according daw sa studies mas mahirap i wean ang babies na nag thumb suck or fingers ang gamit to suck kesa sa soother.

True sis, iyan dina ng advise ni pedia sa akin. Kaya no'ng naguumpisa pa lang mag thumb-suck ang daughter ko, binibigyan ko na agad ng binky. Kahit niluluwa niya ang binky at nag-thumb suck instead, mas makulit pa rin ako.

personally, i don't want my baby to use a pacifier. sobrang pilit nga ng yaya nya sa akin na bili ako ng pacifier kasi sobrang iyak iyak si baby ko lalo na pag di nya makuha yung antok nya. sabi ko sa yaya namin na padedein na lang si baby imbes na magpacifier. but i read at babycenter that pacifiers reduce the occurrence of SIDS. kasi, there's a tendency na machochoke si baby sa milk pag natulugan nya yung dede nya. so better daw ang pacifier. but still, no pacifier for my baby

^ reall. tibay mo sis ah. 2 months baby ko when she started using soothers. cant' stand the cries. nakatulong talaga to. pero use nya lang pag matutulog sya.

^hehe. napapatahan naman namin si baby pag umiiyak sya. she always stops crying basta binubuhat sya. tamad lang siguro si yaya na buhatin si baby kaya nagpapabili ng pacifier. but for now, wala munang pacifier. baka next time pag talagang di na tumatahan sa pagiyak si baby ko.

is it safe to let newborns use pacifiers?  my baby's 2wks old pa lang.. i bought playtex silicone pacifier before i gave birth, di ko sure kung puwede ko na gamitin altho it says in the packaging it's for 0 to 24mos.

what's the proper use ba for pacifiers? when should i give it?

sabi ni pedia 1 month old dapat ibigay ang pacifier, but some give it earlier. 4 weeks baby ko when i let him used pacifier..its so helpful especially when he's antok na. it really soothes him.

baby ko up to 3 months lang ng pacifier then after ayaw na nya niluluwa na nya... kahit nung asa plane kami pauwi ng pinas try ko sya bigyan ng pacifier susko.. mag aaway lang kayo,, eto naka tambak pacifier sa house ko...

Sis, dito kasi, advise ni pedia once na marunong ng mag-suck si baby sa bottle (when bottle-fed) or sa breast, pwede ng bigyan ng pacifier. Kasi meron silang sucking-need eh, so okay lang as early as possible.

my baby uses a pacifier. yung silicon na orthodontic (tama ba and term?). yun kasi sabi ng pedia. wag daw pagamiting ng pacifier unless orthodontic. i forgot na the brand kasi tinapon ko na yung pack nun. bought it at sm department store.

mga sis may alternative ba sa pacifier & teether, yung malambot. kasi ayaw pa rin ni baby (3mo 3 wks) ng pacifier (avent-feeling nya pang milk lang siguro, kung walang milk syang makukuha, ayaw nya) & ng teether (fr mothercare-natitigasan sya). siguro gusto nya something na malabot, kasi ang gusto niya parati yung kamay nya. meron kayang something na malambot for babies? tia!

have you tried the the non-latex from pigeon? yung brown?

sisses, hindi ba maaapektuhan yung growth ng teeth ni baby pag gumamit ng pacifiers? hindi ko kasi alam kung ipapagamit ko kay baby ang pacifier eh... first time mum po ako

maapektuhan sis. pero meron namang ibang moms na nag attest, ok naman daw teeth ng mga babies nila kahit nag binky.

mommies hindi ba nakaka cause ng kabag ang pacifier? im thinking whether to buy one for my baby since ang lakas niya mag suck. natatakot kasi ako baka naooverfeed na siya, she always spit up (naglulungad) pa naman. yung pacifiers ba same dapat sa size or kind of teat na ginagamit ni baby? does it cause nipple confusion, say in breastfeeding?

    my baby is turning 17 months old na and he gave up na using his pacifier nung 14 months na siya..we started him pagkapanganak pa lang niya..binkies has their owns age brackets sis..so meron na from 0 months to 3 months..so on and so forth...ang gamit ko din before is silicone na orthodontic..saka sa panganay ko nga pala before he uses it till 24 months na siya... 
     
    i also learn from my nursing  class before that  every stage man´s  has its different Erogenous Zone...According to Sigmund Freud:The oral stage lasts from birth to about 18 months. The focus of pleasure is, of course, the mouth. Sucking and biting are favorite activities. It appeared to Freud that the infant found its greatest pleasure in sucking, especially at the breast. In fact, babies have a penchant for bringing nearly everything in their environment into contact with their mouths.So pacifiers help them also to satisfy there needs....If you, in the first eight months of your life, are often frustrated in your need to suckle, perhaps because mother is uncomfortable or even rough with you, or tries to wean you too early, then you may develop an oral-passive character. An oral-passive personality tends to be rather dependent on others. They often retain an interest in "oral gratifications" such as eating, drinking, and smoking. It is as if they were seeking the pleasures they missed in infancy.

When we are between five and eight months old, we begin teething. One satisfying thing to do when you are teething is to bite on something, like mommy's nipple. If this causes a great deal of upset and precipitates an early weaning, you may develop an oral-aggressive personality. These people retain a life-long desire to bite on things, such as pencils, gum, and other people. They have a tendency to be verbally aggressive, argumentative, sarcastic, and so on.

I'm thinking of buying pacifier na tuloy for my baby. I didn't want her to use pacifier kahit malakas sya magsuck. Natatakot ako na she might prefer her pacifier over her milk.

^ thanks sis for the information!  buti na lang at di ko finorce na mag wean ang baby ko from my breast.  kasi everytime na pina plano ko na i-wean sya parang palaging may second thoughts kaya ngaun di pa din sya wean.  i am still breastfeeding him.  though he used binky for about a week or two then ayaw na nya.  thanks ulit sis!
