^sis, personally I'd rather spend my extra money on shopping than getting a business class ticket.    Most airlines now have economy comfort seats meaning you can reserve economy seats with more leg room/space by paying a minimal fee. Like kami ni hubby we got economy tickets on KLM but paid a fee for seats with more legroom. It's only a 12 hour flight so pwede na. But if you have the money to spend, go ahead and buy business.

Talking of business class seats, the long haul biz seats in CX are a bit claustrophobic at first. Kasi naka set-up sya in cubicles. But you get used to it after a while. Yun lang kung may kasama ka, you have to get up pa from your seat to make chika kasi nga naka-enclose ka sa cubicle.

^my bf kasi is a big guy (wide shoulders). di sya comfy kahit yung premium economy. sakto lang sya sa business class ng PAL so we want wider than that of PAL business but not naman as wide as singapore airline kasi over na yun.

we are not paying for it. =) its all free for the honeymoon =) kaya pangit na we save on plane tickets and shop coz the purpose of the gift eh travel lang. baka pag nalaman na tinipid namin yung travel, baka di na maulit yung libre hehe.

nakita ko nga mahirap makipag-usap pag CX. hmmm do you know other airlines who offers seats as wide? how about emirates?  etihad?

I know EK (Emirates) biz seats are wide. Not sure on EY (Etihad) though. Have you checked KLM? I've tried it before way back in 2006 (libre din because of hubby's points) and comfy naman sya. Among SQ, CX, EK and EY I find KLM affordable. But keep checking din kasi most airlines offer promos once in a while.

Nway, economy ako EK (Emirates) but I saw the Business Class seats, malapad naman. Nakkainggit nga silang nasa B.Class. hehe 

Tutal sa April 2012 pa kayo aalis, mag diet na si BF kamo!   
Para dina kayo mag B. Class = more pang shopping for you! hehe, uy joke lang baka na offend ka. *peace*

Qatar Airways masarap food (esp their fish) but since maliit ako i'm not sure if malaki yung space ng economy nila kasi for me malaki siya.

LOL oo yun na last resort sis, exercise na lang para mag-narrow ng konti shoulders nya para madaming pagpilian na airlines =)  kasi right now, cathay and singapore airlines lang talaga choices namin =( maarte kasi masyado yun pag long-haul flights eh. hmp! ako ok lang economy eh. buti wala ako babayaran hahaha!

mama squeak, how about airlines when you are in europe already? kasi ayaw namin mag train pag malayo yung susunod na city like italy to vienna. what's the cheapest airlines? eto ok lang kahit economy kasi short flight lang naman =)

^That's about right. Marami kasing stops yung train. Suggest get the night train para tulog lang kayo. When you wake up you're at your destination na.

I'm soo happy to announce that I've been blessed once more to be able to go back to Europe! tentative date - 3rd week of October.

IT: Rome, Venice, Milan and Paris. If sked permits we'll singit Day tours in Zurich and Amsterdam (we'll take long layover of 4-6 hours in Schipol and roam around to take pictures).

This is a business trip so my time is limited yet again. But who am I to complain? Hopefully we;ll get to accomplish everything in 8-10 days.

This time mag Vatican museum nako!

Any budget airline from Rome to Madrid? Doable ba if by train?

^sis, backread ka lang I already posted a website on all the low cost carriers in Europe. And yes, doable ang train from Rome to Madrid. Mahaba ang byahe nga lang so better take the night train para tulog ka lang and when you wake up in the morning nasa Madrid ka na.

^Thanks sis! Am back in Manila after 3 weeks vacation in Germany and France. Had a wonderful time and the patience and careful DIY planning all paid off.

Here's our itinerary:

Day 1-3  Arrived in  Frankfurt and stayed with hubby's bestfriend in Wiesbaden who acted as our tour guide for that part of the trip. So, relax-relax lang kami ni hubby. We toured the Rhine River valley and saw a lot of castles along the river. Beautiful! We also tried their local wines and delicacies specially at their Sunday farmer's market.

Day 4-10  Rented an SUV for a week for our road trip together with another couple. We did the Romantic Road Tour. It's a stretch of road at the southern part of Germany which starts in Wurzburg, passing by Rothenburg ob der Tauber (cute medieval town) all the way down to Fussen where Schloss Neuschwanstein is. The castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella castle.

Day 11  Watched the Passion Play in Oberammergau. This play which began in the 1600s is performed only every 10 years. Story behind it is that during the Thirty Years war where the bubonic plague was rampant, the citizens of Oberammergau made a vow to perform the play depicting the life and death of Jesus every 10 years if their town will be spared. Since then no deaths were attributed to the plague and the play has been shown since then.

Day 12-14  Went to Munich for the 200th anniversary of the Oktoberfest. Grabe the beer tents there. They were huge and capable of accommodating a thousand beer drinkers. Theresenwiese, the place where Oktoberfest was held was like The Disneyland for Drunks! What an experience! But of course it wasn't all beer drinking for us. We went to see all the churches and museums in the area. Some of the churches and palaces we went to were unbelievable in their wealth and ornateness. As my sister described it when she was looking at our pictures "jaw dropping".
