I've read that Gardasil can cause death daw, kaya nga i was hesitant to have a shot.
What if you're not aware u have HPV then magpapa vaccine ka, ano mangyayari?
Is gardasil way better ba talaga than cervarix?

i agree that we need to take care of ourselves pero i was hesitant to get this shot.  for one, even my ob doesnt strongly recommend to get one. 

sabi niya sa akin, it is case-to-case basis. yes the vaccine can prevent the scary cervical cancer but there's no guarantee. For one daw, the effectivity of the vaccine is not determined.  Parang depende pa rin sa katawan mo, it can last 5 years or a lifetime or less.  Pero one should only take the vaccine once.  My ob was quite honest with the side effects as well.  Sabi niya, when i research using the internet, marami akong makikitang cases na may side effects and she won't downplay those.  Totoo daw yung mga side effects kasi work in progress pa talaga yung vaccine.  Released siya because it can really prevent the cancer but may percentage (kahit small) daw talaga na hindi bagay tumanggap ng vaccine. 

Ang advice ng ob ko is to weigh things.  Sabi niya i will be the only one who can tell how unsafe i can be.

anybody here tried to inject in the butt. my ob told me pwede daw sa butt iinject so that you can still use your arms after the injection kasi minsan heavy daw ang arms once you have been shot.

sis mas less pain sa butt. i tried both in arms and butt but i still prefer sa butt talaga.

naka-schedule ako magpa-vaccine sa friday. pero bakit may ibang nagsasabi na may disadvantage din ang vaccine? sana lang mas marami pa rin advantage kesa disadvantage. nakakapag-alala tuloy.

My mom told me rin that my sister and I should get vaccinated. Sobrang dami daw kasi ng cases ng Cervical CA ngayon. Pero after reading this thread na-confuse tuloy ako which brand I should get. Ask na lang siguro ako sa OB to be sure.

^^ yung sakin, hindi masakit nung ininject pero after ilang hours saka sumakit. parang sinuntok. friday noon ako nagpaturok pero hanggang ngayon masakit pa rin.

^^ It's not really lifetime. At the moment, the continuing surveillance studies and research for both vaccines (Gardasil and Cervarix) show that even after 5 years, mataas pa ang levels of the circulating antibodies so there is still no need for booster shots.

Siguro in the future they will be coming out with recommendations on when booster shots will be needed.


You must take into consideration that both vaccines do not assure you of 100% protection from cervical cancer.  They only protect you against the most common HPV serotypes that cause cervical cancer (4 serotypes for Gardasil and 2 for Cervarix).  Kaya lang, there are several other HPV serotypes that may cause cervical cancer for which both vaccines do not offer protection.  Hindi nga lang sila kasing-common than the ones that the vaccines protect against.

Gardasil has the added benefit of protecting you from genital warts (which are caused by HPV also) but again, this is not 100% guaranteed.

I had my final shot of cervarix yesterday. Ginawa ng OB ko para daw hindi masakit eh sa likod nya sa taas ng balakang tinurok. Halos di ko naramdaman at tusok parang may pumitik lang tapos wala din heavy feeling at kirot. Kaya advice ko sa mga magpapa vaccine, sa may gilid-likod nyo paturok para walang sakit. Promise!

ako naman i have done my vaccine last year, march 2010 yung first, april 2010 yung second then september 2010 yung last shot ko. cervarix gamit na brand sa office.

Grabe ang sakit ng vaccine! Sakit sa bulsa! Ahaha!
Well, personally it will benefit us in alot of ways.
I know it's expensive and it's not 100% sure that you wont get the disease
But atleast you have something to prevent it.
I'm looking forward for my last dose! Hehe!
