Bad experiences sa mga foods na binili sa supermarkets, etc.

ibig sabihin madumi yung gawaan nila.. kaya minsan nakakainis bumili ng products na gawang pinas, madalas kasi salaula ang preparation kaya kung ano anong nakikita natin sa mga food eh..

pero ang galing nung worm ha, nabuhay sha kahit walang oxygen sa loob nung bote, and the worm surpassed the cooking process ng ketchup, or baka nahulog sha dun somewhere between the cooling and yung pagffill sa bottles.. grabe, di ko maimagine..

ayun nga iniisip ko. iniisip ko na baka yung sa bottles yun. hindi masyadong nalinis. ang alam ko kasi some worms have bacteria inside them which help them in respiration and feeding. kadiri talaga. alive na alive pa siya that time.

if ever you guys shop in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth, be wary of the prices listed in the shelves. Kasi over 5 times na nangyari na when I buy things, iba ang scan price sa list price sa shelf! They insist na hindi lang daw na-update ang shelf prices, pero medyo fraudulent diba esp if you're convinced to buy something bec of the price tapos biglang mas mahal siya pagbayaran na. Over the past few trips, differences have ranged from P2 to as much as P10! This should really be corrected. Bad business tactics if this is intentional.

three times na akong bumibili ng fruit in Shopwise libis na sira na. All the fruits I bought are the ones sliced and packed na. I bought watermelon pagkaopen ko sira na as in maasim na lasa. Pineapple pagkakain ko overripe na. then, papaya sagaw na ng lasa. grrrr....

S & R at The Fort -- keep away from their packaged (on styro and plastic wrapped)  fruits... makikita mo when you unwrap these... puro molds ang ilalim ng fruits.

Unimart -- be careful when you pick up anything packed NOT in bottles/cans... at baka may butas the packaging... kasi  there are times their pest control of rats/mice is lousy.  Makikita mo running on the shelves or even across the aisles (eh di sigawan!  LOL).

Atchaka, a couple of years ago... we bought a box of chocolate bars .. pagbukas ngek!  super ngek!  may worms!   When our yaya brought it back with the receipt and all (wala pang 1 hour ha) -- eh the lady at their Customer Service gave her a hard time and lots of padudadudaduda pa.  Eh hello?!  Makikita naman sa packaging katulad nang andoon sa mga nakatambak nyong chocs.  (We never buy chocs from them anymore)

I live near Unimart, but I would rather go to Shopwise (Libis) /Rustan's Supermarket at Shang or Makati/S&R at The Fort.   

Sa Robinson's Galleria naman... check the expiry dates.  Pagwala naman, tough luck talaga.  We once bought a big pack of M&Ms -- pagbukas eh ayon... the colors were faded.  Hmm, that sure was an unexpected "1st experience".    I stopped buying anything from the supermarket there since about 4 years ago... before they renovated it kasi napansin ko madami silang products eh nakasampa na sa expiration date.

  -- new experience nanaman sa shopwise, sa bakery section nila bibili sana ako nung pizza and empanada something, kaya lang may nakita akong 2 ipis na maliit. grabe as in ginagapangan na lahat ng tinapay. naisip ko tuloy na baka yung mag nabili rin namin dati, ganun din.

UNIMART & ROBINSON's
     check expiry of chocolates.... from Unimart, we encountered worms on the chocolate bars sold
     From Robinsons --  we encountered very dry chocolates in boxes;  and even encountered faded/discolored M&Ms

UNIMART -- check products that are not canned
                 They have poor pest control -- check for holes in the packs you pick up.

unimart talaga notorious for expired goods. i remember nung hs pa ako, my parents returned a can of skyflakes na rancid na, expired imported juices, makunat na chichirya, maasim na chocolate bars etc etc... di naman same occasion and ok naman yung nasa cs nila pero syempre hassle pa rin... we used to do our weekly grocery here but now di na talaga.

what to do when you encountered product defect..
first, call their customer service, importante itago ang sirang product.. if its consumable, tago sa ref.. kahet sira.. itago din ang resibo.. kailangan kasi yan sa investigation..

now sa part naman ng company.. what they usuall do is..
visit you, check the product.. kukunin nila yun for lab evaluation.. kung lahat ba product batch eh.. may defect.. they usually give token.. hindi sya bribe ha.. parang its their way of thanking those complainants na naginform sa company..

minsan kasi.. nasa outlet yung misproper handling ng products.. kasi sa warehouse, may guideline talaga.. like stacking level.. like sa juices, bago ilabas sa market yan.. dadaan talaga sa quality control plus proper incubation pa yun.. minsan, kahet anong ingat ng company kung di naman ganon ang paghandle ng outlet.. nagkakatama din yun product.. same with din dun sa trucking.. kita nyo, minsan, para lang bola yung hinahagis nila.. tee hee!..

pero yung iba talagang complainants.. pera pera lang...

walang nagkakapera sa ganon...

teka, lubus lubusin ko lang ha.. naalala ko lang yung encounter ko before.. may isang nanay, nag complain na kesyo nahospital yung anak sa product namin.. then nagsumbong sa AM radio station.. nagmamatigas silang maglabas kami ng pera dumating sa point na halos everyday, tira kami ng announcer.. and guess what.. bumisita sa amin yung radio announcer.. guess what again.. para kuning ninong ng anak ng radio announcer yung boss ko.. as in LOL.. di naman makapal mukha di ba.. ang ending... lumabas ang totoo.. may connivance yung complainants and radio announcer..

purefoods bacon from sm fairview hypermart. yung naka-roll na bacon. nung finafry ko pa lang, iba na amoy pero di ako nagreact. tapos nung lumabas yung papa ko from their room, bahong-baho sya. ang panghi daw na parang bulok na yung meat.

nasanay kasi kami sa Rob Manila na lagi fresh kahit repacked na sa styro.

yung olsen bread sa shopwise. they expire earlier than the expiry date. isinoli ko sa shopwise - pinalitan naman nila pagkatapos ko maghintay ng pagkatagal tagal. kasama ko pa naman ang malikot ko ng toddler... kuuu... pati parking pinagawa kong free sa kanila. pinagalitan pa ako bakit daw nun ko lang isinoli e 2 nights ago ko pa nakita yung molds. sabi ko e ngayon lang ako nagkatime pero hindi pa rin expiry date that day. gunggong  na yun... batukan ko sya e... hehe!

SM: Yung mga dried fish nila, wag kayo dampot ng dampot. We bought lots of daing & tinapa. Nagmamadali kami ni hubby kaya we didn't checked kung may amag or something. When we got home, di pa rin namin nacheck. Until mag-breakfast na kinabukasan nung ipiprito ko na, ayun puro amag at langgam. Hay naku! Sana may nagchecheck nung mga ganung items. Eh sandamukal ang nakadisplay dun tapos puro amag naman. Their fruits & veggies din are not that fresh. Tapos yung eggs in trays na SM Bonus, ganda ng itsura. Pero grabe nasuka ako nung gagamitin ko kasi pagbagsak sa bowl nung isang egg, may kasamang premature chick na bloody plus may worms pa. Yucky! Di na namin ibinalik kasi mas mahal pa yung pang-gas sa car eh. Hmp!

Kadiri talaga! Simula nun di na kami nabili ng eggs sa kahit anong supermarkets. We buy na lang sa katabi naming tindahan ng paisa-isa kasi same lang naman ang price tapos pwede ibalik agad if bulok.

every time i do the grocery, i always buy tofu ...

e sa walter-mart (muñoz, qc) ako lagi shop, and everytime na kukuha ako ng tofu -- forgot the brand kasi, basta green ang cover plastic niya, laging marumi yung ilalim, parang maputik, so i asked sa roaming supervisor nila kung bakit laging ganon ang tofu package nila, kasi nakaka-dismayang bumili kapag nakita mong parang galing sa sahig yung naka-display sa freezers nila, parang may putik.

ang sagot ng supervisor "sa pagkaka-handle daw ng manufacturer" -- haller!  stupid answer. sino ba ang nagdi-display sa mga freezers, di ba? yung manufacturer ba? syempre ang mga producers ng tofu, dumadaan sa quality control ang mga ito, at natural lalabas itong malinis papunta sa boxes nila ... pag-deliver sa mga supermarts depende na lang sa mga supermarts kung paano nila ito i-handle pag display na.

ang sinabi ko na lang "miss baka sa susunod hindi na sila bibili ng tofu kasi iisipin nilang marumi ang pinanggalingan ng tofung ito dahil sa marumi nitong hitsura."

bought a Peter Pan Honey Roast Crunchy at SM Fairview Hypermart this afternoon. pag-uwi namin, nakita ng Papa ko na nakalagay BEST BY OCT102009. kainis! dadalhin ko pa naman sana sa ofc ito bukas. nagbibiruan na lang kami dito sa bahay na siguro kung before OCT102009 kakainin, better pa lang sya. at least ngayon, best na sya!

^^ sis sana sinabi mo na sa ibang grocery hindi madumi. or sana sinabi mo ganun ba? madumi pala sila - sabay soli ng food. pero kung kailangan mo talaga yung tofu, balikan mo na lang. para lang makita nya na turn off yung dumi sa yo. hehe!
