Off nya ng Thrusday and Sunday. So ang sagot ko lang talaga sa kanya bukod sa salary nya eh breakfast, lunch and merienda pag inabot sya ng 3 pm sa bahay. minsan kase 1 pm wala na sya ginagawa so uwi na sya.

Masyado akong nasanay sa HH, pero it came to a point na nagsasawa na ako at ako pa ang laging nakikisama sa sarili kong bahay.

TIngin ko, with the proper tools (Auto washing machine, Dryer, dishwasher, weekly housekeeper, plantsadora and labandera) kakayanin.

Now, yan ang goal ko. So, 1 lang muna ang maid ko (I have 3 kids). I am a WAHM and kaya naman. Nakakamiss kasi minsan nakakatamad.. pero dapat!

Dishwasher and dryer and next sa list ko because eventually my goal is maging Maid-free. Ex. I cook na 1 kind of food for Lunch, till dinner na yun. Kahit twice namin siyang kinain in a day... okay lang naman. MInsan, we go out or cook something else.

Miraculously, ngayon even ang mga kids with 1 HH (I used to have 2-3) natututo silang mag ligpit and my 7 year old is the one setting the table.

Little by little lang, para hindi nakaka shock. So, that's my advocacy.

When it was just me & my husband, yes kayang kaya na walng hh infact sa totoo lang mas prefer namin yung ganon although nakakapagod lalo na when you come home at night & still need to clean up after work... Pero like i said mas gusto ko yun kasi walang pinakikisamahan.

Pero now that we have a baby boy, di lang HH pati yaya meron na. Naiilang parin ako & nahihirapan ako mag disiplina as well as set the food budget pero like what a friend told me before, ang mga HH & yaya are unfortunately a necessary "evil"  :o :P

2 months na ko walang hh and i must say "sobrang hirap". I have a 4yr old kid, so medyo bantayin pa.

^I can relate. Ganyan din drama ko before when I only had 1 kid (2yo then) i was able to manage naman. Hatest ko ang plantsa and folding of clothes. Have you tried hiring a cleaning lady? I had 1 before who would come once a week to do general cleaning. I do light cleaning everyday (walis, dust) while my daughter was in school (I bring and fetch her too). But yung todo kuskos, cleaning behind the furniture, I leave that to the cleaning lady. Also Baka at your kid's age puwedeng kumain na siya mag-isa. It teaches them too independence. also I told my husband on weekends I don't want to cook (day off ni Inday  ;D). So usually we eat out or have something delivered. On a daily basis, I cook food for lunch and dinner (minsan same dish, misan 2 separate) while my daughter is in school. This way after dinner ang huhugasan ko na Lang are the servings plates, the plates na pinagkainan namin and the utensils.

I'd continue with the same setup since mas tipid (with 2 helps now, we're averaging Php 11k with suweldo alone). But I have 2 kids now with another 1 on the way. Di ko kakayaning mag-isa.

Its expensive na talaga to hire help these days, sa sweldo pa lang butas na pocket mo then dinpa kasama there yun miscellaneous like the food consumption, grocery, electricity & water consumption. When we got hh nag increase by 40% agad yung electric bill namin, yung food di ko pa nabibilang pero for sure mga 100% increase...

Queation? How do you ladies managed the budget and food consumption sa house ninyo with help around? Like what would be cost effective na ulam or tips kasi masama man sabihin pero luginkami ni hubby when it comes to food consumption kasi mas malakas pa sila kumain kesa sa amin. I swear.

Same as sis cldy when it was just my hubby and I we didn't have household help but now that we have a baby we had to get a yaya and maid.

Food bill alone I know has increased - before I would cook 2 ups of rice and it would last us 2 days, now that only covers 1meal with them. 1 loaf of bread last half a week Lang and I have to buy fish for their meals. I usually buy whatever fish is cheap that day. I also buy them instant noodles, hotdog (Cdo I think so its cheap. Liberty luncheon meat which is like 40-50 pesos n lots of veggies. Any leftover from our meal I give to them since neither hubby or I like eating leftover food. There are times though if they finish the bread fast, they'll buy their own na til I go to the grocery again. I want o give them enough as they do manual labor but it's hard to estimate how much is enough.

Our water bill has shot up to double the amount and we aren't washing our lothe here, except for baby and their clothes. I'm scared of what our electricity bill will be for the month. It's our first month at home so I'm still observing the changes and can draw up a realistic budget.

Cldy, for weekdays what I cook for dinner, that's what we eat for lunch. My husband doesn't eat at home, so no need to cook something special. This setup saves on gas and effort. I try to cook something with sarsa or sabaw then load it up with veggies. Aside from they're kid friendly, veggies are cheaper than meat. If its something dry, I pair it with a veggie dish. My maids are not big on ulam but on rice. As in 1 cup of rice (yung pangtakal sa rice cooker) for each of them. I tried before of buying them a separate cheaper rice but I notice our electricity increased.

No! I on my fourth week vacationing with my 2 year old and I swear I can't do wiout a yaya. I don't know if it's because she happens to be an extra makulit and exploring child or if di talaga ako mommy material. I can clean the house and rooms, but I can't do laundry unless washing machine and dryer. Huhuhuhu! I miss my kids yaya and our other maids. :(

we dont have a helper, but we managed.
when we were in the phils, kahit wala pa kaming anak noon, we have someone do our laundry, and my sis-in-law or their maid, would cook for us sometimes.

abroad, we are on our own. i even work part time at night. the only way we do this is to split the housework bet the two of us. kami la ng din nag aalaga ng anak namin. so far kaya naman. nakakapagod nga lang at times.

I can relate with you, sis. Kami ni hubby and our 7 year old (2 year old twins) ang kumakain... with 3 HH is parang doble ang food budget namin.  Some ideas lang sis of what I do...

1)When I buy meat sa grocery, I would portion na nakaplastic per meal. Ex.  I buy 12 pieces na leg quarter, then I ask yung butcher ipa chop into 5 pieces per leg and pinapa split ko into 2 separate plastics lahat. So, pag linuto... we have 30 pieces per lutuan which is good enough for 1 meal.

2)Also, in buying chicken... bumibili din ako ng whole chicken kasi it is cheaper per kilo than yung specific na parts.

3)I add lots of sahog per meal (ex. madaming patatas, carrots, at mga gulay than meat.)

Leftover the day before ang kinakain nila. Ayoko kasi nagtatapon ng pagkain.

5)Another thing I do para makatipid, bumibili ako ng mga separate canned goods na maliliit para sa mga HH ko. 3 sila, 2 lang kami technically ang kumakain (madalas pa, wala si hubby for lunch). So, mahal if kakain pa sila ng hotdog or bacon namin mag-ina. So, choice nila magluto ng delata nila or yung left over for their breakfast.

6)For the bigas, wala akong choice diyan. laging 4 gatang per meal kami talaga.

Honestly sis, now... 1 nalang HH ko. Nagsawa na ako for years nagtitiis sa madami. :)

Yes, kaya. I can manage without helpers, especially now my kids are 6 & 3 yrs old. They can help around the house, doing simple chores.

I think the only times i needed maid or yayas, was when i just gave birth. Kasi during those times, gusto ko lang mag-concentrate kay baby, not the chores.

initially, nagballoon ang expenses namin nung first 2 months.. since hindi sanay sa everyday chores, lagi masakit kasu-kasuan namin ;D  .. dont get me wrong sissies, we how how to do chores, we just dont do it that often kasi may maid naman.. so ayun, instead makatipid, nagballoon lalo ang cost since twice a week kami sa spa kasi masakit katawan lol.. bukod pa yung eating out kasi tinatamad magluto... pero ngayon ok na... back to normal na expenses... nasanay na katawan sa hirap at pagod lol ;D

now even laba and plantsa kami na gumagawa.. pero kapag talagang low bat na, meron naman on-call lavandera and plantsadora

Last first week of April umalis na ang yaya namin she stayed with us for more than 3 years, at bago namin siya nakuha we have an existing yaya for over a year, so for at least 5 years sanay talaga ako na may house help.

so agree! I was complaining with a US-based friend how hard it is for me now that both my helps are on vacation. She told me sila nga they dont have a maid but they survived. Ang trick lang daw is to share workload between you, your husband and kids. Well sa akin, kids are out of the equation since they're still both young. Re husband, maybe on weekends. But on weekdays so hard to rely on him cause he's at work. No offense meant to US-based people, but they have tools there to make things easier (i.e. dishwasher). Sama mo na that traffic is not that bad (my husband spends at least an hour for what should be a 15min drive lang dapat). Then you have the pollution. Di ka lang makapaglinis ng isang araw, you'd see the dust accumulating already. actually kakalinis mo lang sa umaga, sa hapon may dust na.

^ totoo sis hunny ally. I agree, my hubby often compares house hold living here and the US. Doon sobrang dali lang maglinis. Houses have built in vacuum halos wala naman daw alikabok. Tapos yung kitchen sink nilang may blades diretso na sa drainage system even nips of fruits naggrind nun pati daliri. :D
