hi!  ako rin po nagcross stitch tinuro sa school namin and my first pattern is butterfly ayun nasa house ng mom ko at nakaframe tpos nasundan pa ng magkaroon ako ng boyfriend at gift ko sa kanya mickeymouse na nagbabasketball. nahinto lang ako kasi nagwowork na ako at wala na masyadong time...

I've been cross-stitiching for so long, but I've finished only a few hanggang sa nagsawa na ako at dami ng ginawa sa buhay. Pero right now, I'm in a phase of loving vintage patterns, especially the Victorian and Elizabethan-era-inspired ones. It adds a certain touch to an item, such as one I've stitched on a handmade jewelry pouch I made for a friend. The letter embroidery is the initial of her name.

My current fetish is the ceramic style cross stitch since it connotes elegance ala Old English style using only a few colors of thread or so. I got addicted to Xstitch nung college. my tita was doing one then nagpaturo me sa kanya.  she asked me to finish her work which was a ballerina holding a boquet at her back ( i don't know the title0. ever since naaddict na ako and my next projects were angels na. Angel of hope, Angel of peace, little wings, yung 3 little girls na nagka-kite, cute cherub, etc...all of them naibenta ko without frame kasi nangailangan ako money  nung buntis ako sa 1st baby ko nun. ang hindi ko lang binenta was the Guardian Angel kasi I made it while buntis ako sa 1st baby ko. I had it framed. then nastop ako mag xstitch for 5 years. basta ang gusto ko xstitch yung mga angels and malalaki talaga. bihira ako gumawa ng mga cartoons lang, unles may nagpapagawa sakin. Like yung sis ko may ginawang bear na may heart para iregalo sa BF nya. around 6"x8" yata size nun. nainip ako kasi tagal nya gawin. It only took me 5hours to finish it may merienda break pa, hehe. parang 3 lines plng yata nagawa nya nun. then I made last supper in 10 counts. and believe it or not, nawala yung xstitch ko na un. i don't know if naiwan ko dun sa condo na tinirhan namin nun, naglipat kasi kami. super nanghihinayang tlaga ako. pinaghirapan ko talaga yun and laki nagastos ko coz I used 4 strands dun.

Anyway, just this July I started making this peace angel for my mother in-law kasi magbibirthday sya ng August 17. I was able to finish it on time naman but then after ko matapos yung project, hala hinanap hanap ko. parang after nun kailangan may gawin ako ulit. so I started  "collection seashells" right away na dapat asawa ko gagawa e tinamad. I finished it after 3weeks. and now I'm doing the Rose of sharon pero hindi ko matapos tapos kasi yung maid ko lumayas so ako nagaalaga sa 3kids ko aged 8,3 and 8months. so nafufrustrate ako ngayon. I had to resign from work pero parang mas pagod ako ngayon from all the household chores kesa sa nung nagwowork ako sa callcenter.

Whenever I buy patterns sa dreams and nakikita ko yung pictures nung mga angels and other project na naibenta ko super naghihinayang ako kaya lang kinailangan ko talaga money nun kaya binenta ko din. someone offered me 12k for the guardian angel I made pero hindi ko binenta kasi may sentimental value. size nya naka frame is 2x3 ft yata.

My mom-in-law told me to have it as a business kasi mabilis daw ako gumawa and malinis kahit sa likod. she asked me to make lots of projects tapos ipapa gallery nya daw and sell it to her friends din.

I've considered opening an xstitch business din and already consulted the owner of Dreams and super bait sila talaga and willing to help me out start my own pero right now iniisip ko pa kung may market. Though I know that I love arts and craft talaga, kailangan ko din isipin return of investment. for now, my friends are asking me to finish their projects from way back na hindi nila natapos and ako na buy ng remaining materials then they pay me for it nlng plus labor. right now I still have 3 pending project to make for xtra income.

I have some used patterns here but may mga sulat na sya ng marker. I have a lot of thread from my previous projects pa from like 10 years ago. nakalagay sya lahat sa file box so most of the time hindi na ako bumibili ng thread pag start ako new project coz meron na ako, unless kulangin.

^ galing, I find it monotonous kaya na small projects lang ginagawa ko or those who require 4 or less than 4 thread color. I tend to buy all the thread kase tapos di ko matapos-tapos.

other than creating the pattern itself, i enjoy looking at all the different colors of the thread in my thread organizer. yun bang each color has different shades!

and like what sis jaemee mentioned, everytime i have a new pattern to work on, most of the time halos half meron na ako. no need to buy. but then again, if i need to buy one, it also excites me cause there's additional shade and dagdag na naman sa collection ko

Yung officemate ko nga na nagpapagawa sakin nun project nya since high school pa yun, 10 years ago pa yata puro beads at treasures. almost finished na sya, beads nlng wala pa and yung braids. e nasa 20% din nung project ang beads and braids. nachallenge ako kasi sa dinami dami ko na nagawa, first time ito na may treasures. 1st time ko to work on beads was yung ginawa ko sa mother in law ko na peace angel. sobrang hirap hanapin thread na iba. right now nga hindi pa rin ako makakita ng krienik 150V #4 very fine thread. nagpunta na ako sa lahat ng dreams, carolinas sa glorietta and market then yung dalawang thread shop din sa may farmers. wala talaga. un na lang kulang. pati mga treasures hirap makakita and nun nakakita naman ako na-shock galore ako kasi nasa P135-P160 per box tapos nasa 1-2 pcs sya in each box e kailangan ko around 6pcs each treasure. kumusta naman diba. 3 treasures yung nasa pattern. ginawa ko, naghanap nlng ako ng substitute na bead and pendant sa carolinas na malapit sa itsura and color din nung treasure. carry naman na yun. gusto ko nga pumunta dun sa may Quiapo, lapit sa may church. meron ako binibilhan dun mga patterns. super cheap lang. around P35-60 lang nung malalaking patterns  tapos with pictures pa. unlike pag sa mga xstitch shop na P15 per page tapos walang picture. kaya lang wala na akong time pumunta dun lalo ngayon wala akong maid. and parang 6years ago pa yung last punta ko dun, hindi ko alam kung andun pa yun. and i'm not sure if binaha din sila nung ondoy.

wow, hopefully you can finish your officemate's pattern end of this year. magkano kita mo sa kanya?! hehe swerte mo nman may nagpapagawa sa 'yo. sa akin talagang hobby ko lang siya and even though alot of people know about this, wala pang nagpapagawa. i haven't tried the beads thing. well, let me try that after i finish what im currently doing. let see kung may magustuhan akong magandang pattern. but then napapaisip ako about that difficulty in getting that fine thread. alam mo yung feeling na gusto mo ng matapos and beyond your control na dahil wala kang mabilhan na thread. however, keep us informed kung nakabili ka and kung san mo nabili

hello sisses!

it's only now that i realized na parang gusto ko ulit mag cross-stitch. may mga natapos na din ako and lahat hindi pa napa-frame . 10 years ago na din yun. i want to have time talaga wish ko lang kayanin ng powers ko now that I have a 1yr old son na malikot sobra

honestly, nakalimutan ko na how to start  hehe, nagka-amnesia na ako after giving birth to 2 adorable kids 10 and 1 yr old. alam ko sa center ako lagi nag start, let me refresh lang my memory kung tama...fold ko sa four then look for the center tapos from the center na ako maguumpisa..tama ba sis? pano ko pala ma-calculate na may 2inches pang sobra sides? TIA

ask ko din if anyone here knows kung saan na nagtransfer yung cross stitching store which was located in Glorietta 1 grnd floor. thanks ulit
