ALL ABOUT PACIFIER ("Binky")

ako din I find it hard to stop my  baby from using his pacifier.... But my pedia did! During one my pedia visit, the doctor told my 18 month old baby that she is going to take away his binky.. kunwari binigay na namin sa pedia nya at tuwing naghahanap sya ng binky lagi ko sinasabi asa doctor na.. at dahil ayaw nya sa pedia nya tumatahimik naman sya..  Since then hindi na nya hinanap ang kanyang paci.. =)

my daughter is already 26 months old pero nag bibinky pa rin before going to bed.

^plus, i cut off all her binkies. para no temptation on my part to give it to her once she started crying. days after that, she totally forgot about the binky habit

i'm qouting this kasi when Hershey turned 2 she enjoyed biting her binky hanggang mabutas na to. she has 10 binkies, the latest 2 i bought from SM BCD at 500+. kaloka mahal. tapos yung isa butas na.

3 binkies lang ang di butas and now that she knows na colors, alam nya na that avent binkies pink, yellow and red are not butas. usually eto hahanapin nya. most of the time we make excuses pra yung the rest na butas ang gamitin nya.

sana with these butas binkies marealize nya na wala ng maganda effect na naidudulot ito sa kanya. pero praise God na pantay pantay ang tubo ng ngipin, mabuti at namana saken. dad nya kasi plus mga aunts nag braces.

concern ko lang e kung may sakit sya mas gusto nya may pacifier. especially inuubo. pag may binky kasi sya parang nas-stop ang cough nya. sya din naka discover nito. kasi siguro lagi nag swallow ng saliva. pero pag may sakit kasi di ba mas prone sa ear infection?

at, AVENT lang gusto nya.

ako di ko sinabi sa pedia ko na pinagagamit ko sya ng binky..
lately kahit tanggalin ko yung binky nya sya mismo nagsusubo..pero kalimitan naman pinaglalaruan nya.. ginagawa nyang teether or minsan rattle!! ahahaha

my daugher also uses pacifier when sleeping.. pero di ko masyado pinapagamit kasi sabi nga nila it can cause protruding teeth daw.. so minsan lang until she stop na din siguro.. she uses pigeon pacifier..

^ i heard about that too, sabi din it will cause crooked teeth pero not true for my daughter who used it from 3 months til now. maybe because this is only used when sleeping. i don't know.

crooked pa teeth ng friend nya na same age din nya but never used pacifier.

From 5 months onwards binky lover son ko. Hindi din sunki teeth Nya. 17months na sya now. When he turned one, pampatulog na lang. Minsan nakalimutan din.

dont let your babies use to much binky esp when they have colds. according to my duaghter's pedia this can lead to ear infection. this is one of the reasons why we had to go cold turkey on my daughter with her binky use.

^ yes als. naalala nga kita last week when H had colds and she wants to use the binky because she thinks it helps her control her coughing.

^^ coco chanel, depende sa baby mo. my daughter likes any brand of pacifier dati. now avent na lang gusto nya.

According to the pedia dentist, mas ok na raw Binky kesa gamitin ni baby yung finger nya.  She said mas madali yun makasungki.  Pero mas ok daw kung wala, kaso Paulie could not sleep without his pacifier.

ako din naghahanap ng good pacifier for my baby, she's using Avent bottles, siguro better kung Avent na din yung binky niya.

nagstart baby ko magpacifier nung 1month+ old palang sya. until now nagpapacifier pa rin sya, pero these past few weeks parang mas gusto na nya yung kamay at daliri nya. pigeon paci gamit namin, we also have avent pero ayaw nya. ewan ko ba kay baby, eh avent bottles and teats naman sya. pero nalalakihan siguro sya sa binky ng avent compared sa pigeon na mas maliit at manipis. and pigeon kasi yung first na naintroduce ko, so baka mas gusto nya na talaga to. sayang 4pcs na avent ayaw naman gamitin! tsk tsk tsk..

we're using avent pacifiers din.. (we use nuby bottles with pigeon nipples tsaka we retired our avent bottles with pigeon)we have four na alternate nyang ginagamit..kaso since gianna uses it nga as a teether/toy gasgas na yung nipples.. namamahalan na akong bumili ng avent na pacifier..tapos after a few weeks butas na..
i searched for pacifiers na mura pero ok naman..found yung brand na richell.. sa youji&me ko nabili..made in japan..orthodontic sya.. has it's own takip (unlike playtex) P134 lang ang isa.. downside lang 1 color lang sya.. white and gray lang. pero ha! ang mura nya..
at first nanibago si gianna..pero she got the hang of it..will buy 2 more nung pacifiers tapos tapon ko na yung mga avent baka kasi pag continued use pa nya yun eh makakain na sya ng silicon.

regarding pacifiers vs. thumb
imo.. mas ok ang pacifiers.. mas madaling ma-wean ang bata sa binky..pag tinanggal mo ang binky ok na..utu-utuin mo lang ang thumb hindi mo matatanggal di ba? tsaka 2 pa yung ma-deform.. yung teeth nya tsaka yung thumb.. i know 2 kids na ganun..both thumbs na deform kaka thumbsuck

Thanks, ayaw ng pedia ni Sophia mag pacifier siya, hehe:D Pero nagstart lang kasi siya magpacifier nung 4 months and half siya, before that daliri lang niya kinakain niya pero ngayon nga napapansin ko hndi na niya sinusubo braso, fingers niya. Before i posted na hindi sulit teethers ng baby ko pero bawi ko na yun hehe, kasi she uses it a lot
