Hi mga mommies 👩 totoo ba na pag sa st jude mag aaral eh mahihirapan yung mga bata? Meron kasi ko narinig na yung ibang mommies nagsisi daw bakit nila sa st jude pinaaral mga anak nila. Natatakot tuloy ako for my kids.. Tnx

Saint Jude alumnus here, when you study in Saint Jude it is expected that academics is a must. We must balance our academics with our extra-curricular activities.

I have batch mates and some friends who transferred to other school and they emerged as the top performers of their class. Plus the Chinese education that I learned from SJCS is a big plus when I graduated. I went to Taiwan and stayed there for 3 weeks. Some locals mistook me for being a native, and to their surprise I said that I'm an oversees Filipino - Chinese, they said that my Mandarin was good. I guess to each his own, but I will always be grateful to my  alma matter for the discipline and education that she has given to me.

I think when you graduate it's not the school but it's the individual who graduated from it who determines his/her destiny.

If it's the Chinese curriculum ( meaning students who can understand and speak the language well ) then I think Saint Jude, CKSC and Uno High School stand out. SJCS is consistent in topping the NSAT and NCAE.

^ In my case, it's the surroundings and the friends your child will accumulate in his/her stay in the school which will help him/her when he/she grows up. If I have a child, I'd tell him/her to befriend the classmates with influential families and thank me when he/she grows up.

As for the Chinese curriculum, I never mastered the Chinese language because this is a non-Chinese speaking country where you can talk in Chinese with anyone. Without verbal practice, it's really difficult to master the language.

I think there are plenty of Chinese here and if you do business you will surely come across 1 or 2 Chinese along the way,  so learning the language is essential. As for practicing I have to watch Chinese shows in cable, read the Chinese local paper just to brush up on my Chinese.

St. Jude is ok, but they kill the childhood of the kids who attend school there. Agree, there must be a balance between academics and extra-curricular and I just don't see it in this school. Plus, is this the only school who selects their prom dates for their students? Eww

ICA naman, I don't like the idea of an all-girl school. Girls just come out different there (I should know, my sister, cousin and a couple of friends come from there)

Not a fan of downtown schools for accessibility and safety.

Hay I don't know what else to consider.

Hve you considered MGC at fort area? I'm highly considering sending my daughter there, they have good chinese curriculum plus based on christian foundation, i know a lot of parents who sends their kids there so another plus for us.

i think ang impression kadalasan pag from Xavier/ Ica eh masyadong sheltered or maarte or brat.

^ i guess they have that impression but i came from there and i guess it really is just a different culture all together. pero hindi naman sila/kami bad people and a lot of them turn out good and well rounded din naman.

there are a lot of achievers din and you will have a good connections when you graduate. hindi lang talaga exemplary yung chinese education.

^^ Yeah.. When I was still a freshman, we were all asked to give a short introduction about ourselves. When the teacher realized I was from XS, sabi niya "Xavier ka? Mayabang ka no?". Of course, it was meant as a joke but branded ka na to begin with.

^ have some friends who have their kids there, ok daw siya, and maganda ang student per class ratio. Malayo lang sa amin kaya di ko na enroll anak ko diyan.
