Newly Married: Documents to update for change of Marital status

7 years na kami married pero ni isang doc, including my passport im still using my father's last name.

These I updated right away:
Work-related documents, IDs and emails
Bank accounts + ATM cards
All investment accounts (also indicated my husband as the new irrevocable beneficiary)
Bills (Because I pay for these using my bank account)
*I also immediately got a postal ID with my married name

These I updated only upon expiration/renewal:
Driver's license
Passport (Also traveled with my marriage certificate/postal ID first)
Car registration
Philhealth (also registered as a married couple so we'd only need to pay 1 premium)
Health insurance

Pending:
Credit card (Parang hindi ko na iuupdate 'to... wala naman pakialam yung company, as long as bills are paid on time)
Life insurance (Shopping for a new one so I have not updated the old one)


You can actually legally keep your maiden name. All you change is your status from single to married. Here's the exact law, which only states you "MAY" use the following options (meaning only if you want to):

Art. 370. A married woman may use:

(1) Her maiden first name and surname and add her husband’s surname, or

(2) Her maiden first name and her husband’s surname, or

(3) Her husband’s full name, but prefixing a word indicating that she is his wife, such as “Mrs.”

Hi Mga sis, question.ina-allow ba sa sss yung marriage certifiicate na galing sa Simbahan? and ilang months after ng weddding pede mag apply for marriage certificate from NSO?

^sabi ng friend ko kailangan daw certified true copy yun marriage certificate na ipapakita sa SSS kahit may marriage cert ka na galing sa NSO. so dapat pa din ba ipa certified true copy ko yun galing sa church? pwede ko ba sya ipa CTC sa city hall kung san ako nag apply ng marriage license or don sa pinagpasahan ng church namin?

Hi sis.  Yung sa amin inabot ng 3 1/2 months bago ako naka kuha NSO copy and yun din pinresent ko when I changed my status sa SSS (original and photocopy), they returned the original.
