Do you lend your books?

NO. people tend not to return books. annoying nga cuz i have a former classmate na dinadayo pa talaga ako dito sa house para manghiram ng books, tapos super bihira sha magsoli.. so what i do is, i dont keep good books lying around, or i'd tell her that i'm not yet done with the books. sadly, she does not get the message.

I lend books to two of my closest friends only. Both are bookworms like me so they understand how I take care of my books, besides madali lang silang habulin in case overdue na sa kanila yun book ko.

yes, but very seldom. I only lend my books to those I know would take good care of them.

when i was in highschool, i have the whole christopher pike collection.. then friends and classmates started borrowing one by one..:p they never returned it..:p i never asked my parents to buy me books.. i save my lunch money for anything that i wanted to buy.. but i dismissed it thinking atleast someone's reading the book and enjoying it.. after all  since i'm done with it, i will only be keeping it anyway.. fast forward to 2010.. nagsisisi ako.. napabasa ko sana sa mga pamangkin ko.. i think they will really like it.. i can't find it na sa bookstores eh and whenever i tell the stories.. they look really interested.. oh well, past is past.. i'm just making sure this is never gonna happen to my anne rice and coelho collection and to my other books as well..:p
i give away books that i won't be reading anymore.. and also those that i won't be passing on to anyone.. :p .. and i would lend people my other books but only if i'm 100% sure they're gonna return it safe and sound..

i do for some books. but there are just some people mostly my friends pa who doesnt know how to return it back. kaya i make kulit pa asking them. and by the way i keep a list of the whereabouts of my books. so i wouldnt lost them eventually.

before i do not lend my books, sobrang maingat ako sa mga books ko, as in all of those have plastic covers and labeled with my name.
Then there came a time that i got generous and lent some... and i regret it! Two of my favorite books were not returned  Yung 1984 by George Orwell and yung Chronicles of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez...
Inis na inis ako [textspeak!] of all the books na hinihiram, yun pa talga yung pinahiram ko diba, inis ako sa sarili ko. And hindi yun mga paperback, hardbound yung mga yun.
kaya ever ever, hindi na ako magpapahiram ng book, kung gusto man manghiram dapat sleepover sa bahay ko. ha ha ha

I used to lend my books, pero nagkaron ako ng trauma nung hiniriam yung Bob Ong collection ko, at hindi na binalik! From then on. I always pick the people to lend my book to.

nope as much as possible. kasi ingat na ingat ako sa books ko, as in marami akong books good as new. either di na nasosoli or di na same condition pag sinoli. i have very few experiences like that noon.

even may mags collection diko din pinapahiram outside, if ever may gumamit (sa bahay lang) binibilin ko dahan dahan turn ng pages baka malukot nyahaha...

I borrowed a book from a friend at work for quality assurance. It was an awesome book so I had it with me wherever I went. So brilliant me in a flash of lazyness/inspiration decide to sit out in the rain with some friends while waiting for the typical friday traffic to die out. We figured if we got up , there wouldnt be any tables anyway so might as well stay put ( which we were right about )  and the rain probably wouldnt be too bad ( which we were wrong about).   

Everything was fine and dandy, until I realized on monday that the book I was carrying around was still soaking wet. I tried to buy it from my friend and he wouldnt let me because it was the Chief Financial Officer's book and it was signed by the author.

I had to return the the book turned sea monkey book to CFO who probably until that day didnt even know I existed.

may nagpahiram sa akin na hard cover ng The Lost Symbol ni Dan Brown nakita niya kasi akong nagbabasa sabi ko na hindi ko matatapos agad months baka years pa hindi kasi ako bookworm. sabi niya "Okay lang" walang sabi sabing ingatan mo yan. binagay na niya sa akin pero hindi ko pa nauumpisahan!!

on the topic: yes, i lend them my books. ang bungad ko lagi "Ingatan mo, ha." and after sometime pagbalik sa akin the same pa din.

yup, lalo na kung good read siya pero pinipili ko lang din..may mga books na din kasi akong di nasoli after ipahiram.
