Yup, Tickeled-Pink, I went alone For most of my trips, mag isa lang talaga ako. Nakakainis kasi kung mag aaya ka, forever ka nalang mag aantay, walang ganun ka-hayok to travel for an extended period. Usually kasi mga friends ko weekends lang puede, eh ako gusto ko minsan 1 week or more.

Scary yung thought that you're traveling alone, but once you're there na, you'll realize kayang kaya mo naman pala.

badmonkey: Madali yan, specially with the train that links Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Dami mo pang puedeng puntahan along the way, like Ko Samui, Ko Phangan, Phuket, Krabi, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca.

^ SO True, sis! I've been itching to go traveling, pero since my friends are not available to leave the country this year, hindi tuloy ako makaales. Sadness nga eh, cause I wanted to go to visit a new place atleast once a year - looks like Zero ako this year.

Looking at your blog though, parang I want to take the leap to travel alone!

Dun sa mga nakapag SEA tour na, share naman po your IT para those who are planning (or daydreaming) to go would have an idea!

rocky: It would depend on where in Vietnam ang gusto mong puntahan, at ang entry and exit points mo. Would it be HCMC in Vietnam? From there, you can take the bus to Siem Reap, the from Siem Reap, go up to Laos, either via Udon Thani in Thailand or through the Laos-Cambodia border. Then from Laos, siguro puedeng balik to Vietnam na via the northern part of the country then down to HCMC.

^ Haven't been to Vietnam yet, but the places I want to visit there is Hanoi and Nha Trang

^saigon lang kasi sis yong flight ng cebu pac. so, yon lang magiging point of entry ko. from saigon di ko na alam magiging itinerary ko. hehe  kasi gusto ko talagang mag-sidetrip ng malalapit na country sa vietnam. ano kaya mapupuntahan ko sa 8 days?

^ You can go to Cambodia, visit Phnom Penh and Siem Reap 14 hours ata yung bus from Saigon to Siem Reap.

Given 5 days (Nov 26-30 this year), is it possible na mapuntahan ko ang Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia-Thailand?

Tama ba ang ayos ng countries? Laos between Cambodia and Vietnam?  Or forego Laos? 

Does any of these countries require visas?  TIA!

Four countries in five days? That's too much. Travel time from Saigon to Siem Reap overland (which is where I'm assuming you want to go) take about 10 hours or more. The crossing from Siem Reap to Bangkok takes about 5 hours overland, while Vientiane to Bangkok by bus takes about 7-8 hours. You have to factor these in when planning for your trip, unless you plan to fly in between cities.

Even if you are flying, are you sure you just want to spend one day in each country?

if you're holding a Philippine passport, you don't need a visa for those countries

I plan to fly in between countries if budget allows.  If not, then I'll have to forego one city or country bec I only have 5 days.  Can't have more than that this year.

i think its better to explore one country for 5 days than to go to 3 countries and just see a little of everything..

^ I think so too!  In fact, I wanna go to a place and stay there for 2 weeks or just enough time to explore the place and culture, to learn a some useful local terms, and emorize some streets/stores/spots. 

But then I only have a little time to travel especially this year bec of work.  So I 'm taking advantage of the long weekend this November sana to see 3 or 4 countries then pick 1 or 2 to go back to for a longer visit next time.

Given that, what would be the best route if I wanna see AngkorWat, Hanoi, Saigon, the killing fields (I remember seeing the movie when I was a kid) to name a few?

^ Fly into Saigon, take the overnight bus to Siem Reap. From Siem Reap, take the plane to Hanoi. From Hanoi, take another plane back to Saigon for your flight back to Manila.

my bf and i are planning to go on a hongkong-macau trip this january, 2010. since this is our first out of the country trip, wala talaga ko alam! as in wala, 

kaya nga mga sis, i need your help to plan.. wala kasi ako background eh.. hmmm.. i think ok kami sa 7 days na trip, kaya nga lang mga how much kaya magagastos nun?

sorry mga sis ha, wala talaga ko idea. and just a quick note, never pa din ako nakakasakay sa airplane kaya wala din ako idea dun.

^ sis set your budget first.. than book your tickets.. if budgeted trip niyo then abangan niyo cebu pacific's promo. last year dec 25 i was able to get Php 2500 roundtrip tickets for our HK-Macau trip. you can also visit the HK and Macau thread.

sis budget namin 5D/4N lahat lahat with a little shopping 30k/person but you can always go lower that than amount.
