« on: September 02, 2019, 06:55:21 pm »
The Internal Revenue Service checks all e-filed tax returns and will automatically reject your TurboTax filing if there are discrepancies the data. You have a look at the list below to check why the IRS may have rejected your tax return:
?   The Social Security number (SSN) mentioned is incorrect.
?   Tax return includes a Taxpayer Identification Number that is invalid.
?   The name on your tax return was misspelled or did not match IRS records.
?   TurboTax filing is missing a form that is required by the IRS.
In case you need to make any changes to your TurboTax filing you can call the Turbotax customer service number and ask for additional technical assistance.

My SSN was mentioned as incorrect the first time I've tried and I freaked out, but I figured it out and could do it after all.

Most likely there were some discrepancies in your form. Normally, in such cases, the IRS would notify you and inform you of the reason for it being rejected, and give you step-by-step instructions on how to correctly fill it in and resubmit it. If they somehow didn't tell you the reason, make sure to go on the official website and double-check every single section of your TurboTax filing. Is it your first time using it? I would recommend thoroughly reading the guidelines to make sure you aren't missing anything. I would also recommend using a paystub maker in the future if you don't already. A super useful (and free!) tool to keep track of your finances and taxes.
