I took the 3-day Lenten silent retreat last year in Baguio and it was soooo worth it. Silent retreat talaga, so no talking, as much as possible no eye contact with fellow retreatants, and they really recommend no cellphones, no laptops, etc for the duration of the retreat.

It’s NOT as bad as you think hehe. They won’t confiscate your phones naman, hindi na tayo high school anyway hehe, nasa iyo na yon if you really want to maximize the experience by disconnecting for a while. The whole experience was really good, super refreshing.

I took the semi-directed, meaning there were times that we would gather together in a group and sometimes it’s just me and the retreat director. Hindi kayo forced to “share” with a group of people you don’t know. No pressure. I super appreciated all the group and individual sessions. Pwede nyo din request if you want a priest (usually Jesuit because the CLC is based in Ateneo, again welcome lahat, even non Ateneans) or you want a lay person. I got a Jesuit seminarian, mas bata pa sa akin, haha, pero super magaling and insightful. He/she will give you points for reflection at the start of every session.

Sabi nung mga retreat directors mismo, kahit matulog ka lang the whole time at kumain (masarap yung food!!!) ay okay na. It’s a grace in itself to be able to rest. I’m planning to do it again this year if I’ll be in town.

can you suggest retreat schedules in baguio or tagaytay or kahit dito lang manila. we all grew up and studied in exclusive catholic schools run by nuns (holyspirit sisters and priets)  and we super wanted to attend like this...a lot of issues came in to my life nakayanan ko naman but would still wanted to have like this for peace of mind and heart... we do not know when and where to start. please share if you know one.thanks

I had mine last 2007 sa Center for Ignatian Spirituality (inside Ateneo).  Board and lodging was at the San Jose Seminary.  Fully booked sila noon kaya sabi ko kahit hindi airconditioned ang room.  Fr. Cel was my retreat master.  Ito yung silent retreat.  Pero you meet your facilitator once a day.  You have the option of 3, 5 or 7 days.

maganda kong maisu suggest ang Touch of Glory prayer mountain sa Antipolo...try ninyo.

i've been to Touch of Glory a few years ago. the walls in the prayer cells are too thin... you can literally hear the people several cells from you... the walls in prayer cells should be thicker...

but i did like the prayer huts overlooking greenery, but of course they're limited especially if there are several groups during your stay there. that's why it's important that they make the prayer cells a good alternative...

I signed up for Brahma Kumaris' upcoming weekend retreat. Para sa mga nakapag-try na, do I need to deposit payment before the retreat dates or can I pay the day of check-in? I tried emailing them walang nagre-reply
