I remember when the agency gave my hubby a list of things that he cannot bring, na-shock ako sa haba. As in 4 pages long! At nakalagay nga pati sa website ng Quarantine na yung muddy/dirty/dusty footwear, dapat linisin muna kasi baka contaminated ang soil. In fact, pati mga ANZAC soldiers, yung mga backpack nila and tents, dapat malinis din pagpasok dito kung hindi, kailangan pa ibalik sa pinanggalingan para i-decontaminate. Pag nag-fishing ka outside Australia, you have to make sure na na-sanitize ang fishing rod kasi baka ang water may organisms. Exagge no!

^Naalaala ko tuloy iyong kwento ng isang Pinoy tungkol sa sapatos. Don sa declaration form nya ng customs/immigration may question kung may dumi ba ang sapatos. He declared yes kasi obviously itinapak nga naman nya sa lupa kaya may dumi/alikabok. Nung andon na sya for checking ipinahubad daw ang sapatos nya at hinugasan nila as in dripping wet daw.

Kaya wag na wag mag-dedeclare na madumi ang sapatos.

^^Queensland sis:) ask ko lang sis, san kayo nagpamedicals? kasi kami sa nationwide. how long does it usually take na ma clear yung medicals sa sydney ba yun? di pa daw kasi narereceive ng case officer namin.

^ sa nationwide din ako.ang sabi sa amin kapag tumawag sila within 15 days,start sa date ng medical mo baka may ipaulit pero kapag hindi tumawag direcho sa embassy ang results. =)

ah okay. dulo-dulo tayo. hehe.
no idea ako sis sa length ng pa-medical sa pinas kasi nasa UAE kami ngayon. when we had ours dito, tumawag lang ako sa clinic 2 days after our medical and the doctor said we're cleared and they already sent the result to HOC. ayun, a few days lang, updated na yung online status namin. 3 days after i sent all the additional docs requested by my CO, visa grant na kami. bait ni CO.

btw, sa mga nasa Oz na, paano ba ang system ng pag-a-apply ng work diyan? online ba? o pwede ring walk-in?

madali bang makahanap ng trabaho dyan? hindi ka ba hahanapan ng australian experience at australian degree?

pano pag wala ka nahanap pano ka magkakapera? pano pambayad ng house bills, rent, transpo etc?

@port 80, nung huling uwi namin, nag dala mom ko ng 4 na full sized Don sausages. hindi makapaniwala yung mga nasa X-Ray. dun pa lang sa upuan nagsisitawanan na sila.

tapos one came up and asked my mom if they were indeed sausages. so my mom opened her bag to show them.

lalo sila nagtawanan. bwahaha

Brother ko, in three weeks since his arrival, nakahanap na ng magandang trabaho paying him lots.

My sis in law in two week's time sous chef na sa isang sikat na resto sa Brisbane.

They are renting but kayang kaya nila e , nag iipon na sila, they will be buying a vacant lot in Melbourne soon and papatayo nila.

when i tracked the package nationwide sent it was received sa HOC last week pa kasi. siguro by next week cleared na yun. ang bilis lang pala marelease ng visa once complete na documents etc

ilang oras naman ang trabaho nyo dyan? sa manila kase less than 4 hours lang ang trabaho ko per day pero kumikita ako ng 70k pesos a month. dyan ba? kaya din bang kumita ng 70k pesos a month dyan?

magkano naman ang gastos nyo dyan sa pagkain, rent, transpo, bills, etc?

i'm sure you travel lots with such amount in your hands monthly. cost of living plays a great deal to one's salary so comparing is useless.

basta ako, i'm going to Oz kasi gustong kong maging Australian citizen ang anak ko.

minsan, you have to think long-term, hindi lang yung convenience natin at this moment. siguro, single ka pa. for someone with a family kasi and who has lived outside the phils, mako-compare kasi yung safety at yung convenience sa ibang bansa kesa sa atin. iba yung makakapaglakad ka sa daan with your jewelries or wallet na walang takot na baka ma-snatch, dadaan ka ng airport ng walang hassle or you get a higher salary offer because you're carrying a different passport. i haven't been to Oz kaya hindi ko ma-compare yung point #1 ko, but with #2 and #3, i'm sure correct ako. hihi.
