To answer the subject: Hanggat kayang isave, i will opt to Root canal

Nung matanggal ang pasta ng bagang ko, I immediately go to my sisters' dentist where she had her braces a few years ago na malapit sa amin (malayo kasi ang dentist ko and according to my sister ok naman sila). She suggested na i exray both ang right upper bagang na nasiraan ng pasta at ang left upper bagang na sira, so as the result, yung right bagang she suggested i crown (buti di pa abot sa root ang sira) and yung left bagang she suggested i root canal na. At dahil client na niya si sister ko, eto ang presyo nya sakin:

For the root canal - P1500 per root x 3 roots (including xray)
                            P3500 for the crown

For the crown - P3500
                       P150 xray

We had 4 sessions for both, and our last session was yesterday. Happy naman ako sa resulta, napansin ko lang medyo bulky siya, ganun ba talaga? When we tested it kasi, ok naman, she even asked me kung mataas, so parang di naman kaya sabi ko ikabit na.. or di lang ako sanay kasi ilang weeks walang crown both ( parehas na sira ang temp crown kasi after a day na ikabit)

What do you mean na bulky? As in mas malaki siya compared to your other natural teeth? If yes, then you better tell your dentist to adjust it kasi it can damage your oral tissues later on

just had my root canal last month.
molar sya, 2 canals lang. 2,500 for each canal.
i think it super cheap na tapos yung pasta na pinangclose nya is silver. (free of charge na daw para daw may remembrance sya sa akin)
is it true na mas matibay yung silver? at first I was hesitant pero since sa loob naman nga sya, hindi naman nakikita when I smile.

Hi…sis…pa-pm din po ng name ng dentist mo at kung san ang location nya….hanap din kc ako ng affordable coz of my 2 teeth na kelangan i-xray and baka root canal treatment din…tnx.

My dentist charged me 2,500 per root eh 2 roots yun. Tapos 300 sa xray. Super gaan ng kamay at ieexplain niya lahat ng procedure na mangyayari kaya confident din ako sa dentist ko. Yung ginawa niya sakin nung last yung outer yung temporary pasta daw na mas matibay tapos babalik daw ako kapag may pain. So far wala namang pain na disturbing.

My mom used to be a dentist with a specialty in ortho/endo. Kaya I know that as much as possible you should save the tooth. Lalo na if you are still young. Kasi if you extract the tooth and wala siyang kapalit magrerecede ang gums.

Take note its not only our skull that gives form to our face. And I've seen people na puro bunot lang ang ginagawa. Nagsisi din sila pero huli na.

done reading the thread. ive the same problem. i wanted to save my tooth. nagsimula yung sira ng 2nd molar ko dahil sa wisdom tooth ko na impacted. pinaextract ko na sya kaso yung 2nd molar ko nalang problema. the dr suggest to have it root canaled. hindi ako makapagdecide kung magpaparoot canal ako kasi sabi ng parents ko hindi rin maganda yun since pinapatay daw ang nerve etc. ayaw ko talaga mabunutan ng ipin. totoo ba magkakapublema sa future yung ipin na niroot canal? hihingi din ako sana ng 2nd opinion saka magkacanvass na rin ng price sa root canal kasi ang asking sakin 6k per canal. 3 canals daw so 18k bukod pa sa ilalagay dun sa ipin. shempre umaasa din ako sa parents ko.  please help. thanks

hi po.. i'm planning to undergo root canal this december sana kaso natatakot talaga. na-trauma na kasi ako sa dentista eh.. yung ngipin ko sana na papa-root canal eh front teeth siya actually na-pastahan na sya before pero tinanggal ulit kasi namaga ng bonggang bongga ang ngipin ko. sabi nung doktora di daw kasi nalinis mabuti kaya ganun ngyari. di ko na siya nabalik dahil sa takot.  nagkaron na din ng abseces ba yun (di ko lam if tama spelling ko) dun sa taas nung tooth ko.. tapos nung ngkaron ako ng tigdas namaga ulit siya tapos ngkaron ulit ng pimples sa taas. hays.. masakit ba talaga yung root canal? dun din kasi ako natatakot eh.. saka yung 3500 for crown anong klaseng crown ba yun? yun ba yung nangingitim? patulong naman po ako.. salamat ng marami...

Magkakaproblema lang ang ngipin na na-root canal treatment if hindi mo ito inalagaan (i.e. brushing, flossing, just like your normal teeth). That is, if maayos ang pagkaka-root canal ng ngipin.

hihingi din ako sana ng 2nd opinion saka magkacanvass na rin ng price sa root canal kasi ang asking sakin 6k per canal. 3 canals daw so 18k bukod pa sa ilalagay dun sa ipin.

Ang mahal naman ng RCT. Saan ba yan? If medyo upscale yung location ng clinic, that explains the exhorbitant price. 2,000 up per canal usually ang minimum

sis, mine got dark then pinasta nalang then after awhile nagdarken na rin kaya now my dentist is in the process of making my crown.

^If the tooth na na-RCT is a front one at not so badly broken down, no need for a crown. Pwede i-bleach internally or have that tooth bleached first then i-bleach na all teeth.

If molar ang na-RCT, dapat i-crown or onlay or else baka magfracture. Hindi enough na reason to crown a tooth dahil lang nag-iba yung kulay. There are other less invasive means.

^ sis ako magpapa-root canal this december. sa front teeth siya. sabi nung dentista sakin before nid na daw ipa-crown yung ngipin ko kasi sirang sira na daw.
