoyed watching him. Kaso, nag joke siya about the person he doesnt know well and hindi din naman aware sa mga ginawa niya in front of many people. Alam naman niya na madaming makakapanood nun and magrereact violently. Sana kasi nag joke nalang siya bout Ai-Ai, Kris and yung ibang friends niya. At least kilala siya ng mga yun and alam nila na joke lang yun.
