that's a good idea. pareho tayo, ayoko din kunin ko buong salary ng asawa ko tos bibigyan k [textspeak!] sya ng allowance. so ngayon, hati kami sa lahat ng expenses sa house, pero pag may baby na kami, baka ganyan na din i-suggest kong gawin namin. hehe..thanks for the idea. :p

One year pa lang kaming married (and we have a baby daughter). Nung bagong lipat kami sa house (we're not renting), ako lahat gumagastos sa bahay kasi minimal lang naman talaga gastos like sa food lang naming dalawa. And since working kami pareho e breakfast-dinner lang kami sa bahay. Bills namin nun e less than 2k pa.

PEro ngayon we have a baby na, plus a yaya, last month I tracked our expenses, made a list of all possible expenses, then I made a "this-is-not-a-love-letter-letter" kay hubby stating yung mga expenses kay baby, sa food, gas, insurances, house things, etc.

Naka categorize sa weekly (yung food), monthly (tung sweldo ni yaya, bills, immunizations ng baby, diapers, milk, etc.) and mga as the need arise expenses (car maintainance, clothing, toys ni baby)

Then may proposal ako sa kanya na this amount e hihingin ko from his sweldo, every 15th of the month.

Start kami this June.

Ayaw ko kasi kuhanin lahat ng sweldo nya then ako magbibigay ng allowance sa kanya.

^sis, pareho din tayo. ito din set up namin ngyon eh. every payday nila which is weekly, i ask for a certain amount of money which covers the savings, house rent, grocery, electric bill, etc.

the rest sa kanya na yun. i told him to manage his own money basta dapat hindi siya magkukulang until his next payday.

both naman kami working kaya hati din kami sa expenses though mas malaki part niya since malaki sweldo nga compared sa akin.

ok lang for me na magshort ng allowance until the next payday since i ask "baon" from him if nagkukulang ako. hehe.

important for us is to stick dun sa alloted budget for savings every month.

for me, nasa pag-uusap talaga ng mag-asawa yun how to handle their finances. good thing for us din since wala kami credit card, kaya wala kami babayaran monthly utang. hehe

We just talk about it last night. Feeling ko kasi buntis ako, and I want to sit down now and talk how much he's willing to give me "if" I'm pregnant nga. Malaki salary ko sa kanya and because he's still studying, ayoko kunin buo o mag-impose na kalahati nung salary niya ibigay niya sa akin. So sabi ko, kung magkano na lang kaya niya ibigay fortnightly will do. And we've settled on the amount, plus the amount he'll put in a separate account pambili ng house. We'll still keep the original arrangement na hati sa expenses sa house, pero this time, magbibigay na sya ng extra for me and the baby's needs kung sakali man. So all is well now.  8)

since my husband is working overseas, di ko lahat ipinapadala dito salary nya. I make it to a point na lagi cyang me extra money just in case kailanganin nya.

Even nung andito cya sa pinas, nasa kanya atm nya, lahat ng bank account namin naka-joint. Basta I gave him all the freedom sa pera namin. So far okay sa amin ganitong set-up. We became more responsible and mas na-build yung trust  :)

newly wed kami. 95% of his salary pinapadala nya sakin. 5%, after his contract daw kasi makukuha kaya hindi nya mapadala. pero sya ang may gusto nun. i didnt asked him that. kasi kung ako sana masusunod, gusto ko kanya kanya na lang kami. then pag labas ng baby, hati kami. nagtampo pa nga sakin yun nung una kasi ayaw ko ngang padalhan nya ko. bakit daw sari sarili pa e mag asawa na kami. hay! ewan. pakiramdam ko kasi may nabawas sa akin dahil sa pagpapadala nya. ewan. basta hindi ko maexplain.pride kaya? ewan. siguro hindi lang kasi ako sanay na binibigyan. financially independent kasi ako eversince. besides marunong din naman ako magbudget kaya kahit hindi kalakihan ang sweldo, hindi ako kinukulang.

so ang nangyayari ngayon, halos hawak ko lahat ng sweldo nya. even yung allotment sa family nya, sa akin na nanggagaling. ako na nagpapadala. after the wedding, he consulted me na kung magkano ang gusto kong ibigay na allotment sa family nya. he's giving me 100% authority sa finances namin.

Good practice talaga yun sis, to have your own money.  Mahirap na... kasi hindi talaga maiwasan sa couples ang magkaron ng Sumbatan Portion pagnagkaron sa time ng marriage na kinapos ng money eh.

Oo nga e. ayokong may masasabi siya sa akin. I tried to be independent kahit na kasal na kami. Pero pag may baby na kami, malamang mas malaki responsibility ko in raising our child, so dun ko na lang sya hihingan.

pangit pa naman pag pera na ang pinag-awayan. but the reality is its the #1 na pinagaawayan ng mag-asawa ngayon. so maganda talaga na inuupuan ang ganitong issue and have a set-up that would benefit both of you.

nasa akin ang atm ni hubby.. pero lahat ng gastos dun ay sinasabi ko sa kanya at budgeted na, para wala siyang tanong.

kanya-kanya kami ni husband ng pera. i am not even asking him about his salary. bahala sya malaki na sya eh ;D

salary ko din sa akin lang. yung net namin from day to day operation ng aming business ang savings, at expenses sa bahay dun na rin namin kinukuha. so far, masaya at walang problema on both sides. ;)

For our case, mas mataas kasi yung pay ni hubby with me. He handles our bills like for the electricity, water, phone, internet/cables and the credit card. Majority of our expenses siya ang nagpapay. Then ako naman ang nag shoulder ng daily allowance namin including our weekend getaway and his cellphone bill (para I can check the list of his phone calls ;) ) What's nice with us, we both have our share to our savings. Like monthly, we transfer 20% of our salary to our savings account.

^i see. buti ka pa, sis. i am not trying to appear madamot naman pero parang ganun kasi mangyayari kung pipigilan ko siya na magbigay ng ganun kalaking money. imagine, 12,000 binibigay niya sa nanay niya every month. and mom lang niya and katulong ang nasa house ha. parang nalalakihan lang ako.

For us, pana-panahon lang. My husband doesn't have a full-time job, he's an entrepreneur so the income comes when it comes, so to speak. If he's got enough, he pays his share of the bills and other household expenses. But if his cashflow position is tight, he asks me to cover the expenses/bills. So far it's been like this for a couple of months. I don't know if things will still change considering I never really knew how much he made. But as long as I get to keep some for savings and some for myself, then I think we're fine altogether.
