Ateneo or lasalle elementary and high school

Hi mga mommies. Malapit na naman matapos ang school year.  Just want to get your suggestions and inputs regarding grade school and high school ng ateneo and lasalle.

Incoming grade 4 student son ko this june. And I'm thinking if i can transfer him sa lasalle or ateneo. We live in qc but walang problem ang byahe since hatid sundo naman siya ng driver. Money also is not an issue. Main concern ko ang quality of education and the overall product. I want to know which is better. 

Hope to get feedbacks from the moms here. If you know the tuition fee rates kindly share na din. One parent nakausap ko lasalle gh son niya nasa 100k daw grade 1, sa ateneo naman ata nasa 80k not so sure. Also regarding entrance exams hindi ba mahirap? Thanks in advance.

^ Hi amethyst08.  Please call the Ateneo Grade School Registrar's office (426-5956) ASAP.  I received a letter last month regarding the schedule of exams for transferees.  I did not pay attention to the dates but since school will end next week, make your call this week.

Tuition for grade 1 last year is 108k (full mode).  May variance if you pay semestral or quarterly.  Not sure about the tuition for grade 4.  Tamang-tama ang transfer ng son mo if ever because the middle school starts at grade 4.

My sons are in grade 1.  I'm happy so far with the academics, faculty and administration, values formation and organization of the grade school.

Open pa kaya sila for entrance exam? I checked their website kasi and nakalagay grade 1 tsaka grade 7 lang ang pwede. Sa lasalle naman pwede mag transfer any grade level kaya lang alanganin na yung date kasi november to feb ang exams nila. According yun sa website.

But will try to call baka nag a-accept pa sila.

Sa totoo ang dami ko kilala na grad ng lasalle greenhills as in. Pero 2 pa lang na kakilala ko na graduate ng ateneo sa hs kaya hirap din ako mag decide.

^ Sis, hindi yata "entrance exam" ang tawag for the qualifying test for transferees.  I re-read the letter yesterday.  The AGS Registrar will accept applications for transferees only until March 14.

Hi marose17! My son will be in grade 1 next year and we plan to apply in ateneo this july. Do have tips on the admission test for grade 1?  What things should i review him on? How much is the total school expenses including tuition, other fees, miscellaneous, books and uniform? Thank you.

^ I think the admissions officers will look for good behavior, courtesy and maturity aside from academic readiness.  Do not stress too much on the academics aspect as behavior during the exam is the key, as I have been advised.  Your son should at the very least know how to write his name, count and read  and answer questions verbally in complete sentences.

For this year, incoming grade 1 tuition fee plus textbooks and miscellaneous expenses will amount to roughly Php120,000.  Uniforms (except PE uniform) and school supplies are not included in the amount.

Thank you marose17. i am nervous/anxious with this test.. Do have any idea as to what they did and how long the test took? My son, now 4 yrs and 9 mos, doesn't know how to read yet, but can write his name. Did you aplly for lasalle too? Would you know how much their tuition fee is?

^ It was my husband who accompanied my sons when they had their exam.  He has no idea as to how it went because parents are not allowed inside the testing premises. It took more or less an hour. As I recall, a teacher fetched the boys (there were around 10 in their batch of applicants) by the gate and led them to the testing room.  My sons said they played with toys and were asked questions by the teacher.  Very vague eh.  Please do not be too nervous as it might affect your son.  He should be relaxed but conscious that it is an important day.  Tell him to behave and greet the teachers and say please and thank you.

We did not apply in La Salle so I do not have any idea of the tuition fee there.

hi sis so sorry super late comment na to.. my daughter was accepted at dlsu. she's incoming 5th grader.. exam was medyo whole day (8am-3pm).. 3 subjects lang nam,an english, math, and science. pero my daughter told me mababait daw the facilitators and they even told them na sagutan lang eh yong alam nila and after exam we were invited for an interview by the GH principal.. parents+kid separate interview sya.. then the principal gave us the pink paper saying our daughter passed. then explain nya lang samin the exam result.. i think someone from their batch got a "probationary" acceptance im not so sure ha.. pero parang merong ganon at meron daw waiver na pinapasign bago ma admit kapag ganon ang result..
BTW tuition fee for G5 is around 96k kapag full and aabot sa 101k for installment..
books are cheaper in dlsu than in our previous school.. dito 3600+ lang inabot the books and around 1700 ang school supplies pero optional ito.,.,
