Hi Mga Sisses,

I'm inviting everyone on our upcoming outreach climb and I'm also looking for a person with a GOOD HEART that can donate bag/slipper/toy/clothes-old or not/pencil/crayon/paper/notebook/bondpaper/raincoats/medicine for the elementary students of our beneficiary.

EVERY 1pc. donation counts. Just PM me for those person with a good heart and who is generous enough to help the kids.

Elevation: 2717 MASL (#9)
Days required / Hours to summit: 1 day / 2-3 hours
Specs: Minor climb, Difficulty 3/9, Trail class 3

NOTE: Each participant are required to bring their donations for Mongoto Elementary School, (in kind - preferably food, old clothes that are not being used, school supplies, books, raincoat, medicine, slippers, toys)

ITINERARY
Day 0 - (Wednesday, April 20)
1000 Assembly Time at Cubao Dagupan Bus Terminal
1100 ETD Cubao Dagupan Bus Terminal – Head to Baguio
 
Day 1 – (Thursday, April 21)
0500 ETA Baguio. Take early Breakfast. Proceed to Slaugher House
         Rent Van going to Atok (1 1/2 hour travel time) or
         1st trip of D’ Rising Sun Bus Line (2-3hours travel time)
0600 ETD via Van to KM55, Atok Benguet
0900 ETA KM55, Start Trek
1030 Mongoto Elementary School (drop donations)
1130 Mt. Timbak Summit, 2717 MASL
1230 Back at Timbak Elementary School. Proceed to visit the Timbak mummies
0100 ETA Burial Rock keeper's house; take pictures. Nice view deck.
0130 Head back to Mongoto Elementary School
0200 Lunch with the locals
0300 Donation Proper for the Elementary Students with the help of Ate Josie and teachers
0500 Set Camp / Stay in the school or host family, Rest, Prepare, Take a Bath
0700 Dinner
0800 Socials
1000 Lights Off!

Day 2 – (Friday, April 22)
0600 Wake-up Call
0700 From school, start descent
0830 Back at KM. 55; Visit Highest Point in highway then or await Baguio-bound bus
1130 Baguio then head to Manila or you may still stay in Baguio
0500 ETA Manila

last sunday nag trek kami sa mt. batulao in batangas. m loving it super.. dami rin pala ng hihike sana makajoin ako sa isang group ng nag momountain climbing,

^I also like Batulao! Ang lamig kasi parang nasa tagaytay ka na. Ang downside lang, super layo ng patag na walk before mag start talaga yung trek. Yung sa may area ng may mga bahay. Bilib nga ako sa mga nakatira dun e.

had my first climb with hubby last weekend sa mt maculot. overnight kami sa rockies, then traverse sa peak tas baba sa groto. enjoy naman and the view from the peak, it was breathtaking.

practice climb ko yun kasi akyat ulit kami during holy week, sa batulao naman kami. excited na ko. sabi ko nga kay hubby this weekend, buy na ako ng gear ko. hehe!

hello please help give tips for a first timer like me who will try to climb mt. pulag, first time to do a mountain hike with my friends who are also newbies.  we just saw the promo from pakyaw and cant resist

and ano yun best shoes gamitin pang hike na affordable?

Yey, i climbed my first mountain last weekend! Climbed Mt. Kabistel, in Medina, Misamis Oriental! Sarap ng tanduay sa tuktok ng bundok, ang lamig eh hehe Sobrang nag-enjoy ako. Kelangan ko lang palakasin yung heart ko para sa super tough climbs.

Sino sa inyo ang sasama sa Freedom Climb? Hay gusto namin sumama ni bf pero close na daw ang registration eh

Don't go - you are ill-prepped -- you do not even know what type  of shoes to  wear.
get proper traiing 1st - thete are groups of experienced mountaineers to learn fom.

Masasabi ko lang re Mt Pulg -- be careful where you hang your worn clothes - the cows there may chew on those  due to the salt from your dried sweat.  I am not kidding here.

My very first climb was at Mt. Pulag and I survived it without any training. Although I agree that you have to make sure you get the right gears before going there. Be careful and enjoy the view! It's magnificent

heyokity, dapat merong pre-climb yang organizer na yan. hinde pwedeng wala kayong orientation man lang. Better contact the organizer or whoever is gonna bring you guys up there.

Hi! My hubby and I are both mountaineers. We actually met in the mountaineering club.


If you want to start backpacking, you should learn about the right gears to use and which suit you the best. My hubby's a gear freak so I get to learn a few things about outdoors fashion.


Tents: Mountain Hardwear, The North Face
Shoes: Keen, Merrel, Mammut, Hi-Tec, TNF, Columbia
Bags: Gregory, Mountain Hardwear, Arcteryx
Shirt, Jacket, Pants: Mountain Hardwear, Arcteryx (The North Face, Columbia - he doesn't like much because they've become too common)
Stove:MSR
Cookset: Kovea
Regardless of the brand, you should always consider the functionality, weight, and hazards of the items you choose. Practice packing light by choosing your items right!

kakaakyat ko lang with my friends sa maculot last weekend...panalo yung view although i find it too populated na...daming hikers then kasama pa namin yung hikers sa freedom climb....  im planning to go back this weekend para subukan naman yung maculot traverse!!! hehe
