Ever been to Kota Kinabalu?

ShiinaRingo: I've stayed at Tune Hotel in Penang Okay naman ako with my stay there. The room was small, but mag isa lang naman ako that time so it was okay. It would be really cramped if there were two of us (or maybe they have larger rooms if there are two of you?), or if I had a huge luggage (I only have a backpack and a messenger bag that time).

The space sa may toilet was really small. As in tumatama yung knees ko sa wall while sitting on the toilet. But the shower was a decent size, as is the area with the sink.

The bed was really comfortable. There's a ceiling fan inside the room, which you can use if you've run out of aircon time (which you have to pay separately). It's a really budget accommodation, and for their price, you can't really expect much. Think of it as a step above hostel. There are no TVs inside the room, but there is Wifi (but at an extra cost)

Would I stay there again? If I'm traveling on a budget, I would. But if I have more money to spare, I would stay elsewhere.

I just booked KK through Jetstar. We will be flying from Singapore. S$158 for 2 pax/return.

October 24-27. Any sissies na pupunta? Let me know. Maybe we can do the island hops etc together para mas cheaper.

We might stay sa Lavender Lodge, naengganyo ako sa posts niyo dito.

sayang, di talaga ko nakapag shopping sa KK. mura? shoes? cosmetics? nakita ko parang mura flip flops.

we were w/ our parents kase. my sister wanted to shop, so sinadya nya maligaw. after a few minutes, my mom was paranoid na looking for her. hehe.

^ Yes, sis. Kasi the ones I bought sa Charles and Keith sa Malaysia, hindi pa sale, less than 500 pesos na. Yung mga on sale nasa 20 RM, mahal na yung 50 RM. As for cosmetics, I checked out MAC and some drugstore brands, halos pareho lang Yung Daiso nila dun, yung orig na Daiso, sobrang laki! Sa 1Borneo Mall

Sis maganda din daw ang beach and mountain areas [Mt. Kinabalu] but I wasn't able to visit kasi I was drunk from too much partying in KK heehee

Mura talaga mag shopping sa KK, body shop, face shop roxy, charles and keith.. even gadgets are ok.. Pero mas mura gadgets sa KL..you will enjoy your shopping there..

Pero parang feeling ko mahal nike and adidas dun pero pag sale e ok naman..

 Help Mga sisses! I am confused kung anong hotel ibobook ko. I want one night lang sana sa Shangrila Rasa risa pero ang mahal around 8k.
 Ok ba yung Langkah Syabas Beach Resort? Mas mura sa kanila, 2k lang.
Pwede ba magbook ibang hotel tapos punta na lang kami sa Shagrila para magbeach or punta ng orangutan sanctuary pay na lang kami ng fee?

^ agree sis.. add na pala in your list.., LA SENZA super affordable dun compared ito. If converted na yung 1 panty Php200 lang doon, pero sa shops dito nasa 500 yung style na nabili ko back KK..

I'm going to Kota Kinabalu with Travel Factor on Nov 13 -16, 2009. The group tour will focus on white water rafting and island hopping. Maybe next time we will try trekking to Mt. Kota Kinabalu.

We have free time for shopping. I'd like to ask for your suggestions on what are the best-selling pasalubong in KK and where to get them.

 Sis lilstar and teeyah ilang percent yung mura ng charles and keith, havainas and etc sa KK? I am planning to do buy and sell kase. Mahigpit ba ang immigration dun like sa Singapore and Hk na pag marami kang dala baka mag tax pa? thanks

Dito na sa Manila mahigpit ang immigration e.. sa body shop kasi na face powder yung 1100 dito sa KK RM50 lang. so mga 40% ang difference nila. Ganun din sa charles and keith. Im not sure sa Havs kasi uso dun before e Grendha 1,500 dito yung style na nabili ko pero dun RM70.

I'm not sure pero parang 40% ata difference..
