Increasing Financial Literacy

I am glad that more and more Filipinos are into fixing up their finances. You guys, I believe, are already knowledgeable of that since you are in this part of the forum. So, how do you increase your financial literacy? Do you study on your own? Do you hire a financial planner? Share naman to help others increase their Financial IQ.

I'm a beginner too. I'm trying to schedule a meeting with a couple of financial planners. But I also read stuff online. Last year, I joined a Coursera course but hindi ko natutukan (I over-committed ). So I enrolled again in one of their Finance classes again, which is due to start in 2 weeks.

This board forum is helpful, too but nakakalito kasi may terms na hindi ko naiintindihan.

I'm also a beginner. Started reading financial topics last year lang and continuing reading from blogs and forums like this. I also join FBgroups regarding investing. Mostly un lang ginagawa ko to educate myself regarding financial independecy. Until now, still struggling on establishing my savings since I'm already a mom. Ang meron palang ako is VUL that I got last dec 2013.

it was 2011 nung una ako magattend ng financial seminar sinama ako ni bf pero sya nauna maginvest sa stocks ako plano ko around half quarter kasi inaayos ko pa financial budget ko though alam ko naman walang right month to start dapat eh debt free ka muna at maayos cash flow

finally  nakapag invest na rin sa Mutual fund, i joined TGFI sa facebook tapos nag attend kami seminar ng pesos and sense.

I love reading about this topic, write about financial literacy (had formal training on it a few years back) though I leave the big financial decisions to hubby.

But when my father suffered from a stroke last year, I was forced to manage his stocks of thousands of pesos kaya ayan napilitan seryosohin and I always update myself and surround myself with people who know these things.
