^We stayed at the Comfort Inn, Theater District on 44th street. It's a relatively new hotel kaya malinis specially the banyo. We were able to get good rates since long stay kami. The hotel staff were mostly Indians and were very accommodating. I would stay there again on my next visit.

what about yung www.tours4fun.com ? heard of it?  tiningnan ko yung reviews meron bad meron din good... pero cheaper kasi and wala kana iisipin... sila na bahala.. depends na lang ata sa tourguide sa time ng travel mo... hope ko na lang siguro na okay yung tourguide na ma assign sa amin.. thanks!

sis, check out Comfort Inn The Pointe in Prospect Pointe NF NY..
the last time we were there, the rate was 175 USD
it is a very nice and clean inn.

the closer you are to the falls, the more expensive hotel rates are. but the proximity has a lot of perks since you could just be walking distance to the falls on both sides.

Try the suggestion of Cha_kobi. or try best western, hampton inn, holiday inn decent motel with good rates.

Just got back from a week long stay in NYC. Super fun!

Hi, mama squeak! I'm also planning a week long trip to NYC. Given that we will mostly be doing touristy things, eat decent food (maybe a meal or two at a nice restaurant), and catch a Broadway play -- how much do you think would be a reasonable budget to allot for 2 people (for 7 days)? Thanks in advance =)

I frequent Norma's, great specially for brunch... Will try Baltazar's next time.

@hippiechick, our hotel alone we spent 1K. Cheaper if you stay outside of Manhattan but since we only had a week to take in most of the sights we didn't want to be bothered commuting. More or less here's a breakdown of our expense:

6 nights stay for a DBL room at a hotel in the Theater District - $1000
7 days Metro Pass -$30/person
Phantom of the Opera tickets (front mezzanine) - $170/person
Entrance Fees various attractions - $100/person
Food/drinks - $200-250 since our hotel provided free buffet breakfast we spent mostly for dinner. Most of the time my sister and I didn't have time for lunch kasi busy taking in all the sights.
Shopping depends on your budget!

Yup, I love airbnb.com! I've used it mostly for my European trips. For our NY trip, we wanted to stay in Manhattan but the airbnb units there were more expensive than the hotels. So we ended up staying in a hotel that was slightly cheaper.

Another good website that I've tried is Hotwire. Although it takes a lot of planning and guess work to find out the hotel being offered since you find out the name of the hotel only after the purchase.

You can actually get cheaper tickets for Broadway shows, if you're not looking to buy tickets for in demand shows. Try BroadwayBox.com for discount codes. When we watched Phantom, our tickets were only about $50 each.

Or if you're willing to line up, TKTS is the way to go.
