anyone remember the name of the shop in glorietta 1? i started knitting classes there before, but never got to follow through. would anyone know if they transferred to glorietta 5?

i've been wanting to make afghans, kaso i never got beyond knit and purl. never learned the fancy stuff, hehe. i tried the wood and the metal ones, and i stuck with the metal ones. plus, the lady who owned the shop said that the metal ones work best for beginners daw. :)

sorry thread resurrection. just super happy to find other knitters in GT. ^^ For me kasi it's so relaxing. Parang therapy.

I also learned from youtube videos this last year lang, and my first knitting needles were wooden chopsticks I sharpened. haha. buti nalang nakahanap ako sa Daiso ng bamboo needles. Pati circulars nga meron, but not a lot of choices sa size. so anyway, tiyaga-tiyaga lang. I've even once used barbecue sticks, kasi wala akong size 3-4 needles. :P

Right now I'm trying to knit a pair of baby booties for my sister's inaanak. :) Sana other people post din yung current projects nila. Tipong "What's on your needles today?"

I crochet, but I want to learn knitting too. Knitting stitches seem so much more polished than crochet stitches. Hahaha I hope it's not too hard for my brain to absorb!

I blog about makeup at Stockpiled! I'm updating again!

Hi sissies!
Isa ako sa mga taong addict mag-knit! LOL :)
Natuto lang ako mag-knit through internet tutorials when I was 14.
Metal pa ang benta sa Stitchin' Moments, which is, for me, better than plastic. Metal is a bit heavier but very sturdy compared to plastic which easily bends and breaks. Pero overall, they say that the best needles are those made from bamboo; very sturdy and very light, and they say that the more you use it, the more its quality improves!
Ang pinakabasic po gamitin yung two straight needles. Mayroon ding circular needles na nagagamit for making seamless hats, sleeves, gloves, etc.
Tapos meron din pong double-pointed needles a.k.a. DPNs para sa socks, stuff toys and other tube-like things you wanna make. They come in 4 or five needles per set.
sa www.knittingpatterncentral.com ako tumitingin ng mga patterns.
Knitting is different from crocheting; natuto muna akong mag-knit bago mag-crochet. In crocheting you use 1 hook instead of 2 needles as is the case w/ knitting (if you're not using DPN's) Sa crocheting din kasi pwede kang gumawa ng Amigurumi or cute little stuff toys. :)
For me, mas versatile mag-crochet pero generally mas enjoy ko ang knitting. :)
Also, I recently started my own handmade accessories biz; just wanna share :) >>>http://www.crochetandco.multiply.com
And for those who wanna learn to knit, I really encourage you sissies! Sa umpisa lang siya mahirap; pag tumagal medyo mabibilisan na lang kayo, kasi ang mga various stitches naman niya, if you break it down, are just made from two kinds of main patterns; purl & knit. :)

Dreams Yarn Shoppe is now in Glorietta 5. They still teach knitting and crochet.

bumping this thread, would like to learn how to knit - i read knitting projects can be done quicker vs crochet...and i like the flexibility of the stitches.

anyways i wonder if heavenly stitchin' moment and Dreams Yarn Shoppe are still open. would like to get me some beginners' tools.
...because you just might get it all!

I'm interested in learning this art, i want to knit a bonnet sana for my bf.. Saan po ba nakakabili ng tools like nung needle. I've been to heavenly stichin' moment kaso lang wala sila yung wooden na needle.

thanks!
