Once pa lang ako naka-attend ng bridal shower sa friend ko, may male dancer, tapos depende sa audience kung gusto may touch, or all-the-way hubad. Eh yun group namin medyo conservative tsaka pati si bride conservative sayaw lang wala all-the-way tsaka wala hawak.

hi belle_v2g, i think you can do it in any hotel you want. what you may want to consider is the size of the room you're getting. just make sure it's big enough to accommodate all of your guests and there's room for any games you may want to do ^_^

^ we organized a bridal shower before at Victoria Court. medyo pricey pero cute kasi ng rooms may themes pa. pang bridal shower talaga. sulit naman kasi consumable yung food. other common hotels for parties in general are linden, astoria and lancaster. malaki kasi ang rooms and hindi sila strict sa noise, number of persons sa rooms and bringing in of food and drinks.

How many guests are usually invited to bridal showers?

My MoH just asked me to come up with my guest list and although she said there's no limit to the headcount, I definitely don't want to give her (or anyone) a hard time in planning. I have about 27 names drafted but seriously considering cutting this down to just the entourage and my highschool friends.

What about you ladies?

^My MOH also asked for my guestlist. Who is usually invited ba to a bridal shower? Friends and female famiyl or just friends? And whats the difference between that and a bachelorette?

Lol is it weird, i dont even want one! I don't want to be the center of attention and getting fussed over. I'd rather have nice normal dinner with friends any day. I don't want to be asked embarrassing questions and given lingerie and other naughty gifts in front of family. In fact, my fiance and I would prefer to skip this altogether haha merge nalang!

I dont know how to let the MOH know that im not exactly looking forward to it :s
Might be one of those things I'll just have to let slide cos i dont want to hurt her feelings either.

^ based on what I've read, the bridal shower can be attended by immediate female relatives and other ladies while you limit the bachelorette to your closest friends. You can also reserve the 'wilder' stuff for the latter although that's not really up my department. :)

I think you can ask your MoH to keep it simple, like a great dinner at one of your favorite restaurants or a spa date and then there's no pressure to open gifts in front of everyone. I attended a bridal shower where the bride didn't open gifts anymore but maybe that's also because we were about 50 girls there. :P Hahaha.

I actually want a dinner where everyone comes in a little black dress since I'm never going to get my black & white wedding, but have no idea how to hint to my MoH. I just told her na ayoko na ng "create a wedding dress out of toilet paper" game. (Save the trees!)

i think just having close friends and the entourage will be fine for the bridal shower. for the ones i've attended we only had the bride's
close friends there.

just throwing a few ideas out here:
1) spa date - you can book the entire spa and they'll even prepare food and drinks for you and your friends. i'm not sure whether there is one in manila.
2) dinner/luncheon at a wonderful restaurant
3) painting - a friend of ours is getting married and her office friends got this painting session as her bridal shower. so unique!
4) diy dinner and games at a hotel room
5) dinner and ktv - especially for brides who love to sing

reese, I love your LBD dinner idea -- just tell your MoH, I'm sure she'd be happy to know your preferences, and you aren't asking for anything extravagant :)

just let your MOH know your preferences. di naman strict what kind of bridal showers should be followed. i was telling my sister who is my MOH na no dancers please pero they really want to get one for themselves. oh well.
some of the bridal showers i attended:

1. simple potluck dinner in a home or hotel room with a few games
2. sparty with potluck food. we had this at manos nail lounge in bgc. we rented the whole place, kkb for everyone but we all chipped in treatments for the bride. they also serve cocktails which is a plus.
3. victoria court party room (package is all-in, male dancer was booked somewhere else)
4. lunch in a chinese restaurant with the females from the bride's family and entourage

if you don't want to get the naughty lingerie in front of everyone, my friend's MOH declared a theme for our bridal shower gifts. so we were all advised to give gifts for the bedroom and bathroom which was something they really needed naman for their new place. the oldies gave all the essentials and well the younger ones spiced it up a bit.

I am lucky to have experienced 2 surprise bridal showers already.  :)

1st one was given by my sister and cousins and HS best friends - it was done in Astoria (2br suite). There were delicious party trays for food (ordered from a caterer), cake from Kink Cakes, funny shaped lollipops (u know what it is), and booze. They made me change  to a white dress and put a veil on me, and a sash - bride na bride!   My sister hosted games, there was a game that I really liked bec it talked abt me and my fiance, they asked my fiance a set of questions, and then at the party they asked me those questions too, so yun dapat lang pareho kami sagot. Ang nice kasi parang mas nakilala kami as a couple nung mga tao na nasa party, isa isa sila nagtanong nung questions.  And then the pasabog, they hired a dancer! Couldn't believe it!!!  Of course there were drinking games, it was a really really fun night all in all!  ;D Marami  pa natira sa food so may bfast pa kami next day.  OK sa Astoria, the suite was so huge. May corkage lang sa food. Alcohol din dapat, but di na nila nakita so ok lang. We took the bottles with us when we left para sure :)

The 2nd surprise bridal shower was done just recently, it was organized by my office friends. It was a sparty! Venue was Kookai's Kitty Spa in Makati - it is a Hello Kitty themed spa. So girly and pa-sweet and wholesome naman itong bridal shower version na ito haha. They also put a sash on me and a white flower crown. There were food, drinks and cake (kinky) which are included in the package. There was videoke. And of course, we all had our turn of mani-pedi.  The bride, moi, will get to choose bet gel mani or 1hr massage - NO BRAINER. I didn't avail of the massage that  day bec it would mean 1 hour less na makaksama ko sila. So balik na lang ako another day for it, ok lang naman daw.  They also showered me with gifts!  ;D   It was a super fun night!!!  So much laughter, girl bonding, and singing ;D I really recommend a sparty for any occasion (for girls), it's fun.  :)

I am thankful for these girls who really took time, effort and spent money to throw me these surprise parties!  :-*  :-*  :-*

^Hi sis tomatoseller 😄 what exactly are you looking for? 😄 To share, we've thrown a bridal shower for our closest friends who got married last December within 1 week of each other. It was done in Luljetta Hanging Gardens in Antipolo wherein Loreland Resort is. It was a joint party with their fiances included as well. :)  We asked for the private pool package with the massage included.

Last June my friends gave me a bridal shower in a hotel. We had a dayspa first then dinner in the hotel resto. They gave me a surprise party as I thought it was just a dayspa and dinner but it turned out that they also asked the staff at the Marco Pierre White's resto to prepare dessert and somethibg special. They also asked me to don a sash and veil. And after dinner and gift giving, we went to the bar to be surprised by all of my other friends who weren't able to go to dinner with us. It was so thoughtful of the.

^the program will be dependent on the chosen theme but just to share, on the 5 bridal shower I organized (suki ako as maid of honor, tee hee!), here’s a simple outline:

- Registration – this part I placed lang on one bridal shower wherein they need to give me the letters they wrote for the b2b secretly so kunwari may reg pa. 
- Short welcome remarks
- Dinner/ Lunch/ Eat
- Games
- Gift giving
- Messages
- Pictorial (as if there weren’t enough shots taken :p)

Hello Everyone!
I'm new here but I need help planning a bridal shower for my friend - I'm the MOH and we're both coming from the US. She doesn't want a bachelorrette - naughty night, so I want to keep everything classy and just do a bridal shower. I have about 15 people in the guest list including the bride and I need suggestions for venues in the Alabang area. She's going to get married in Fernbrook and will have the wedding preps in Bellevue, so I thought of just getting a suite that could fit 15 people... however I don't know if there are other alternatives. I planned on having a small party with games and some food... then probably dinner in the one of the restaurants there. It'll be 2 days before the wedding so we're a little pressed for time. any suggestions venue-wise?
I'm considering the Junior suite but I think it's too small for 15 people... The premier suite seemed to be a little much for one night. Any help/input is appreciated. Thank you.

^ Hi sis. How about you pick a theme sis, and then you go from there. Last year, me and a friend of mine (we're both based overseas as well) gave a bridal shower to one of our best friends who's based in Manila. We did it in a spa in Antipolo a few days before her wedding.  We coordinated with the spa while we were still abroad, and we collected the souvenirs for the guests, while abroad since we knew that we wouldn't have any time anymore once we arrive in Pinas.  Since it was spa themed, our souvenirs were small lotions, small shampoos and conditioners, shower gels and personal soaps. Our best friend and other friends loved it hehe. We rented out one of the spa's function rooms and availed of their package wherein we could get a massage and foot spa. We also availed of the spa's in-house catering. After our massage and footspa, we had our  games(naughty and otherwise) and trivias :). It was a very well spent 6 hours :).

If you're going to do it in a hotel, just take into consideration the hotel's regulations, like bringing of outside food, number of people in the room and such :)  How about makeup turorials? Or like a slumber party thened shower? Goodluck sis
