we actually went here for a honeymoon. good thing i have a PAL privilidge tickets that are expiring so i thought of using it. naki sabay na din si hubby equals honeymoon. our friends encourage us to stay anyway andito na din kami. we have okay job naman sa pinas so kahit ano pwede na.

im thankful with my friends kasi they were persistent. they help us send out our resumes and sa awa ng Dyos before our 30 days social visit pass expires, we had a job. then we just had to go home to get our clothes while th EP is being processed.

Eto na kina-career ko na pagsend out ng resume ko.  I'm sending out my resume to 13 different openings.  I plan to follow your footsteps mga sis, at least 10 resumes a day... hehe...

I'm also planning my trip na to sg.  May mga questions lang ako and sana masagot po ninyo.

1.  Di kailangan ng visa as tourist pag punta ng sg, right?  automatic ba yung 30 days?  parang ganito kasi nabasa ko sa MOM website.  paki-correct na lang po kung mali.

2.  I plan to be in sg ng first wk of april.  Ito din nilagay ko sa cover letter ko sa mga employers/agencies.  Ok lang ba to kung ngayon ako nagse-send out ng resume?  di ba sobrang tagal?  baka di ako pansinin.

3.  Tingin nyo 1 wk is enough for a series of interviews?  Kung sakaling maraming tumawag sa kin (power of positive thinking...) 

4.  Gaano ba katagal usually bago mo malaman na ok ang application mo?

hi sis. good luck sa applications mo. to answer your queries:

1) nope, you don't need to apply for visa. we, Filipinos, are entitled to enter SG visa-free. the duration though could vary from 7, 14 or 30 days - depende sa assessment at mood ng immigration officer. kung convinced naman siya na you can spend money here as tourist, usually they stamp 30 days. most of the time din hinahanapan ng return ticket especially kung first time mo pumasok sa bansa.

2) ok lang although most vacancies are urgent. no harm though in trying, malay mo. fyi, most vacancies usually are advertised to be filled in 2 weeks at least, 4 weeks at most. if you happen to know people here (especially those in your industry) ask them if they have vacancies and ask for your referral.

3) i can't really say sis, but to be safe maybe you could stay here for a month?

4) depends on the employer and industry but in the IT industry, usually you get a call 1-2 days after sending in your CV. most actually reply within an hour if the position needs to be filled in urgently. if you are referring to naman sa processing ng application mo if you are hired, it's safe to give the employer 1 week at least, 2 weeks at most to know if they have considered you. usually, after 2 weeks it's safe to say they either found a better candidate or you were not selected.

ang alam ko naman standard for tourists ang 14 days max.  no questions asked.  parang sa HK/Macau, no visa needed and can stay up to 14 days.

if you want to stay longer than 14 days, you have to advise pa the IO. dami pa sigurong disussion yun bakit, etc.  so if one plans to stay for 30 days, best to apply for some special pass (EPEC ata yun).

sa office namin puros foreigners kinukuha at lahat naka employment pass....wala daw quota pag ganun.

if nandito kayo sa sg i suggest day time magwalk in kayo then night time apply online. pero dito sa sg masgusto talaga nila online kaya bigay lang ng bigay ng cv hanggang magkaroon ng work

last year super baba yung percentaage na chance para ma - approve yung re-appeal....ewan ko lang ngayon this year. kung uni grad ka naman and mapakita yata ng employer na kailangan ka nila kaya sila kumuha ng foreigner then MOM na bahala kung ma-aaprove yan o hindi.

hi guys, im a newbie here.. just want to ask, if meron din ba nadedeny sa pgapply ng longterm social visit.. sister ko kc pr dito.. and sya mgsponsor sken, 2weeks na [textspeak!] maexpire na visa ko.. ndi pa ko nkpgextend ng one month.. inuna nya muna [textspeak!] longterm.. [textspeak!] ba un? mejo kabado lang kasi ako.. ..inapply na nya ko via online sa ipa para makapgstay ako ng 90days ..

so far wala pa naman ako nababalitaan na denied ang LTSVP (long term social visit pass) application.. if you're here in SG, I would suggest na mag apply ka na ng 1month extension a week before your visa expires.. try mo followup din ang LTSVP mo and ask them approximately how long would it take to process the application..

about job hunting, isa sa mga keys ko to getting short listed is yung resume/CV ko.. sa bawat inaapply-an kong company, iba ang CV ko depending on their requirement... sa mga points na hindi ko naman talaga alam, ilalagay ko pa din sa CV tapos pag aaralan ko before the interview... for me need lang natin ma-shortlist man lang sa interview.. and your only way to achieve that is through a bonggacious resume.. remember that you're marketing your abilities/knowledge/etc..

ang hubby ko dati, sya nag iinterview kung sino kukunin nila sa company nila.. since IT field sya, first icheck nila kung may certifications.. second factor is yung companies joined and then technicial na yung next..

^ I don't know if OT but I have a question regarding LTSVP.  My mom is holding an LTSVP.  She is currently back home in the Philippines.  She will be coming back again some time April this year.  The thing is nagpa renew sya ng passport.  So meaning the old passport which I used to apply for LTSVP is no longer the passport she will be using.  Though I asked her to keep the old passport, pero would there be any problems when she comes back here and shows her LTSVP card?

Do I have to report this to ICA? Anyone who has experienced this similar situation?  Thanks in advance for your replies

^ hi. i dont see any issue with that as long as your mom will keep her old passport, she can show it when entering SG again. pero to be very very sure, please contact ICA na lang. if you can print their reply and give it to your mom as proof pagbalik nya, itl be better.
