ohhh.. so this is how this sort of scheme runs. There was a time before when I got bombarded by invites from Astoria and a couple of hotels in Tagaytay, Day's yata yun isa. I nearly got talked into spending some chair time. They made sure they were  emphatic enough about the grand buffet treat that one could surmise that what they were big on promoting is the hotel's menu, and not the shares and amenities. Maneuvering their way to a person's heart via the gut, eh? buti na lang pala wala akong time.. and gut.. hehe!

Naku beware of this mga sis, scam ito. Just google the net for Astoria Club scams and marami kayo makikita negative feedbacks. Sasabihin nanalo ka 3/d 2/n stay pero it's not really free.

Pinuntahan namin yung One tagaytay place sa One Corporate center to claim this prize pero it turns out to be a 90 min sales pitch na umabot ng 3 hrs.

Sabi sa gift voucher namin:

...This offer is valid with a redemption period of 30 days from the date of issue and a booking of PHP5,000.00 will also apply which will be refunded upon completion of the trip....

So pano ka nanalo sa raffle? And why do they have to ask you how much you earn, e kung valid contest yun dapat walang conditions.

nag-availed din kmi last monday for club astoria. d ko alam n scam sya at khapon lang ako nkapagbasa sa net ng ganito. ngyn parang gusto kung bawiin yung dineposit ko thru credit card n P18k plus for studio. ngdadalwang isip tuloy ako at nagtataka bkit c boy abunda n endorser nila ay hindi b alam ang ganitong scheme ng club astoria. kaso nsa contract n magbabyad k ng P20k para sa legal. help nman kung pano ang gagawin ko? mababawi ko p b yung P18k at makakasuhan b ako kung sakaling matawagan ko p ang credit card company ko? pls help me

i don't think this is a scam naman. my mom has this type of investment with astoria. 4 years na din namin nagagamit. one time sa boracay pa during peak season free for one week may free dinner buffet pa. at kung one week ka magstay sa astoria boracay it would cost you around 30,000.

i think it's worth it if you like travelling.

One tagaytay place offered us this kind of scheme. Kung sa astoria 180k plus daw yung membership (discounted) nila plus maintenance of 8k/yr, sa One Tagaytay nasa around 450k ang membership (discounted na din) and maintenance of 6k/year. With One Tagaytay, you need to pay downpayment of 40k++ and monthly installment of 10kplus and then maintenance na 6k plus. That for accomodation alone. We stayed and listened for more than 90minutes. When My hubby and I said no, kasi wala sa budget and we have our priorities, yung sales/marketing na kumakasap samin nag iba na tono nya from being enthusiastic to rude, telling my husband and i na we lied when we said we liked the idea. Sabi nya if gusto namin dapat daw may paraan. Hubby naman said you may like the idea but it doesnt automatically mean you would avail of the membership which is beyond your means and budget. Sales guy was so bitter that we didn't bite the bait. Samanatalang me and my hubby were dropping off hints many times na that's good only for those who have budget na extra and those who are frequent travellers talaga. Which is hindi kami yon. Sales guy also said na he was going to offer sana dp of 10k only and monthly installment of 2.5k but he said wag nalang in a rude manner. Also, he mentioned a couple of times na they're giving us (apparently we won from a raffle) an overnight stay in One Tagaytay Place worth 6800. But when my hubby googled the room they offered was worth 2.9k and we had to pay 2k (stated in the voucher) na consumable to be used sa massage and dinner. It was a complete waste of time. But i am glad we made the right decision to say no. It may work for others but definitely not for us.

nag-avail din kami sa club ultima/crown regency. papunta kasi kami ng cebu nun and we were offered 3d2n free accommodation. my idea na kami sa timeshare presentation because we attended one in astoria boracay before. we were prepared to say no at yung free voucher lang ang habol namin. pero somehow we were convinced. 185k yung membership, 10k dp tapos 5k/monthly for 5 years + 6k maintenance fee yearly. may ka-tie up din sila for international accommodations subject to conversion fee + additional annual fee. mukhang ok naman and we really want na maka-save sa mga future travels namin.

and since malapit na yung cebu trip namin, we asked if we can use the voucher. nga pala, we got the voucher for free kasi nag-avail kami ng membership. if we didn't, we will need to pay 3k if we want to use it.

we stayed in crown regency cebu. ok naman pero when we went back to manila, we cancelled the membership right away. kasi during the presentation, bukambibig nung agent na lahat daw ng hotel ng crown regency 5-star. we've never been to any crown regency hotels. ang naiisip kong regency was the beachfront regency hotel in station 2 in boracay. pero iba pala yun sa crown regency. then yung crown regency hotel sa cebu di naman 5-star. and average lang ang reviews ng ibang crown regency hotels. we felt we were deceived. di naman siya scam, but they overrated their hotels.

so for us, di talaga sulit yung membership, kaya back-out kami agad. nung nalaman nung agent na nag-back out kami, he became rude. pero wala na siyang magagawa, nakalagay naman sa contract that we can cancel the membership. buti na lang di pa nagsisimula yung monthly fee namin. bale 10k lang ang damage. inisip na lang namin na yung 10k is for the 3d2n we stayed in crown regency cebu.

ok naman ang concept ng timeshare especially for frequent travelers, pero mas maganda kung makakapagresearch muna kayo about the hotel para ma-gauge nyo talaga if makakasulit kayo. ang problema, most of these offers are today-only offer. yung tipong di ka man lang bibigyan ng chance makapag-isip at makapag-research.

yes, hindi naman ito scam. pero i think ok lang ito sa mga may extra funds at depende nga sa timeshare na kukunin mo.

kasi yung sa SIL ko, magaganda yung hotels na accredited. like Marriott Phuket. tsaka, ang dami namin pwede gumamit so nasusulit siya.

^yes sis, nakalagay naman sa contract. if within 21 days magca-cancel, magbabayad ka ng additional 20k. after 21 days, wala ka ng babayaran. buti na lang yung monthly namin, 30 days after ng deposit pa ang start kaya pinacancel namin agad bago pa magsimula yung auto debit sa credit card ni hubby.

buti na lang talaga, papunta din kami sa cebu nung time na yun, nagamit agad namin yung voucher. at nakita namin na di talaga worth it ang club membership nila.

I also have Club Ultima, gusto ko sanang magamit at masulit, hindi ko na kasi sya napa-cancel eh.
