^ Uu sis. Depende talaga sa tao. Di mo naman mapipilit. Yun nga nagbabasa ako now ng Millionaire Fastlane, MFs are for the slowlaners din. You need to do more if you want to be rich. Pero as of now, MF lang yung easy way para sa mga regular people. Mahirap din kasi mag start ng business. Pero, we'll get there someday if we are very determined. =)

ang hindi ko lang gusto sa insurance is if you put certain amount of money then pag nag mature siya the value of the money is not that high na sa time na yun. like for example yung total hulog mo p300K for 5years, wait 10yrs then you get 1million. in 15yrs. ano na lang kaya ang nabibili ng 1million? nowadays a decent car will cost you at least p800k cash middle class. how about in 15years? and what about tuition fees in school? nasa 50k per year, college ngayon nasa 50K per sem. so in 15years what is the value of 1million?

but to each its own. madami pa din nag i-insurance because it fits their needs, for me it doesn't kaya ayoko nun. that's all.

Ako din, i'm not ok to insurance. Kasi mas mura compared sa brand new.

we just purchased a house & also have life insurance. but our house is for us, not an investment. we also considered getting a condo as investment, but decided against it muna. hindi kasi siya talaga investment for me. we considered things such as monthly dues, required repairs and maintenance, allowance for periods of times na walang magrerent, and the physical depreciation of the unit and the building itself.

we have several life insurance (VUL) policies, and since pang long term investment naman namin siya, it works well for us. we actually started with mutual fund before getting life insurance, but since hindi naman kami very disciplined to save (naglalagay lang kami pag may "extra", and usually, nakakalimutan namin mag add) -- mas mabuti for us ang VUL kasi "forced" kami to save. we treat it as an expense, and hindi namin tinitingnan how much fund value we already have so we can take them out. We monitor them lang to make sure na maganda ang earning, and plan to take them out for our kids' college funds :)

In my opinion, it cannot be one or the other.

When acquiring an asset, real or liquid, yung life insurance ang pambalanse.

Dapat covered ka with that amount.

http://www.bir.gov.ph/index.php/tax-information/estate-tax.html

Since estate taxes are triggered by death, ganun din ang life insurance claims. Insurance lang ang pwedeng pang tax shield kasi it can totally be exempt from estate taxes--pambayad nga siya ng estate tax e

and BIR requires cash payments of estate taxes :)

I'm 26 yrs old and single. I really want a house of my own, but which do you think is a better investment? Life insurance policy or house?
