i also feed them squash, pero ito kasing si maicah mapili, yung meat lang pala kinakain nya. so what i do now is mash her food and add a bit of warm water. after that, ok na poopoo nya, hehe

Nairah is still under medication (doxyvet ) kasi suspected of ehrlichia. 

don't know if my vet will still do the test since nairah has been under medication for 10 days na.  And even if negative cya, my gut tells me to finish the full treatment to be safe. i would prefer to focus more on monitoring her kidney and liver functions na lang since doxy is such a strong antibiotic.

hay, ayoko talaga mag take chances w/ my dogs kahit butas2x na wallet ko basta ok lang sila.
And dami pa namang cases ng parvo, distemper, ehrlichia etc. ngayon.
yung mga local forums puno ng posts of pets passing away, nakaka depress talaga

Sis, better tell your usual vet what happened, and demand that he review all the RX given by the new vet.  Nakakatakot Kasi sa dami at pa Iba Iba ng meds, Baka mamya tamaan nga kidney and/or liver.

Haba na ng hair sa pawpads ni pogi ko. Ipapadala ko sana sa groomers, pero natakot ako sa sinabi mo na madaming cases ng mga sakit ngayon. DIY nalang namin pag trim. Bahala na si batman. Kulet Kasi yun eh. Hehe

Anyway I hope your Nairah gets better soon.

i trim my dogs' fur myself sis, kasi mahal mag pa groom sa labas esp. since i have 4 dogs
i use an Andis pet trimmer and ok naman. at first may bald spots talaga  kasi hindi pa ako sanay, hehe. but after a few tries ok na.
i actually enjoy the process, nakaka relax eh, hehe. and my babies are relaxed din and  bonding time na rin namin yun.

if you want to try it yourself, don't buy the trimmer locally, overpriced masyado.  buy it online sa amazon; less than $100 lang yung kit. and choose the one with a ceramic blade - it doesn't get hot that quickly

^ naku sis, we only use round-tip scissors Kasi super takot sa noise ng electric trimmer. Or nati-tickle ata. Kasi ayaw din Nya bina-brush ang hair nya eversince. Kaloka... But he is ok with hands combing through his hair naman. 

Dapa at short-haired lang naman mga doggies namin kaya di rin masusulit ang electric trimmer.  We don't even blow dry them after goli. Towel dry lang oks na. Hehe

Oh, dati pala I trimmed his "shorts" - yung hair sa may butt Kasi kumapal. Ayun, uka-uka. Ang sagwa kaya di ko na inulit. Haha

I also prefer to DIY as much possible kasi we always come home with a hitch hiker whenever we go to the groomers. Di talaga maiwasan yung kuto na galing sa labas. Ewan ko ba.

^ganun ba sis, opposite pala sila ng dogs ko, takot sa gunting and nail clippers esp si nairah.  pag nakita nya nakahawak ako umiiyak iyak cya, drama talaga
until now koala claws pa rin cya kasi ang hirap i trim yung nails. kahit si doc hindi nakaya, apat kami nakawak with muzzle and restraints pa.  she's only 4+ kilos ha but ang lakas nya pag natakot, hehe.

pero gusto nila yung laging bina brush and ok lang din sila sa trimmer 

by the way, i deleted part of the message i posted kanina sis, baka kasi member din ng GT yung new v, hehe. she's really nice pa naman. yung lang nga kulang lang yata ng experience.

we just came back from the clinic. confirmed na may ehrlichia si nairah so continue lang yung doxy plus Liv52 for the liver and Nefrotec tabs, then balik ulit next month for another ehrlichia test and cbc.
grabe zero balance na ako! 
but at least may definite diagnosis na. Ang tagal namin ng analyze ng test kanina kasi very faint yung line sa test strip. kami lahat tumungin, ginamitan pa ng lente, hehe.  but ayun meron talagang faint line.  thankfully nag normalize na yung wbc and rbc levels nya and nag gain din cya ng weight

dinala ko din si maicah kasi parang may sipon for the past few days. LC vit lang binigay ni doc since ok lang naman energy and appetite nya.

ikaw sis, ano usually binibigay mo pag may slight sipon or ubo?  worried kasi ako baka lumala.  sometimes she does a snorting sound na para bang may mucus sa throat or nose. but yung breathing nya ok lang, parang hindi naman abot sa lungs/chest yung sound.  a few days after her booster shot yun nagsimula, so i figured baka nanghina lang immune system.

I feel your pain, sis... Magastos talaga mag alaga lalo na pag may medical condition or sakit. Dati nga I buy a lot of stuff for myself, but now I have to think of the dogs, especially my pogi with kidney issues. Nag Iba priority ko sa buhay, sa totoo lang. 

Surprisingly my dogs don't catch cold. I dunno if it's the kennel cough vax working. Dati I heard one sneeze sunud-sunod. Na alarm ako! Pero di naman natuloy into something. Na irritate lang ata yung nose nya.

Morelikely effect lang ng booster shot. She eats and drink naman eh. Closely monitor her nalang muna.

If sis Abu's sinus is getting better baka ma inspire sya to post and share her thoughts.

 I have a mixed mini-pinscher pomeranian dog. Its my lil sister dog pero napapabayaan, so I decided to take good care of him. Take the responsibility like a real dog enthusiasts do. check with your vet first kung dapat painumin ng medicine ang dog mo. Mas mainit sila kesa sa atin at hindi 37 ang normal temp nila.  Baka sumobrang baba naman lalong mapasama.

Saka the dosage depends upon the weight of your dog. If you love your dog please don't give meds without consulting a vet.

bailey, ang alam ko bawal ang analgesics sa mga dogs, ang effect daw kasi is sa liver and kidney. pag may lagnat kasi sila, serious case yan, usually may infection at kailangan mapinpoint yung cause at yun ang ginagamot and not just the lagnat. unlike sa humans na baka may sinat lang at pwede inuman ng biogesic. normal temp. nila is around 38-39degrees Celsius. kung matamlay ang dog mo and walang gana kumain visit the vet na para malaman anong sakit nya. unusual kasi ang lagnat sa mga dogs.

lawrence, first siguro is to check his shots and deworming, if its updated then good. pero kung delayed na, yun ang unahin nyo. then provide a healthy diet and vitamins to boost the immune system. then pag medyo untidy na ang coat, you can bring him to a groomer

Hi mga sis..my officemate was asking me cause his puppy was just given the last 6 in 1 and anti rabies in 1 SHOT! hinalo na sa isang injection..pwede ba un? dinala nia uli kanina yung puppy on the same vet kasi ayaw daw kumain.. should he change vet na or ok lang yung ganun?

sis yung vet ng beagle ko hiniwalay nya schedule ng 5 in 1 and anti rabies pero yung vet na pinagdalhan namin sa puppy namin sa province sabay ang 5 in 1, anti rabies, at deworming which ang tingin ko ay overkill at masyadong mukhang pera. good thing may vet pa although sa next town nga lang

VAccines are stressful, para tayong naginject ng virus sa kanila so dapat di sabay sabay ang shots. But since napagsabay na yung 6in1 and anti rabies, wala na tayoNg magagawa but to keep the immune system strong. Wag na lang muna ilabas,paliguan at masyado pagurin yung dog. Observe kung may unusual behavior, like pananamlay, loose stool, lack of appetite. Bigyan na lang muna ng vitamins and healthy meals. And I suggest na hanap kayo ng mas caring na vet.

do you mean sa isang injection lang talaga or same day binigay yung injection for 6in1 and anti rabies but different injection? If it's the latter, it's fine. Ganon talaga. Kahit pup or adult dog na naman pwede talaga pagsabayin ng injection (same day). Ayun lang after the injection medyo nanlalata talaga sila and medyo mainit din. But in a day or two ok na ulit.

fever lang ba? if may sipon or ubo, give your dog pneumex. herbal medicine sya for animals.

My dog are not eating for about 2 days, he drink waters then vomit afterwards. i have tried to fed him sugar and I also put dextrose medicine in his water but still, no good result.. He  vomits water with white phlegm, and not as lively as usual. I don't know what is happening to him.. Any help or suggestion please?

Question. I have this 5 year old aspin who was diagnosed with canine glaucoma by our vet. For 2 weeks, merong eyedrops and the doctor prescribed Visionex. Lumiit naman yung white spot na nag appear sa mata niya, but did not totally disappear.

Sabi nung follow up check up namin, lifetime maintenance na yung Visionex. And medyo pricey siya Php60/capsule. When I tried researching it online, it's one of those Usana products.

Magpa-second opinion na ba ako?
