sis,pls help me  mag decide..I want to open ng savings account sa bdo but hindi ako makapagdecide kung atm only, passbook only or both..

What are the advantages/disadvantages pag isa lang or pareho?Help me po... :)

AFAIK, BDO offers the lowest amount to be deposited if you want to open a savings account. they require 5k (passbook+atm) while other banks is 10k (passbook lang)

nag open ako sa BDO kasi madami silang ATM na nagkalat at branch. open kahit weekends sa mall. gusto ko na sana i close ito dahil hindi maganda ang service (tapos pinadalhan pako ng CC without my consent) kaso my paycheck comes from BDO.

mas ok saken yung BPI :) i also tried Security Bank. ok din. di mo masyadong magagalaw pera mo kahit konti lang ATM

geishaslut

- no ATM deposit kaya need mo pumunta sa branch at pumila.
- merong online banking wherein pwede ka mag money transfer, mobile reload, check transactions, etc.
- yung mobile reload nga lang nila online e madalas mag error. debited account tapos di mo marereceive ang load. so kelangan mo tyagain i dispute at ifollow up everyday thru phone at email. at least 5 banking days ata processing?
- low opening account, low maintaining balance, low interest rate
- no need to carry around cash if you have ATM since accepted naman POS, direct debit.
- kung maganda ang record (e.g. more deposit than withdrawal, may chance they will provide a CC and BDO rewards) yung BDO rewards, points lang hindi discount card pero you can use it to pay kasi converted yung points to cash.

^ yup, medyo hassle kasi over the counter ang deposit.

unless, yung payroll / allotment mo is BDO din, you can just transfer online from payroll to savings account.

Both for me.

If sa BDO ka mag oopen i suggest get the Optimum Savings account.

I prefer a separate.... Passbook-with-ATM for your emergencies and Passbook only for your savings

I opened a passbook account before, and, my god, nabwiset ako how I have to keep going to the bank and needing a teller's services to update the current balance on that passbook. I find a passbook so outdated. Ako pa naman yung tipong bookkeeper who needs all accounts to be always updated and viewable at one glance. It's not suited to my finance handling style, so I shut down that account after a month. ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking only for me. That, and cold, hard cash.

Both... I have passbok account and 2 atm's account. Yung passbook savings talaga yun as in hindi pwede mag withdraw. Yung atm1 is for revolving funds namin lahat ng gastos doon ko kinukuha at lagi kong dala and maximum of 10k lang lagi ko nilalagay. The atm2 is for emergency fund or big purchses, which is hindi ko lagi dinadala pag meron scheduled big purchase transfer ko lang sa atm1.

I opened that kind of account last week sa BDO. I have a problem with the passbook and I hope di sya major major problem. Eto kasi yun:) The CSR effed up with the inputting or printing sa passbook mismo ng address ko. Actually di naman sya mali kundi kulang lang yung address ko which I am very sure e nainput ko naman dun sa form.

Ang nawala is the name of the city in the metro where my address is. I overlooked na din kasi nagmamadali ako after dahil sa bagal nilang kumilos dun and I was in a hurry to get to another important errand. Example: "Kristalle Ynarez, Unit 2121 Marcos Highway Tuscany Bldg. Valley Golf". As in parang ganyan, mali din ang arrangement na nauna pa ang street name kesa sa condo name, jusmio. And then yun nga biglang stop sa subdivision complex ang address.

Nakakalat nga din pala ang info na yan throughout the page hindi swak dun sa for example: Acct. name -  , Address- Hindi sya nakatapat dun yung mga info.

Pls. mga sis, what can you say about this? Pwede ko ba papalitan to sa branch?Last friday ko sya naopen. I am a little bit under the weather kasi kaya I won't be able to just go to the bank, mga 3 days pa siguro to recover. I am now very worried.

^Hi Sis Kristalle, yes you can request for correction of your address and other info.  You just have to go to your branch of account and request for maintenance. Usually, may form that you have to fill-out. Ok din kasi na maicorrect kasi usually they will send you a letter. To thank you and at the same time it will confirm if the address is valid.

I have both.

I have 2 atms. One is for payroll, yun ang lagi kong dala, then the other one is for savings din. So kapag sweldo na, I'll make sure nakakapagfund transfer ako sa isang atm. Tapos kapag nakuha ko na yung target savings ko for a month (5k as an example), withdraw ko siya then lipat ko na siya sa passbook ko.. :)

Kami ni hubby may personal passbook each. Ayoko kasi ng atm. Pero i am thinking of opening a passbook and a separate atm account pero same bank para we could transfer from passbook to atm thru online banking. Kasi i am thinking of a way na if something happens to one of us (knock on wood) eh maitransfer lahat ng nasa passbook to atm para no hassle withdrawal sa maiiwan. Pahirap talaga.

ako naman I only have atm sa ngayon at meron din akong inenrol na account online para dun. pero sa mga nababasa ko madalas sa news tungkol sa mga unauthorized withdrawals or yun may nakahack sa online account mo at nagtransfer ng pera mo sa acct nila, natakot na ako. narealize ko mas ok pa rin pala ang makaluma paraan ng passbook at over the counter deposit at withdrawal.

Both

ATM from my payroll account
Passbook with ATM for my personal savings and another

Convenient kasi na may kasamang ATM yung passbook savings kasi in case of emergency makakapag withdraw ka even in the wee hours.

ATM - this is where I put money for budget or other monthly expenses. convenient mag withdraw.
Passbook - this is where I put my savings and separate for my son's savings. maganda kasi may record ka ng transactions. after nangyari sa BPI na nagka gulo online  sinisguro ko talaga na malalaking amount ng pera or savings naka passbook.

Atm and checking account yung sa akin
Also atm sa ibang bank

I track my money sa online app lang. Real time kasi, pag may transaction ako makikita ko na agad pag nag login sa app.

Sa passbook kailangan pa mag over the counter to get it updated. Minsan hassle pa kasi ang haba ng pila unless your bank is not one of those busy banks or time it na walang masyadong pila.

Sa bpi they have branches that you can make cash deposit sa machine para hindi na pumila over the counter. I love the convenience of it kasi kahit hindi banking hours pwede pa din mag deposit. Need lang yung atm card.
